Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats, welches mindestens eine metallische Schicht mit einer stoffschlüssig angebundenen Schicht aus einem Polymer umfasst, mit mindestens einem Verbindungspartner. Die mindestens eine metallische Schicht weist mindestens eine Ausnehmung auf und/oder ist zumindest bereichsweise im Vergleich zur Schicht aus Polymer kleiner dimensioniert, so dass zumindest auf der Seite der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht zumindest bereichsweise eine freie Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer zum Verbinden mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner bereitgestellt wird,wobei der Verbindungspartner zumindest an der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer angespritzt und/oder angepresst wird und die mindestens eine Ausnehmung in der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht am Metall-Polymer-Laminat eingebracht wird und/oder zur Erzeugung der kleineren Dimensionierung im Vergleich zu der Schicht aus Polymer die mindestens eine metallische Schicht zumindest bereichsweise am Metall-Polymer-Laminat entfernt wird.
Description
Verfahren zum Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats Technisches Gebiet
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats, welches mindestens eine metallische Schicht mit einer stoffschlüssig angebundenen Schicht aus einem Polymer umfasst, mit mindestens einem Verbindungspartner.
Technischer Hintergrund
Ein Verfahren zum Stumpfschweißen von Verbundplatten ist zum Beispiel aus der DE 1 955 970 A bekannt. In der DE 10 2011 121 899 AI wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schalenstrukturen beschrieben. Die EP 1 306 292 Bl betrifft die Herstellung eines Trägerbauteils, bei dem ein Grundkörper aus einem Sandwich - Werkstoff aufgebaut ist.
Aus dem Stand der Technik sind Werkstoffverbunde, insbesondere Hybridwerkstoffe mit mindestens einer metallischen Lage und mindestens einer Lage aus einem Polymer zum Herstellen eines Bauteils bekannt. Aus der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift DE 21 66 791 AI geht hervor, wie aus einem flachen Hybridwerkstoff ein Rohr erzeugt werden kann. Dabei umfasst der Hybridwerkstoff eine metallische Lage, eine Polymerlage die vollflächig mit der metallischen Lage verbunden ist, und eine weitere Lage aus einem Polymer, die durch das Formen des flachen Hybridwerkstoffs zu einem Rohr als Verbindungsmittel zum Schließen des Rohres vorgesehen ist. In der DE 10 2013 109 616 AI ist ein Halbzeug beschrieben, welches eine metallische Trägerschicht und eine mit dieser stoffschlüssig angebundenen Polymerschicht aufweist. Die Polymerschicht dient als Koppelschicht zum Verbinden von insbesondere angespritzten Verbindungspartnern aus Polymer auf der der metallischen Schicht abgewandten Seite. Ein Verbinden des Verbindungspartners mit dem Halbzeug ist daher nur von einer Seite, nämlich auf der Koppelschicht-Seite möglich.
Zusammenfassung der Erfindung
Der Erfindung liegt somit die Aufgabe zu Grunde, ein Verfahren weiterzubilden, um ein Metall- Polymer-Laminat individuell mit einem Verbindungspartner verbinden zu können.
Gelöst wird diese Aufgabe durch ein Verfahren mit den Merkmalen des Patentanspruchs l.
Gemäß einem ersten Aspekt ist erfindungsgemäß ein Verfahren zum Verbinden eines Metall- Polymer-Laminats, welches mindestens eine metallische Schicht mit einer stoffschlüssig angebundenen Schicht aus einem Polymer umfasst, mit mindestens einem Verbindungspartner, wobei die mindestens eine metallische Schicht mindestens eine Ausnehmung aufweist und/oder zumindest bereichsweise im Vergleich zur Schicht aus Polymer kleiner dimensioniert ist, so dass zumindest auf der Seite der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht zumindest bereichsweise eine freie Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer zum Verbinden mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner bereitgestellt wird, wobei der Verbindungspartner zumindest an der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer angespritzt und/oder angepresst wird.
Mit der Erfindung kann insbesondere ein Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats auf der metallischen Seite mit einem Verbindungspartner erfolgen. Der Verbindungpartner wird auf der Metallseite mit der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer durch Spritzgießen und/oder durch Pressverfahren, wie beispielsweise Fließpressen oder Formpressen, verbunden.
Die metallische Schicht ist vorzugsweise einlagig respektive lagenförmig aus einem metallischen Material gebildet. Vorzugsweise handelt es sich bei dem metallischen Material um ein Blech aus einer Stahllegierung, insbesondere einer Kohlenstoff- Stahllegierung, einer Aluminiumlegierung, einer Magnesiumlegierung oder einer Edelstahllegierung. Bei Verwendung einer Stahllegierung kann das Blech mit einem Korrosionsschutzüberzug zumindest einseitig beschichtet sein.
Die Schicht aus einem Polymer kann ein- oder mehrlagig ausgeführt sein. Als Material für das Polymer sind insbesondere Thermoplaste, wie z. B. Polyamid (PA), Polyethylen (PE), Poly- phenylsulfid (PPS), Polysulfon (PSU), Polypropylen (PP), Polyurethan (PU) oder deren Mischungen, sowie Duroplaste, wie z. B. Epoxidharz, Elastomere und thermoplastische Elastomere verwendbar. Das Polymer kann vorzugsweise auch faserverstärkt sein, wobei es eine Polymermatrix und Fasern umfasst, insbesondere in der Polymermatrix gelagerte Fasern. Als Material für die Polymermatrix sind insbesondere die vorgenannten Polymere verwendbar. Als Fasern sind insbesondere Karbonfasern, Glasfasern, Naturfasern, Aramidfasern, Polymerfasern, Metallfasern, Keramikfasern, mineralische Fasern, recycelte Fasern oder deren Mischungen verwendbar. Hierbei ist ferner der Einsatz als Kurzfaser, Langfaser und/oder als Endlosfaser vorstellbar. Insbesondere können die Fasern als Roving, Matte, Gewebe, Vlies,
Tape und/oder Gelege bereitgestellt werden. Bei einer mehrlagigen faserverstärkten Ausführung kann auch mindestens eine der Lagen faserfrei ausgeführt sein.
Zur Bildung respektive Bereitstellung des Metall-Polymer-Laminats sind die metallische Schicht und die Schicht aus Polymer stoffschlüssig miteinander verbunden. Zur Erhöhung der Haftung zwischen den beiden Schichten kann auch eine Zwischenschicht in Form eines Haftvermittlers zwischen Metall und Polymer berücksichtigt werden. Das Metall-Polymer- Laminat, welches zur Verbindung mit mindestens einem Verbindungspartner bereitgestellt wird, kann eben oder bereits geformt, insbesondere endgeformt ausgebildet sein. Das Metall- Polymer-Laminat weist beispielsweise eine metallische Schicht mit einer Dicke zwischen 0, 1 und 1,0 mm und eine Schicht aus Polymer mit einer Dicke zwischen 0,2 und 3,0 mm auf.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung umfasst das Metall-Polymer-Laminat mindestens eine weitere metallische Schicht und/oder eine weitere Schicht aus einem Polymer, die stoffschlüssig angebunden ist. Vorzugsweise ist das Metall-Polymer-Laminat als Sandwichmaterial mit zwei metallischen Schichten, die als Decklagen fungieren und eine zwischen den metallischen Schichten angeordnete Schicht aus einem Polymer, welche als Kernschicht fungiert, ausgeführt. Dadurch kann in vorteilhafter Weise ein Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer- Laminats auf der metallischen Seite über eine freie Oberfläche respektive freie Oberflächen einseitig oder beidseitig am Metall-Polymer-Laminat mit einem Verbindungspartner erfolgen.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung ist der mindestens eine Verbindungspartner aus einem Polymer oder einem niedrig schmelzenden metallischen Material gebildet. Als Material für das Polymer kommen alle Systeme in Frage, wie sie bereits zu dem Polymer der Schicht des Metall-Polymer-Laminats aufgeführt sind. Beispielsweise ist das Polymer des Verbindungspartners artgleich wie das Polymer der Schicht des Metall-Polymer-Laminats, welches beispielsweise in seinem Anbindungsbereich und/oder die freie Oberfläche am Metall-Polymer- Laminat insbesondere durch Erwärmen vor dem Verbinden einen Stoffschluss begünstigt. Das Polymer kann als Formmasse, Spritzmasse, SMC (sheet molding Compound), BMC (bulk molding Compound) oder insbesondere faserverstärktes Organoblech bereitgestellt werden. Das Polymer kann auch Teil oder Schicht eines Metall-Polymer-Materials, beispielsweise Metall-Polymer-Laminats sein. Als niedrig schmelzendes metallisches Material kommen beispielsweise die Metalle in Frage, deren Schmelztemperatur nicht höher als 300°C, insbesondere nicht höher als 270 °C, vorzugsweise nicht höher als 230°C ist, sodass das
Metall-Polymer-Laminat nicht zu hohen Temperaturen während des Verbindens ausgesetzt wird, welche sich nachteilig, insbesondere auf die Schicht aus Polymer auswirken können.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung wird die mindestens eine Ausnehmung in der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht am Metall-Polymer-Laminat eingebracht und/oder zur Erzeugung der kleineren Dimensionierung im Vergleich zu der Schicht aus Polymer wird die mindestens eine metallische Schicht zumindest bereichsweise am Metall-Polymer-Laminat entfernt. Die bereichsweise Entfernung, beispielsweise in einem Randbereich des Metall- Polymer-Laminats und/oder Einbringung mindestens einer Ausnehmung in der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht am Metall-Polymer-Laminat kann bedarfsgerecht erfolgen und wird beispielsweise mechanisch, beispielsweise mittels Fräsen oder thermisch, beispielsweise mittels Laser durchgeführt. Weist das Metall-Polymer-Laminat vorzugsweise zwei metallische Decklagen auf, können die metallischen Schichten auch bereichsweise beidseitig, vorzugsweise bereichsweise in einem Randbereich am Metall-Polymer-Laminat entfernt werden.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung wird die freie Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer thermisch, chemisch und/oder mechanisch vor dem Verbinden aktiviert. Die Aktivierung kann zu einer Verbesserung des Haftverhaltens führen, insbesondere wenn eine Oberflächen- strukturierung auf der freien Oberfläche der Schicht des Polymers erzeugt wird, welche beispielsweise als eine Art mikro- und/oder makroskopische Hinterschnitte aufweisen und dadurch zur Erhöhung der Haftung mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner, welcher vorzugsweise zumindest bereichsweise in die Hinterschnitte eindringen kann und sich dadurch mit der freien Oberfläche der Schicht des Polymers zusätzlich oder alternativ verhakt. Das Aktivieren kann beispielsweise mittels Laser oder mechanisch, beispielsweise Sandstrahlen oder Plasma erfolgen.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung wird die Schicht aus Polymer im Bereich der freien Oberfläche vor dem Verbinden umgeformt und/oder angeformt. Das Umformen und/oder Anformen im Bereich der freien Oberfläche bewirkt neben einem bevorzugten Stoffschluss mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner auch einen Formschluss, indem vorzugsweise die Schicht aus Polymer im Bereich der freien Oberfläche aus der Metall-Polymer-Laminat-Ebene geformt wird. Liegt die freie Oberfläche zumindest bereichsweise in einem Randbereich des Metall-Polymer-Laminats, kann die Schicht des Polymers in ihrer Erstreckung geteilt werden und zu einer Art Schwalbenschanz vor dem Verbinden geformt werden. Kommt bevorzugt ein faserverstärktes Polymer im Metall-Polymer-Laminat zum Einsatz, können die Fasern
insbesondere im Bereich der freien Oberfläche belastungsgerecht angeordnet werden bzw. sein.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung wird mindestens ein zweites Metall-Polymer-Laminat mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner verbunden. Vorzugsweise dient der mindestens eine Verbindungspartner zum Verbinden zweier Metall-Polymer-Laminate, wobei die Metall-Polymer-Laminate vorzugsweise jeweils als Sandwich mit zwei metallischen Decklagen ausgeführt sind und jeweils zumindest bereichsweise an einem ihren Randbereichen beidseitig eine freie Oberfläche der Schicht des Polymers zum Verbinden aufweisen. Der Verbindungspartner verbindet sich nicht nur vorzugsweise stoffschlüssig mit den beiden Metall- Polymer-Laminaten an den freien Oberflächen, sondern deckt auch vorzugsweise die Kanten der metallischen Schichten im Bereich der freien Oberflächen ab bzw. umgibt diese, um die offenen Kanten der metallischen Schichten, insbesondere die nach einer thermischen oder mechanischen Bearbeitung zur Bereitstellung der freien Oberflächen entstanden sind, vor Medieneintritt respektive Korrosion zu schützen.

Beschreibung der bevorzugten Ausführungsform
In Fig. 1 ist ein schematischer Schnitt durch eine erste Ausgestaltung vor dem Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats (1) mit einem Verbindungspartner (2) dargestellt. Das Metall-
Polymer-Laminat (1) ist als Sandwich ausgebildet und umfasst zwei metallische Schichten
(1.1) , die als Deckbleche fungieren, vorzugsweise Stahlbleche mit einer Dicke zwischen 0, 1 bis 1,0 mm, und eine zwischen den beiden Schichten (1.1) angeordnete Schicht aus Polymer
(1.2) , welche als Kernschicht mit einer Dicke zwischen 0,2 bis 3,0 mm fungiert, beispielsweise aus mehreren Lagen (1.21) bestehen kann und beispielsweise aus einer thermoplastischen Matrix, vorzugsweise einem Blend aus PA-PE oder PA, PE, PPS, PSU, PP, PU, mit einem Fasermaterial beispielsweise aus Karbon, Aramid und/oder Glas gebildet ist. Die im Schnitt dargestellte obere metallische Schicht (1.1) ist zumindest bereichsweise, insbesondere im Randbereich im Vergleich zur Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) kleiner dimensioniert, so dass auf der oberen Seite des Metall-Polymer-Laminats (1) zumindest bereichsweise eine freie Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) zum Verbinden mit dem Verbindungspartner (2) bereitgestellt wird. Zur Erzeugung der kleineren Dimensionierung im Vergleich zu der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) wird die obere metallische Schicht (1.1) zumindest bereichsweise am Metall- Polymer-Laminat (1) entfernt, beispielsweise mechanisch oder thermisch. Alternativ kann die kleinere Dimensionierung der oberen metallischen Schicht (1.1) bereits im Zuge der Herstellung des Metall-Polymer-Laminats (1) entsprechend berücksichtigt werden. Als Verbindungspartner (2) wird beispielsweise ein Organoblech bestehend aus einem gleichen oder ähnlichen Matrixmaterial wie das Polymer des Metall-Polymer-Laminats oder ein weiteres Metall-Polymer-Laminat bereitgestellt. Vor dem Verbinden kann die freie Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) thermisch, chemisch und/oder mechanisch aktiviert werden. Zur Begünstigung des Stoffschlusses kann zumindest die freie Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht des Polymers (1.2) vor dem Verbinden erwärmt werden. Der Verbindungspartner (2) wird zumindest an der freien Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) zum Verbinden mit dem Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1) mittels eines Pressverfahrens angepresst.
In Fig. 2 ist ein schematischer Schnitt durch eine zweite Ausgestaltung vor dem Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats (1) mit einem Verbindungspartner dargestellt. Im Unterschied zu der Ausführung in Fig. 1 weist das Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1) eine Ausnehmung (1.3) in der oberen metallischen Schicht (1.1) am Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1) auf, durch die eine freie Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) zum Verbinden mit einem Verbindungspartner bereitgestellt wird. Die Einbringung der mindestens einen Ausnehmung (1.3) in der oberen metallischen Schicht (1.1) am Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1.1) kann bedarfsgerecht erfolgen und wird beispielsweise mechanisch oder thermisch durchgeführt. Mittels Pfeil symbolisiert kann beispielsweise ein nicht dargestellter Verbindungpartner, vorzugsweise ein faserverstärktes Polymer durch Spritzgießen an der freien Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus
Polymer (1.2) angespritzt werden und dadurch mit dem Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1) verbunden werden.
In Fig. 3 ist ein schematischer Schnitt durch eine dritte Ausgestaltung nach dem Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats (1) mit einem Verbindungspartner (2) dargestellt. Die obere und untere metallische Schicht (1.1) sind im Vergleich zur Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) kleiner dimensioniert, so dass im Randbereich beidseitig freie Oberflächen (1.22) am Metall-Polymer- Laminat (1) zum Verbinden bereitgestellt wurden. Die Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) wurde im Bereich der freien Oberflächen (1.22) vor dem Verbinden umgeformt und/oder angeformt, indem die Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) im Bereich der freien Oberflächen (1.22) aus der Metall- Polymer-Laminat-Ebene geformt wurde. Die Schicht des Polymers (1.2) wurde in ihrer Erstreckung geteilt und zu einer Art Schwalbenschanz (1.4) vor dem Verbinden geformt. Die Fasern im faserverstärkten Polymer sind im Bereich der freien Oberflächen (1.22) belastungsgerecht angeordnet. Der Schwalbenschanz (1.4) im Bereich der freien Oberflächen (1.22) bewirkt neben einem Stoffschluss mit dem Verbindungspartner (2) auch einen Formschluss und somit eine belastbarere Verbindung zwischen Metall-Polymer-Laminat (1) und Verbindungspartner (2). Der Verbindungpartner (2) besteht vorzugsweise aus einem faserverstärkten Polymer und wurde durch Spritzgießen an der freien Oberfläche (1.22) der Schicht aus Polymer (1.2) angespritzt. Alternativ kann der Verbindungpartner auch aus einem unverstärkten thermoplastischen oder duroplastischen Polymer bestehen und durch Formpressen an der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer angepresst werden.
In Fig. 4 ist ein schematischer Schnitt durch eine vierte Ausgestaltung nach dem Verbinden zweier Metall-Polymer-Laminate (1) mit einem Verbindungspartner (2) dargestellt. Der Verbindungspartner (2) dient zum einen zum Verbinden zweier Metall-Polymer-Laminate (1) und kann zum anderen auch noch weitere Funktionen übernehmen. Die oberen und unteren metallischen Schichten (1.1) sind im Vergleich zu den Schichten aus Polymer (1.2) kleiner dimensioniert, so dass die Metall-Polymer-Laminate (1) im Randbereich jeweils beidseitig freie Oberflächen (1.22) aufweisen. Der Verbindungspartner (2) ist nicht nur stoffschlüssig mit den beiden Metall-Polymer-Laminaten (1) an den freien Oberflächen (1.22) verbunden, sondern deckt auch die Kanten der metallischen Schichten (1.1) im Bereich der freien Oberflächen (1.22) der Metall-Polymer-Laminate (1) ab bzw. umgibt diese, um die offenen Kanten der metallischen Schichten (1.1) zu schützen. Der Verbindungpartner (2) besteht vorzugsweise aus einem faserverstärkten Polymer und wurde durch Spritzgießen an den freien Oberflächen (1.22) der Schichten aus Polymer (1.2) angespritzt. Alternativ kann der Verbindungpartner
auch aus einem unverstärkten thermoplastischen oder duroplastischen Polymer bestehen und durch Formpressen an der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer angepresst werden.
Die Erfindung ist nicht auf die in der Zeichnung dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiele, insbesondere ist die Anzahl der Schichten und/oder Fügepartner nicht auf drei beschränkt. Insbesondere können auch noch weitere Schichten aus Polymer und metallischen Schichten vorgesehen werden. Auch andere Materialien hinsichtlich Fasern und Matrix sind verwendbar. Des Weiteren können die Bleche, wenn sie aus einer Stahllegierung bestehen, mit einem Korrosionsschutzüberzug, vorzugsweise auf Zink-Basis, beschichtet sein. Insbesondere zur Erhöhung der Haftung zwischen der metallischen Schicht und der Schicht aus Polymer kann das Blech zumindest einseitig auf der der Schicht zugewandten Seite mit einem Haftvermittler beschichtet sein.

Claims
1. Verfahren zum Verbinden eines Metall-Polymer-Laminats, welches mindestens eine metallische Schicht mit einer stoffschlüssig angebundenen Schicht aus einem Polymer umfasst, mit mindestens einem Verbindungspartner, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die mindestens eine metallische Schicht mindestens eine Ausnehmung aufweist und/oder zumindest bereichsweise im Vergleich zur Schicht aus Polymer kleiner dimensioniert ist, so dass zumindest auf der Seite der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht zumindest bereichsweise eine freie Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer zum Verbinden mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner bereitgestellt wird, wobei der Verbindungspartner zumindest an der freien Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer angespritzt und/oder angepresst wird und die mindestens eine Ausnehmung in der mindestens einen metallischen Schicht am Metall-Polymer-Laminat eingebracht wird und/oder zur Erzeugung der kleineren Dimensionierung im Vergleich zu der Schicht aus Polymer die mindestens eine metallische Schicht zumindest bereichsweise am Metall-Polymer-Laminat entfernt wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Metall-Polymer- Laminat mindestens eine weitere metallische Schicht und/oder eine weitere Schicht aus einem Polymer umfasst, die stoffschlüssig angebunden sind.
3. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der mindestens eine Verbindungspartner aus einem Polymer oder einem niedrig schmelzenden metallischen Material gebildet ist.
4. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die freie Oberfläche der Schicht aus Polymer thermisch, chemisch und/oder mechanisch vor dem Verbinden aktiviert wird.
5. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Schicht aus Polymer im Bereich der freien Oberfläche vor dem Verbinden umgeformt und/oder angeformt wird.
6. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass mindestens ein zweites Metall-Polymer-Laminat mit dem mindestens einen Verbindungspartner verbunden wird.
