An electrically adjustable item of furniture (1) has at least one electric drive motor (4) for adjusting at least one furniture adjusting portion (3) relative to a furniture support portion (2). The drive motor is designed as an electric motor that can be operated by mains voltage, without galvanic isolation from the domestic power supply.
