Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for producing a hollow chamber profile for a window or a door and a hollow chamber profile for a window or a door, which has been produced by a method according to such a method.
  • thermoplastic materials are widely used for the production of plastic windows and plastic doors. They usually have several hollow chambers, which are delimited from each other by inner webs. These profiles are predominantly produced by extrusion from rigid PVC (PVC-U). In this case, the thermoplastic material is first melted and pressed by a corresponding molding tool, whereby the thermoplastic resin is given the shape of the hollow chamber profile. This is followed by cooling and calibration of the hollow chamber profiles. For an economic production of the hollow chamber profiles high extrusion and cooling rates are required. In addition, this method leads to residual stresses in the hollow chamber profiles, which lead to a distortion of the hollow chamber profiles produced in this way. Due to this distortion, windows and doors made of hollow profiles made of thermoplastic materials can only be produced to a lesser extent than corresponding windows or doors made of other materials.
