  • DE 102018119718 A1 describes a filter with a particle filter, a plasma filter, a particulate filter and a charcoal filter, which are arranged in precisely this order. It was recognized as disadvantageous that the maintenance effort for the individual filter stages was individually different and therefore individual filter stages often had to be serviced. In addition, the HEPA filter stage often required maintenance much earlier than other stages.
  • the object of the invention was to provide a room air cleaning device with a plasma filter that was easier to maintain and can clean the air more reliably, especially with regard to the ozone content, than in the prior art.

  • the plasma filter is preferably a metallic comb or sawtooth ionizer. Ions are generated through the plasma filter using high voltage. Plasma filters or ionizers are devices for the partial ionization of air. The resulting radicals promote chemical degradation processes, which is used to eliminate odors and disinfect. The achievable currents are usually around 1 pA, which corresponds to several billion ions per second. The amount of activated carbon is reduced and must be refilled occasionally.
