Abstract
高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドにより構成される第1の鎖状構造と、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成され、第1の鎖状構造の末端に結合されて第1の鎖状構造同士を接続する第2の鎖状構造とを有する。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。
Description
本発明は、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物、その高分子化合物の中間組成物、負極電極、蓄電装置、及び高分子化合物の製造方法に関する。
二次電池等の蓄電装置を用いた製品として、携帯電話やノート型パソコン等の携帯機器が多く利用されている。蓄電装置は、電気自動車用の大型電源としても注目されている。
二次電池の電極は、例えば、銅やアルミニウム等の金属材料により形成された集電体と、その集電体上に結着された活物質層とから構成されている。一般に、活物質層には、活物質を集電体に結着させるための電極用バインダーが含まれている。例えば、特許文献1には、負極用バインダーとして、ポリアミドイミドを用いた蓄電装置が開示されている。
二次電池の電極は、例えば、銅やアルミニウム等の金属材料により形成された集電体と、その集電体上に結着された活物質層とから構成されている。一般に、活物質層には、活物質を集電体に結着させるための電極用バインダーが含まれている。例えば、特許文献1には、負極用バインダーとして、ポリアミドイミドを用いた蓄電装置が開示されている。
ポリアミドイミドを負極用バインダーとして用いた場合、蓄電装置の初期効率が低くなりやすい傾向がある。本研究者らは、ポリアミドイミドに特定の修飾を加えた高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた場合、蓄電装置の初期効率が向上することを見出した。本発明の目的は、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして有用な高分子化合物、その高分子化合物を得るための中間組成物、その高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた負極電極、及び蓄電装置を提供すること、並びにその高分子化合物の製造方法を提供することにある。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第一の態様によれば、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物が提供される。高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドにより構成される第1の鎖状構造と、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成され、第1の鎖状構造の末端に結合されて第1の鎖状構造同士を接続する第2の鎖状構造とを有している。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。
上記高分子化合物において、第1の鎖状構造と第2の鎖状構造とは、アミド結合及びイミド結合の少なくとも一種により結合されていることが好ましい。
上記高分子化合物において、第1の鎖状構造と第2の鎖状構造との結合構造は、下記一般式(1)に示す結合構造であり、PAIは、第1の鎖状構造であり、Polyは、第2の鎖状構造であり、Xは、下記一般式(2)に示す構造であり、Yは、炭素数1~4の直鎖アルキル基、フェニレン基、又は酸素原子であり、R1,R2はそれぞれ独立して、水素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基であることが好ましい。
上記高分子化合物において、第1の鎖状構造と第2の鎖状構造との結合構造は、下記一般式(1)に示す結合構造であり、PAIは、第1の鎖状構造であり、Polyは、第2の鎖状構造であり、Xは、下記一般式(2)に示す構造であり、Yは、炭素数1~4の直鎖アルキル基、フェニレン基、又は酸素原子であり、R1,R2はそれぞれ独立して、水素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基であることが好ましい。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第三の態様によれば、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物が提供される。高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、多官能アミンとを縮合してなる。ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーである。
上記高分子化合物において、多官能アミンは、芳香族多官能アミンであることが好ましい。
上記高分子化合物において、多官能アミンは、下記一般式(3)に示す芳香族多官能アミンであり、Yは、炭素数1~4の直鎖アルキル基、フェニレン基、又は酸素原子であり、R1,R2はそれぞれ独立して、水素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基であることが好ましい。
上記高分子化合物において、多官能アミンは、下記一般式(3)に示す芳香族多官能アミンであり、Yは、炭素数1~4の直鎖アルキル基、フェニレン基、又は酸素原子であり、R1,R2はそれぞれ独立して、水素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基であることが好ましい。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第五の態様によれば、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物の製造方法が提供される。高分子化合物の製造方法は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーとを縮合する工程を含む。また、ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーである。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第六の態様によれば、蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物の製造方法が提供される。高分子化合物の製造方法は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、多官能アミンとを縮合する工程を含む。ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーである。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第七の態様によれば、蓄電装置の負極電極が提供される。負極電極は、上記高分子化合物を含有する負極用バインダーと、負極活物質とを備える。負極活物質は、リチウムを吸蔵及び放出し得る炭素系材料、リチウムと合金化可能な元素、及びリチウムと合金化可能な元素を有する化合物から選ばれる少なくとも一種である。
上記負極電極において、負極活物質は、CaSi2から脱カルシウム化反応を経て得られるシリコン材料、Si、及びSiOV(0<V≦2)から選ばれる少なくとも一種であることが好ましい。
上記課題を解決するため、本発明の第八の態様によれば、上記負極電極と、非水電解質とを備える蓄電装置が提供される。
本発明によれば、蓄電装置の初期効率を向上させることができる。

第1の鎖状構造は、ポリアミドイミドにより構成されている。第1の鎖状構造を構成するポリアミドイミドは、一般式(4)に示す構造を構成単位とするポリマーである。
第1の鎖状構造を構成するポリアミドイミドは、アルコキシシリル基を含むシラン変性ポリアミドイミドであってもよい。アルコキシシリル基としては、例えば、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、プロポキシ基等のアルコキシ基を有するモノアルコキシシリル基、ジアルコキシシリル基、トリアルコキシシリル基が挙げられる。これらのなかでも、ジアルコキシシリル基及びトリアルコキシシリル基が特に好ましい。
シラン変性ポリアミドイミドにおけるアルコキシシリル基の位置は、特に限定されず、ポリアミドイミド鎖の鎖中又は末端であってもよいし、ポリアミドイミドの側鎖であってもよい。ポリアミドイミド鎖の鎖中にアルコキシシリル基を有するシラン変性ポリアミドイミドは、例えば、特開2001-68115号公報に開示されている。ポリアミドイミド鎖の末端にアルコキシシリル基を有するシラン変性ポリアミドイミドは、例えば、特開2009-043678号公報に開示されている。
ポリアミドイミドの側鎖にアルコキシシリル基を有するシラン変性ポリアミドイミドとしては、例えば、一般式(7)に示すように、一般式(4)に示す構造のアミノ基(第2級アミン)に、アルコキシシリル基を含む官能基が側鎖として結合したものが挙げられる。
上記アルコキシシリル基を含む官能基としては、ポリアミドイミドにアルコキシシリル基含有化合物を反応させてなる官能基が挙げられる。アルコキシシリル基含有化合物としては、例えば、イソシアン酸3-(トリメトキシシリル)プロピル、イソシアン酸3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル等のイソシアネート基含有アルコキシシラン、3-グリジルプロピルトリメトキシシラン等のエポキシ基含有アルコキシシランが挙げられる。
第1の鎖状構造を構成するシラン変性ポリアミドイミドは、一般式(7)に示す構造のみを構成単位とするポリマーであってもよいし、一般式(4)に示す構造及び一般式(7)に示す構造の両方を構成単位とするポリマーであってもよい。シラン変性ポリアミドイミドの変性度、すなわち、一般式(4)に示す構造の構成単位と一般式(7)に示す構造の構成単位との比率(一般式(4)に示す構造の構成単位:一般式(7)に示す構造の構成単位)は、99:1~80:20の範囲であることが好ましく、98:2~89:11の範囲であることがより好ましい。
第1の鎖状構造を構成するポリアミドイミドの重量平均分子量は、特に限定されないが、例えば、1000~100000の範囲であることが好ましく、5000~50000の範囲であることがより好ましい。
第1の鎖状構造の末端の大部分が、第2の鎖状構造に結合されている。具体的には、第1の鎖状構造の末端は、第2の鎖状構造に対して、50%以上結合されていることが好ましく、75%以上結合されていることがより好ましく、95%以上結合されていることが更に好ましい。
(第2の鎖状構造)
第2の鎖状構造は、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成されている。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。ビニル系ポリマーにおける結合構成単位と非結合構成単位との構成割合としては、非結合性単量体の比率が結合性単量体の比率よりも高くなることが好ましい。例えば、結合構成単位と非結合構成単位との比率(結合構成単位:非結合構成単位)が、1:1~1:10の範囲であることが好ましい。
第2の鎖状構造は、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成されている。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。ビニル系ポリマーにおける結合構成単位と非結合構成単位との構成割合としては、非結合性単量体の比率が結合性単量体の比率よりも高くなることが好ましい。例えば、結合構成単位と非結合構成単位との比率(結合構成単位:非結合構成単位)が、1:1~1:10の範囲であることが好ましい。
結合構成単位は、例えば、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合やイミド結合等の結合構造を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体(以下、結合性単量体と記載する。)からなる構成単位である。結合性単量体としては、アミノ基に対して反応性を有するビニル系単量体、及びカルボキシル基に対して反応性を有するビニル系単量体が挙げられる。アミノ基に対して反応性を有するビニル系単量体としては、例えば、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、マレイン酸、無水マレイン酸、フタル酸等のカルボキシル基を有するビニル系単量体や、リン酸ビニル、スルホン酸ビニル、及びアクロレイン(2-プロペナール)が挙げられる。カルボキシル基に対して反応性を有するビニル系単量体としては、ビニルアニリン、ビニルイミダゾール等のアミノ基を有するビニル系単量体が挙げられる。ビニル系ポリマーは、これらの結合性単量体のうちの一種のみを結合構成単位とする構造であってもよいし、二種以上を結合構成単位とする構造であってもよい。
非結合構成単位は、例えば、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合やイミド結合等の結合構造を形成しないビニル系単量体(以下、非結合性単量体と記載する。)からなる構成単位である。非結合性単量体としては、例えば、スチレン、エチレン、イソブタン、ブタジエン、イソプレン、アクリロニトリル、メタクリロニトリル、酢酸ビニル、メチルビニルケトン、N,N-ジメチルアクリルアミド、ブチルアルキルエーテル、塩化ビニル、アクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル、N-[3-(ジメチルアミノ)プロピル]アクリルアミド、N-イソプロピルアクリルアミドが挙げられる。
非結合性単量体は、立体障害となる側鎖を有する非結合性単量体であることが好ましい。立体障害となる側鎖を有する非結合性単量体としては、例えば、スチレン、2-メチルスチレン、3-メチルスチレン、4-メチルスチレン、2,4,6-トリメチルスチレン、スチレンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ビニルピリジン、2-ビニルナフタレン、スチルベン、3,3-ジメチル-1-ブテン、(+)-カンフェン、(-)-カンフェンが挙げられる。
ビニル系ポリマーは、これらの非結合性単量体のうちの一種のみを非結合構成単位とする構造であってもよいし、二種以上を非結合構成単位とする構造であってもよい。
第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーの重量平均分子量は、特に限定されないが、例えば、5000~2000000の範囲であることが好ましく、8000~200000の範囲であることがより好ましい。

高分子化合物において、第2の鎖状構造は、第1の鎖状構造の末端の大部分が第2の鎖状構造に結合されるように含まれている。したがって、第1の鎖状構造に対する第2の鎖状構造の比率は、第1の鎖状構造の数、及び第2の鎖状構造における結合性単量体の比率に応じて設定される。
(結合構造)
第1の鎖状構造及び第2の鎖状構造は、第1の鎖状構造の末端と第2の鎖状構造における結合構成単位からなる部分との間に、アミド結合及びイミド結合の少なくとも一方を含む結合構造が形成されることによって、互いに結合されている。

一般式(2)において、R1,R2は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基である。R1がメチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、又はメトキシ基である場合、R1の結合位置は、アミノ基に対するオルト位、メタ位、パラ位のいずれであってもよい。R2についても同様である。
高分子化合物は、上記の結合構造のうちの一種のみを有してもよいし、二種以上有してもよい。

高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとを縮合させることにより得られる。具体的には、高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとを混合する混合工程と、混合工程にて得られた中間組成物を加熱処理する加熱工程とを経ることにより得られる。
(ポリアミドイミド)
ポリアミドイミドは、上記の一般式(4)に示す構造を構成単位とするポリアミドイミドである。ポリアミドイミドの重量平均分子量は、特に限定されないが、例えば、1000~100000の範囲であることが好ましく、5000~50000の範囲であることがより好ましい。

ビニル系ポリマーの配合割合は、ポリアミドイミド100質量部に対して0.1~30質量部の範囲に設定されることが好ましい。ビニル系ポリマーの配合割合は、ポリアミドイミドの数(ポリアミドイミドの末端の数)に対して、ビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体からなる部分の数が同数以上となるように設定されることが好ましい。具体的には、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体からなる部分の数とのモル比(ポリアミドイミドの数:ビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体からなる部分の数)が1:1~1:10の範囲であることが好ましく、1:1~1:2の範囲であることがより好ましい。
(多官能アミン)
多官能アミンは、ポリアミドイミドの末端のカルボキシル基とビニル系ポリマーが有するカルボキシル基との間に結合構造を形成する場合に配合される。多官能アミンは、特に限定されないが、製造時における溶解性の観点において、分子構造内にベンゼン環等の芳香環構造を有する芳香族多官能アミンであることが好ましい。芳香族多官能アミンとしては、例えば、下記の一般式(3)に示す構造を有する化合物が挙げられる。
多官能アミンは、ポリアミドイミドの末端のカルボキシル基とビニル系ポリマーが有するカルボキシル基との間に結合構造を形成する場合に配合される。多官能アミンは、特に限定されないが、製造時における溶解性の観点において、分子構造内にベンゼン環等の芳香環構造を有する芳香族多官能アミンであることが好ましい。芳香族多官能アミンとしては、例えば、下記の一般式(3)に示す構造を有する化合物が挙げられる。
Yが直鎖アルキル基及びフェニレン基である場合、その構造を構成する炭素原子には置換基が結合されていてもよい。例えば、直鎖アルキル基を構成する炭素原子に結合される置換基としては、メチル基、エチル基、フルオロメチル基、ジフルオロメチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、メトキシ基、エトキシ基が挙げられる。これらの置換基は、一種のみが結合されていてもよいし、二種以上が結合されていてもよい。一つの炭素原子に結合される置換基の数は、一つであってもよいし、二つであってもよい。直鎖アルキル基及びフェニレン基を構成する炭素原子に結合される置換基は、アミノ基、又はアミノ基を含む置換基であってもよく、この場合、3以上のアミノ基を有する多官能アミンとなる。

一般式(3)に示す構造を有する化合物の具体例について記載する。
Yが直鎖アルキル基である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、3,3’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、3,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、4,4’-エチレンジアニリン、4,4’-ジアミノ-3,3’-ジメチルジフェニルメタン、1,1-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)シクロヘキサン、9、9-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)フルオレン、2,2’-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)ヘキサフルオロプロパンが挙げられる。Yがフェニレン基である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、1,3,5-トリス(4-アミノフェニル)ベンゼンが挙げられる。1,3,5-トリス(4-アミノフェニル)ベンゼンは、3つのアミノ基を有する三官能アミンである。Yが酸素原子である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルエーテルが挙げられる。
Yが直鎖アルキル基である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、3,3’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、3,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン、4,4’-エチレンジアニリン、4,4’-ジアミノ-3,3’-ジメチルジフェニルメタン、1,1-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)シクロヘキサン、9、9-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)フルオレン、2,2’-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)ヘキサフルオロプロパンが挙げられる。Yがフェニレン基である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、1,3,5-トリス(4-アミノフェニル)ベンゼンが挙げられる。1,3,5-トリス(4-アミノフェニル)ベンゼンは、3つのアミノ基を有する三官能アミンである。Yが酸素原子である多官能アミンとしては、例えば、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルエーテルが挙げられる。
一般式(3)に示す構造を有する化合物以外の芳香族多官能アミンとしては、例えば、1,2-ジアミノベンゼン、1,3-ジアミノベンゼン、1,4-ジアミノベンゼン、2,4-ジアミノトルエン、2,5-ジアミノトルエン、3,4-ジアミノトルエン、3,4-ジアミノ安息香酸、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸、1,5-ジアミノナフタレン、1,8-ジアミノナフタレン、2,4-ジアミノピリジン、2,5-ジアミノピリジン、2,6-ジアミノピリジン、1,3-ジイミノイソインドリンが挙げられる。
芳香族多官能アミン以外のその他の多官能アミンとしては、例えば、1,4-ジアミノブタン、1,6-ジアミノヘキサン、1,8-ジアミノオクタンが挙げられる。多官能アミンとして、一種のみを用いてもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。
多官能アミンの配合割合は、ポリアミドイミドの末端の全てのカルボキシル基とビニル系ポリマーが有するカルボキシル基との間に結合構造が形成されるのに十分な配合割合であることが好ましい。ポリアミドイミドの末端のカルボキシル基の数に対して、ビニル系ポリマーが有するカルボキシル基の数が過剰である場合、過剰分のカルボキシル基に結合してキャップすることを目的として、結合構造の形成に必要な量以上の多官能アミンを配合してもよい。
(混合工程)
混合工程は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンと、溶媒とが混合されてなる液状の中間組成物を得る工程である。混合工程に用いる溶媒としては、ポリアミドイミド、ビニル系ポリマー、必要に応じて多官能アミンが溶解する溶媒を適宜選択することができる。特に、溶解性向上のため、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルアセトアミド、ジメチルスルホキシド、炭酸プロピレン、γ-ブチロラクトン、エタノール、プロパノール等の非水溶媒を用いることが好ましい。
混合工程は、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンと、溶媒とが混合されてなる液状の中間組成物を得る工程である。混合工程に用いる溶媒としては、ポリアミドイミド、ビニル系ポリマー、必要に応じて多官能アミンが溶解する溶媒を適宜選択することができる。特に、溶解性向上のため、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルアセトアミド、ジメチルスルホキシド、炭酸プロピレン、γ-ブチロラクトン、エタノール、プロパノール等の非水溶媒を用いることが好ましい。
(加熱工程)
加熱工程は、中間組成物を加熱処理することにより、中間組成物に含有されるポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとを縮合させて結合構造を形成する工程である。加熱工程における加熱温度は、結合構造の形成を促進させる観点においては、150~230℃の範囲であることが好ましい。
加熱工程は、中間組成物を加熱処理することにより、中間組成物に含有されるポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとを縮合させて結合構造を形成する工程である。加熱工程における加熱温度は、結合構造の形成を促進させる観点においては、150~230℃の範囲であることが好ましい。
また、縮合反応による結合構造の形成を促進させるために、中間組成物に脱水縮合剤を添加してもよい。脱水縮合剤としては、例えば、オキシ塩化リンが挙げられる。
加熱工程に供される中間組成物は、予備加熱処理された中間組成物であることが好ましい。予備加熱処理の温度は、40~140℃の範囲であることが好ましく、60~130℃の範囲であることがより好ましい。予備加熱処理により、中間組成物に含有されるポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとが会合して、カルボキシル基とアミノ基との縮合反応が進行しやすくなる。その結果、加熱工程において、縮合反応が効率的に進行する。予備加熱処理により、カルボキシル基とアミノ基との縮合反応が部分的に進行してもよい。予備加熱処理された中間組成物を用いる場合、加熱工程は、中間組成物に含有される溶媒を除去した状態で行うことが好ましい。この場合、カルボキシル基とアミノ基の縮合反応が進行しやすくなる。そして、加熱工程を経ることにより、第1の鎖状構造及び第2の鎖状構造を有する高分子化合物が得られる。
加熱工程に供される中間組成物は、予備加熱処理された中間組成物であることが好ましい。予備加熱処理の温度は、40~140℃の範囲であることが好ましく、60~130℃の範囲であることがより好ましい。予備加熱処理により、中間組成物に含有されるポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとが会合して、カルボキシル基とアミノ基との縮合反応が進行しやすくなる。その結果、加熱工程において、縮合反応が効率的に進行する。予備加熱処理により、カルボキシル基とアミノ基との縮合反応が部分的に進行してもよい。予備加熱処理された中間組成物を用いる場合、加熱工程は、中間組成物に含有される溶媒を除去した状態で行うことが好ましい。この場合、カルボキシル基とアミノ基の縮合反応が進行しやすくなる。そして、加熱工程を経ることにより、第1の鎖状構造及び第2の鎖状構造を有する高分子化合物が得られる。
第1の鎖状構造を、構成単位の少なくとも一部が上記の一般式(7)に示す構造であるシラン変性ポリアミドイミドとする場合、混合工程において、上記アルコキシシリル基含有化合物を混合する。この場合、ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンと、溶媒とが混合されてなる液状の中間組成物に対して、予備加熱処理した後に、上記アルコキシシリル基含有化合物を加えて、室温にて数時間撹拌することが好ましい。
[負極電極]
次に、上記高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた負極電極を製造する方法の一例について記載する。

まず、負極活物質、負極用バインダー、溶剤を混合してスラリーを調製する。その際、必要に応じて、導電助剤等の他の成分を、更に混合してもよい。負極活物質としては、二次電池等の蓄電装置の負極活物質として用いられる公知の物質、例えば、炭素系材料、リチウムと合金化可能な元素、及びリチウムと合金化可能な元素を有する化合物を用いることができる。
炭素系材料としては、例えば、リチウムを吸蔵及び放出可能な炭素系材料を用いることができ、具体例としては、難黒鉛化性炭素、天然黒鉛、人造黒鉛、コークス類、グラファイト類、ガラス状炭素類、有機高分子化合物焼成体、炭素繊維、活性炭素、カーボンブラック類が挙げられる。
リチウムと合金化可能な元素としては、例えば、Na、K、Rb、Cs、Fr、Be、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Ra、Ti、Ag、Zn、Cd、Al、Ga、In、Si、Ge、Sn、Pb、Sb、Biが挙げられる。これらのなかでも、Siが特に好ましい。
リチウムと合金化可能な元素を有する化合物としては、例えば、Na、K、Rb、Cs、Fr、Be、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Ra、Ti、Ag、Zn、Cd、Al、Ga、In、Si、Ge、Sn、Pb、Sb、Biから選ばれる元素を有する化合物が挙げられる。これらのなかでも、Siを有する化合物であるシリコン系材料が特に好ましい。
シリコン系材料としては、例えば、SiB4、SiB6、Mg2Si、Ni2Si、TiSi2、MoSi2、CoSi2、NiSi2、CaSi2、CrSi2、Cu5Si、FeSi2、MnSi2、NbSi2、TaSi2、VSi2、WSi2、ZnSi2、SiC、Si3N4、Si2N2O、SiOV(0<V≦2)、SnSiO3、LiSiOが挙げられる。これらのなかでも、SiOV(0<V≦2)が特に好ましい。
シリコン系材料として、国際公開2014/080608号に開示されるシリコン系材料、即ち、CaSi2から脱カルシウム化反応を経て得られるシリコン材料を用いることもできる。上記シリコン材料は、例えば、CaSi2を酸(例えば、塩酸やフッ化水素)で処理して得られる層状ポリシランを、脱カルシウム化(例えば、300~1000℃の加熱処理)して得られる。本実施形態の高分子化合物は、充放電時における膨張収縮の度合が大きい負極活物質であるシリコン系材料と組み合わせて用いることが、特に好ましい。負極活物質として、上記の物質のうちの一種のみを用いてもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。
スラリーに混合される負極用バインダーとしては、上記中間組成物が用いられる。負極用バインダーとして、他の負極用バインダーを併用してもよい。他の負極用バインダーとしては、例えば、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリ四フッ化エチレン、スチレン-ブタジエンゴム、ポリイミド、ポリアミドイミド、カルボキシメチルセルロース、ポリ塩化ビニル、メタクリル樹脂、ポリアクリロニトリル、変性ポリフェニレンオキシド、ポリエチレンオキシド、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリアクリル酸、フェノール樹脂が挙げられる。
これらの他の負極用バインダーのうち、一種のみを併用してもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。他の負極用バインダーを併用する場合、中間組成物の固形分は、負極用バインダーの総固形分に対して、1質量%以上含まれていることが好ましく、10質量%以上含まれていることがより好ましい。
負極活物質と負極用バインダーとの質量比における配合割合(負極活物質:負極用バインダー)は、負極活物質及び負極用バインダーの種類に応じて適宜設定することができる。上記配合割合は、例えば、5:3~99:1の範囲であることが好ましく、3:1~97:3の範囲であることがより好ましく、16:3~95:5の範囲であることが更に好ましい。
溶剤としては、二次電池等の蓄電装置の電極の作製時に用いられる公知の溶剤を、負極活物質及び負極用バインダーの種類に応じて適宜用いることができる。溶剤の具体例としては、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、メタノール、メチルイソブチルケトンが挙げられる。
導電助剤としては、二次電池等の蓄電装置の負極電極に用いられる公知の導電助剤を用いることができる。導電助剤の具体例としては、アセチレンブラック、カーボンナノチューブ、ケッチェンブラック(登録商標)等が挙げられる。これらの導電助剤のうち、一種のみを用いてもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。
スラリー中に導電助剤を含有させる場合、導電助剤と共に分散剤を含有させることが好ましい。分散剤の具体例としては、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルブチラール、トリアジン化合物等が挙げられる。これらの分散剤のうち、一種のみを用いてもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。
次いで、上記のスラリーを集電体に塗布して、集電体の表面にスラリーからなる負極活物質層を形成する。その後、負極活物質層に含有される溶媒(スラリーの溶剤、及び上記中間組成物に含有される溶媒)を除去して、負極活物質層を乾燥するとともに加熱処理することにより、負極活物質層を硬化させる。この加熱処理により、上記中間組成物に含有されるポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、必要に応じて多官能アミンとが縮合して、負極活物質層中に上記高分子化合物が形成される。上記加熱処理は、負極活物質層に溶媒が含まれている状態で行うこともできるが、先に乾燥処理を行い、負極活物質層が乾燥している状態で行うことがより好ましい。
乾燥処理及び加熱処理の具体的方法としては、例えば、常圧下又は減圧下において、熱風、赤外線、マイクロ波、高周波等の熱源を用いて加熱する方法が挙げられる。加熱処理を行う際には、負極活物質層側から加熱するよりも集電体側から加熱することが好ましい。乾燥処理は、高温で素早く加熱するよりも、低温でゆっくりと加熱することが好ましく、加熱処理は、低温でゆっくり加熱するよりも、高温で素早く加熱することが好ましい。これにより、蓄電装置の電池特性(初期効率やサイクル特性)を高めることができる。
集電体としては、二次電池等の蓄電装置の負極用の集電体として用いられる公知の金属材料を用いることができる。集電体として利用できる金属材料としては、例えば、銀、銅、金、アルミニウム、マグネシウム、タングステン、コバルト、亜鉛、ニッケル、鉄、白金、錫、インジウム、チタン、ルテニウム、タンタル、モリブデン、ステンレスが挙げられる。
本実施形態の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた負極電極は、電解質として非水電解質を備える非水系の蓄電装置に好適に用いることができる。蓄電装置としては、例えば、二次電池、電気二重層コンデンサ、リチウムイオンキャパシタが挙げられる。こうした蓄電装置は、電気自動車及びハイブリッド自動車のモータ駆動用の非水系二次電池や、パソコン、携帯通信機器、家電製品、オフィス機器、産業機器等に利用される非水系二次電池として有用である。
次に、本実施形態の作用及び効果について記載する。
(1)高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドにより構成される第1の鎖状構造と、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成され、第1の鎖状構造の末端に結合されて第1の鎖状構造同士を接続する第2の鎖状構造とを有する。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。
(1)高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドにより構成される第1の鎖状構造と、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成され、第1の鎖状構造の末端に結合されて第1の鎖状構造同士を接続する第2の鎖状構造とを有する。第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーである。
ポリアミドイミドを負極用バインダーとして用いた場合、蓄電装置の初期効率が低くなりやすい。この傾向は、ポリアミドイミドを構成する芳香環部分がπ-π相互作用に基づくスタック構造を形成することに起因していると考えられる。すなわち、初期の充放電時に、正極から放出されたリチウムイオンは、ポリアミドイミドが形成するスタック構造の層間に固定され、死蔵された状態となる。その結果、電極間を移動するリチウムイオンの総量が減少して、蓄電装置の初期効率が低下する。
ここで、本実施形態の高分子化合物は、一つの第2の鎖状構造に複数の第1の鎖状構造の末端が間隔をあけて結合された形状、例えば、第2の鎖状構造を縦部分とし、第1の鎖状構造を横部分とする梯子のような構造となっている。この構造においては、ビニル系ポリマーにより構成される第2の鎖状構造(特に、非結合性単位からなる部分)がスペーサーとして機能して、ポリアミドイミドから構成される第1の鎖状構造同士の接近が物理的に抑制される。その結果、ポリアミドイミドがスタック構造を形成することが抑制されて、ポリアミドイミドのスタック構造に起因する初期効率の低下が改善される。
(2)第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーにおいて、非結合構成単位の比率は、結合構成単位の比率よりも高いことが好ましい。この場合、スペーサーとして機能する非結合構成単位からなる部分が多くなる。これにより、ポリアミドイミド同士が近接して、スタック構造が形成されることを効果的に抑制することができる。
(3)第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーを構成する非結合構成単位は、立体障害となる側鎖を有する非結合構成単位であることが好ましい。この場合、ビニル系ポリマーにおける非結合性単量体からなる部分のスペーサーとして機能が高められる。これにより、ポリアミドイミド同士が近接して、スタック構造が形成されることを効果的に抑制することができる。
(4)第1の鎖状構造と第2の鎖状構造とは、アミド結合及びイミド結合の少なくとも一種により結合されていることが好ましい。第1の鎖状構造と第2の鎖状構造との結合構造は、上記の一般式(1)に示す構造であることがより好ましい。上記の一般式(1)について、Xは、上記の一般式(2)に示す構造であることが更に好ましい。この場合、上記(1)に記載した効果をより確実に得ることができる。
(5)第1の鎖状構造を構成するポリアミドイミドは、アルコキシシリル基を含むシラン変性ポリアミドイミドであることが好ましい。シラン変性ポリアミドイミドは、構成単位の少なくとも一部が上記の一般式(7)に示す構造であることがより好ましい。
アルコキシシリル基に基づく無機構造部分が第1の鎖状構造に付加されることにより、高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた場合、負極活物質層の密着性が向上するとともに、二次電池のサイクル特性が向上する。これらの効果は、上記無機構造部分が付加されて高分子化合物がシリカ複合化することにより、樹脂の強度が向上したことに基づく効果であると考えられる。
以下に、上記実施形態をさらに具体化した実施例について説明する。
<実施例1>
(PAIの合成)
不活性ガス雰囲気下、トリメット酸無水物10g(52mmol)、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン10.3g(52mmol)、及び1-メチルイミダゾール213mg(2.6mmol)をN-メチル-2-ピロリドン(以下、NMPと記載する。)115gに溶解させた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で100℃にて4時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量15,000のポリアミドイミド溶液を得た。
<実施例1>
(PAIの合成)
不活性ガス雰囲気下、トリメット酸無水物10g(52mmol)、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン10.3g(52mmol)、及び1-メチルイミダゾール213mg(2.6mmol)をN-メチル-2-ピロリドン(以下、NMPと記載する。)115gに溶解させた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で100℃にて4時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量15,000のポリアミドイミド溶液を得た。
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸1.205g(16.7mmol)とスチレン3.482g(33.4mmol)とをNMP11.05gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
アクリル酸1.205g(16.7mmol)とスチレン3.482g(33.4mmol)とをNMP11.05gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
得られたビニル系ポリマーは、結合性単量体(アクリル酸)と非結合性単量体(スチレン)とを1:2の割合で含むランダムコポリマーである。アクリル酸1及びスチレン2の構成単位当たりの分子量が280.37であることから、得られたビニル系ポリマーは、1分子当たり約46の結合性単量体(アクリル酸)を含む。
(中間組成物の合成)
得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.47g(固形分141mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.11gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例1の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。
得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.47g(固形分141mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.11gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例1の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。
実施例1の中間組成物に含まれるポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーとのモル比は、50:1.08(7.5/15000:0.141/13000)である。ビニル系ポリマー1分子当たりの結合性単量体の数は約46であるから、実施例1の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:1(50:1.08×46)である。
<実施例2>
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.94g(固形分282mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.11gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例2の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例2の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.94g(固形分282mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.11gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例2の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例2の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
<実施例3>
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液4.7g(固形分1.41g)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.5gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例3の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例3の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:10である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液50g(固形分7.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液4.7g(固形分1.41g)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.5gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例3の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例3の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:10である。
<比較例1>
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液を比較例1とした。
<シリコン材料の作製>
0℃で氷浴したフッ化水素を1質量%の濃度で含有する濃塩酸20mlに、CaSi25gを加えて1時間撹拌した後、水を加えて更に5分間撹拌した。反応液を濾過して得られた黄色粉体を水及びエタノールで洗浄してから減圧乾燥することにより、層状ポリシランを得た。得られた層状ポリシランをアルゴン雰囲気下で800℃にて加熱することにより、ポリシランから水素が離脱したシリコン材料を得た。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液を比較例1とした。
<シリコン材料の作製>
0℃で氷浴したフッ化水素を1質量%の濃度で含有する濃塩酸20mlに、CaSi25gを加えて1時間撹拌した後、水を加えて更に5分間撹拌した。反応液を濾過して得られた黄色粉体を水及びエタノールで洗浄してから減圧乾燥することにより、層状ポリシランを得た。得られた層状ポリシランをアルゴン雰囲気下で800℃にて加熱することにより、ポリシランから水素が離脱したシリコン材料を得た。
<電極シートの作製>
上記シリコン材料80質量部、アセチレンブラック10質量部、実施例1の中間組成物のNMP溶液10質量部を混合するとともに、この混合物にNMPを加えてスラリーを調製した。このスラリーを、集電体としての30μmの電解銅箔の表面に対して、ドクターブレード法を用いて、膜状に塗布した。そして、スラリー中のNMPを揮発させて除去することにより、電解銅箔上に負極活物質層を形成した。次いで、ロールプレス機を用いて、負極活物質層の厚さが20μmとなるように電解銅箔及び負極活物質層を圧縮することにより、電解銅箔と負極活物質層を強固に密着接合させた。その後、真空中(減圧下)にて200℃、30分の加熱処理により、負極活物質層に含まれる中間組成物を縮合反応させるとともに、負極活物質層を加熱硬化させた。これにより、特定の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして含有する電極シートを得た。また、実施例1の中間組成物のNMP溶液に代えて、実施例2~3の中間組成物、及び比較例1のポリアミドイミド溶液を用いて同様の電極シートを作製した。
上記シリコン材料80質量部、アセチレンブラック10質量部、実施例1の中間組成物のNMP溶液10質量部を混合するとともに、この混合物にNMPを加えてスラリーを調製した。このスラリーを、集電体としての30μmの電解銅箔の表面に対して、ドクターブレード法を用いて、膜状に塗布した。そして、スラリー中のNMPを揮発させて除去することにより、電解銅箔上に負極活物質層を形成した。次いで、ロールプレス機を用いて、負極活物質層の厚さが20μmとなるように電解銅箔及び負極活物質層を圧縮することにより、電解銅箔と負極活物質層を強固に密着接合させた。その後、真空中(減圧下)にて200℃、30分の加熱処理により、負極活物質層に含まれる中間組成物を縮合反応させるとともに、負極活物質層を加熱硬化させた。これにより、特定の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして含有する電極シートを得た。また、実施例1の中間組成物のNMP溶液に代えて、実施例2~3の中間組成物、及び比較例1のポリアミドイミド溶液を用いて同様の電極シートを作製した。
<リチウムイオン二次電池の作製>
電極シートを直径11mmの円形に裁断してなる負極電極(評価極)と、厚さ500μmの金属リチウム箔を直径13mmの円形に裁断してなる正極電極との間にセパレータを挟装して、電極体電池を作製した。この電極体電池を電池ケース内に収容し、非水電解質を注入してから、電池ケースを密閉することにより、リチウムイオン二次電池を得た。セパレータとしては、ヘキストセラニーズ社製ガラスフィルター及びセルガード社製celgard2400を用いた。非水電解質としては、エチレンカーボネートとジエチルカーボネートとを体積比1:1で混合した混合溶媒に、ヘキサフルオロリン酸リチウムを1Mの濃度となるように溶解した非水電解質を用いた。
電極シートを直径11mmの円形に裁断してなる負極電極(評価極)と、厚さ500μmの金属リチウム箔を直径13mmの円形に裁断してなる正極電極との間にセパレータを挟装して、電極体電池を作製した。この電極体電池を電池ケース内に収容し、非水電解質を注入してから、電池ケースを密閉することにより、リチウムイオン二次電池を得た。セパレータとしては、ヘキストセラニーズ社製ガラスフィルター及びセルガード社製celgard2400を用いた。非水電解質としては、エチレンカーボネートとジエチルカーボネートとを体積比1:1で混合した混合溶媒に、ヘキサフルオロリン酸リチウムを1Mの濃度となるように溶解した非水電解質を用いた。
<電池特性の評価>
得られたリチウムイオン二次電池について、直流電流0.2mAで負極電極における正極電極に対する電圧が0.01Vになるまで放電を行い、放電が終了してから10分後に、直流電流0.2mAで負極電極における正極電極に対する電圧が1.0Vになるまで充電を行った。このときの放電容量を初期放電容量とするとともに、充電容量を初期充電容量とした。そして、下記式に基づいて初期効率を算出した。その結果を表1に示す。
得られたリチウムイオン二次電池について、直流電流0.2mAで負極電極における正極電極に対する電圧が0.01Vになるまで放電を行い、放電が終了してから10分後に、直流電流0.2mAで負極電極における正極電極に対する電圧が1.0Vになるまで充電を行った。このときの放電容量を初期放電容量とするとともに、充電容量を初期充電容量とした。そして、下記式に基づいて初期効率を算出した。その結果を表1に示す。

また、上記の放電及び充電を1サイクルとして規定サイクルの充放電を行い、下記式に基づいてサイクル特性を算出した。その結果を表1に示す。

この結果は、ポリアミドイミドの末端とビニル系ポリマーとの間の結合構造の形成数が初期効率の向上効果に影響を与えていることを示唆している。また、ポリアミドイミドの数に対するビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数の比率が2倍以上となることで、ポリアミドイミドの全ての末端とビニル系ポリマーとの間に結合構造が形成されて、初期効率の向上効果が一定となっていることも示唆している。
また、ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーとを縮合してなる実施例1~3の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例1~3のサイクル特性の評価は、ポリアミドイミドのみからなる比較例1の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例4と同程度、又はそれ以上であった。これらの結果から、実施例1~4の高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドの特徴である高いサイクル特性を損なうことなく、初期効率を向上させることが可能であり、二次電池の負極活物質として有用であることが分かる。
<実施例4>
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とアクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル4.00g(34.4mmol)とをNMP18.5gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とアクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル4.00g(34.4mmol)とをNMP18.5gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
得られたビニル系ポリマーは、結合性単量体(アクリル酸)と非結合性単量体(アクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル)とを1:4の割合で含むランダムコポリマーである。アクリル酸1及びアクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル4の構成単位当たりの分子量が537.08であることから、得られたビニル系ポリマーは、1分子当たり約24の結合性単量体(アクリル酸)を含む。
(中間組成物の合成)
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、上記のビニル系ポリマー溶液1.64g(固形分328mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.060gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例4の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例4の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、上記のビニル系ポリマー溶液1.64g(固形分328mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.060gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例4の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例4の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
<実施例5>
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とN-[3-(ジメチルアミノ)プロピル]アクリルアミド5.30g(34.4mmol)とをNMP24.0gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とN-[3-(ジメチルアミノ)プロピル]アクリルアミド5.30g(34.4mmol)とをNMP24.0gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
得られたビニル系ポリマーは、結合性単量体(アクリル酸)と非結合性単量体(N-[3-(ジメチルアミノ)プロピル]アクリルアミド)とを1:4の割合で含むランダムコポリマーである。アクリル酸1及びN-[3-(ジメチルアミノ)プロピル]アクリルアミド4の構成単位当たりの分子量が696.98であることから、得られたビニル系ポリマーは、1分子当たり約19の結合性単量体(アクリル酸)を含む。
(中間組成物の合成)
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、上記のビニル系ポリマー溶液2.06g(固形分412mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.060gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例5の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例5の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。

<実施例6>
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とN-イソプロピルアクリルアミド3.90g(34.4mmol)をNMP18.1gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
(ビニル系ポリマーの合成)
アクリル酸0.621g(8.6mmol)とN-イソプロピルアクリルアミド3.90g(34.4mmol)をNMP18.1gに溶解させ、2,2’-アゾビス(イソブチロニトリル)41mg(0.25mmol)を加えた。そして、不活性雰囲気下で70℃にて6時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、重量平均分子量13,000のビニル系ポリマー溶液を得た。
得られたビニル系ポリマーは、結合性単量体(アクリル酸)と非結合性単量体(N-イソプロピルアクリルアミド)とを1:4の割合で含むランダムコポリマーである。アクリル酸1及びN-イソプロピルアクリルアミド4の構成単位当たりの分子量が524.7であることから、得られたビニル系ポリマーは、1分子当たり約25の結合性単量体(アクリル酸)を含む。
(中間組成物の合成)
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、上記のビニル系ポリマー溶液1.57g(固形分314mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.060gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例6の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例6の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、上記のビニル系ポリマー溶液1.57g(固形分314mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.060gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌することにより、実施例6の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例6の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
<電極シート及びリチウムイオン二次電池の作製の作製>
実施例4~6の中間組成物のNMP溶液を用いて、上記と同様にして電極シート及びリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。

<電池特性の評価>
得られたリチウムイオン二次電池について、上記と同様の方法により初期放電容量、初期効率、サイクル特性を求めた。その結果を表2に示す。

ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーとを縮合してなる実施例4~6の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例5~7のサイクル特性の評価は、ポリアミドイミドのみからなる比較例1の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例4と同程度であった。これらの結果から、実施例4~6の高分子化合物は、ポリアミドイミドの特徴である高いサイクル特性を損なうことなく、初期効率を向上させることが可能であり、二次電池の負極活物質として有用であることが分かる。
<実施例7>
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.56g(固形分168mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.60gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌した後、室温まで冷却した。その後、イソシアン酸3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル74.2mg(0.30mmol)を加えて、室温にて3時間撹拌することにより、実施例7の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例7の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.56g(固形分168mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.60gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌した後、室温まで冷却した。その後、イソシアン酸3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル74.2mg(0.30mmol)を加えて、室温にて3時間撹拌することにより、実施例7の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例7の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
<実施例8>
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.56g(固形分168mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.60gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌した後、室温まで冷却した。その後、イソシアン酸3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル371.2mg(1.5mmol)を加えて、室温にて3時間撹拌することにより、実施例8の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例8の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
実施例1と同様にして得られたポリアミドイミド溶液34.1g(固形分4.5g)に、実施例1と同様にして得られたビニル系ポリマー溶液0.56g(固形分168mg)及び4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン0.60gを加えて、室温にて30分撹拌した。その後、不活性雰囲気下で80℃にて3時間、加熱及び撹拌した後、室温まで冷却した。その後、イソシアン酸3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル371.2mg(1.5mmol)を加えて、室温にて3時間撹拌することにより、実施例8の中間組成物をNMP溶液の状態で得た。実施例8の中間組成物において、ポリアミドイミドの数とビニル系ポリマーに含まれる結合性単量体の数とのモル比は、1:2である。
<電極シート及びリチウムイオン二次電池の作製の作製>
実施例7及び実施例8の中間組成物のNMP溶液を用いて、上記と同様にして電極シート及びリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。

<電池特性の評価>
得られたリチウムイオン二次電池について、上記と同様の方法により初期放電容量、初期効率、サイクル特性を求めた。その結果を表3に示す。

<密着性の評価>
得られた電極シートを2.5cm×4cmに裁断したものを測定サンプルとして、剥離試験装置(MINEBEA社製、LTS-50N-S300)を用いて、JIS K 6854-1に準拠した90度剥離試験を行った。90度剥離試験にて測定された強度を線幅(2.5cm)で除算することにより、測定サンプルの剥離強度を算出した。また、実施例2及び比較例1の中間組成物を用いて作製した電極シートを用いて同様の試験を行った。それらの結果を表3に示す。
得られた電極シートを2.5cm×4cmに裁断したものを測定サンプルとして、剥離試験装置(MINEBEA社製、LTS-50N-S300)を用いて、JIS K 6854-1に準拠した90度剥離試験を行った。90度剥離試験にて測定された強度を線幅(2.5cm)で除算することにより、測定サンプルの剥離強度を算出した。また、実施例2及び比較例1の中間組成物を用いて作製した電極シートを用いて同様の試験を行った。それらの結果を表3に示す。
また、ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーとを縮合してなる実施例2の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例2のサイクル特性及び剥離強度は、ポリアミドイミドのみからなる比較例1の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例4と同程度であった。一方、シラン変性ポリアミドイミドとビニル系ポリマーとを縮合してなる実施例7及び実施例8の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例8及び試験例9のサイクル特性及び剥離強度は、ポリアミドイミドのみからなる比較例1の高分子化合物を負極用バインダーとして用いた試験例4よりも高くなった。試験例8及び試験例9の結果から、シラン変性ポリアミドイミドの変性度が高くなるにしたがって、初期効率の向上効果が小さくなり、サイクル特性及び剥離強度の向上効果が大きくなる傾向が確認できた。
Claims (13)
- 蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物であって、
ポリアミドイミドにより構成される第1の鎖状構造と、
ビニル系ポリマーにより構成され、前記第1の鎖状構造の末端に結合されて前記第1の鎖状構造同士を接続する第2の鎖状構造とを有し、
前記第2の鎖状構造を構成するビニル系ポリマーは、前記第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有する結合構成単位と、前記第1の鎖状構造に結合する側鎖を有さない非結合構成単位とからなるランダムコポリマーであることを特徴とする高分子化合物。 - 前記第1の鎖状構造と前記第2の鎖状構造とは、アミド結合及びイミド結合の少なくとも一種により結合されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子化合物。
- 蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物であって、
ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーとを縮合してなり、
前記ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーであることを特徴とする高分子化合物。 - 蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物であって、
ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、多官能アミンとを縮合してなり、
前記ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーであることを特徴とする高分子化合物。 - 前記多官能アミンは、芳香族多官能アミンであることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の高分子化合物。
- 蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物の中間組成物であって、
ポリアミドイミドと、ビニル系ポリマーと、溶媒とを含有し、
前記ビニル系ポリマーは、アミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成可能な側鎖を有するビニル系単量体、及びアミノ基又はカルボキシル基との間にアミド結合又はイミド結合を形成しないビニル系単量体を構成単位とするランダムコポリマーであることを特徴とする中間組成物。 - 蓄電装置の負極用バインダーとして用いられる高分子化合物の製造方法であって、

請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の高分子化合物を含有する負極用バインダーと、負極活物質とを備え、
前記負極活物質は、リチウムを吸蔵及び放出し得る炭素系材料、リチウムと合金化可能な元素、及びリチウムと合金化可能な元素を有する化合物から選ばれる少なくとも一種であることを特徴とする負極電極。 - 前記負極活物質は、CaSi2から脱カルシウム化反応を経て得られるシリコン材料、Si、及びSiOV(0<V≦2)から選ばれる少なくとも一種であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の負極電極。
- 請求項11又は請求項12に記載の負極電極と、非水電解質とを備えることを特徴とする蓄電装置。
