背面シート3の凹凸形状6の所定間隔Sは、歯部2bの所定間隔Pより小さいことが好ましい。具体的には、P/Sは、2~6が好ましい。ベルト本体2と背面シート3との接着界面の面積が増加し、接着力を高めることができる。
また、背面シート3の凹凸形状6の厚い部分の厚みに対して、凹凸形状6の凸部のみの高さは、25%~60%程度の高さを有することが好ましい。
所定間隔Sで配置される凹凸部は、例えば上向きの台形による凸部と、下向きの台形による凹部とを、規則正しく交互に配置したものである。この凹凸部は、台形によるものが好ましいが、矩形による凸部と矩形による凹部との組み合わせ、又は、半円形による凸部と半円形による凹部との組み合わせ等であってもよい。
背面シートおよびベルト本体を構成する材料として、積層した背面シート3とベルト本体2を溶融接合でき、かつ弾性を有する熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を用いる。
熱可塑性エラストマーとしては、ポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマー、ポリエステル系熱可塑性エラストマー、ポリスチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー、ポリオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマー、ポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマー、塩化ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマーなどを挙げることができる。
特に、力学特性や耐久性に優れ、伝動ベルトや搬送ベルト用途に汎用に使用されているポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマーが好ましい。
このポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマーとしては、ポリエーテル系、ポリエステル系、ポリカーボネート系のものが使用できる。
また、熱可塑性エラストマーの溶融温度は、200~230℃の範囲から選択できる。
熱可塑性エラストマー組成物には、必要に応じて慣用の添加剤、例えば相溶化剤、老化防止剤、加硫促進剤、可塑剤、充填剤、着色剤、加工助剤、加水分解防止剤等を含んでいてもよい。
特性の異なる熱可塑性エラストマーを積層させる例として、ベルト本体2は、歯部を有するため、耐摩耗性、耐屈曲性能に優れたポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマーを使用し、背面シート3には、外気での暴露が想定される局面での使用や、薬品などの付着が懸念される場合に、耐オゾン性や耐候性に優れ、また耐薬品性にも優れる塩化ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマーを使用し積層させてもよい。
心線4には、スチール繊維、アラミド繊維、ポリエステル繊維またはガラス繊維等からなる低伸度、高強力のコードが使用される。一般的に高強力、耐熱性、耐薬品性などの特性を持つアラミド繊維が好ましい。心線径は、例えば0.6~2.5mmのものが用いられる。

押圧バンド32は、成形ドラム31の上下に近接配置されたプーリ32a,32bと、これらプーリ32a,32bから離れた位置に配置されたプーリ32cとの間に巻き付けられた無端状の金属バンドである。この金属バンドは、成形ドラム31の両端の図示されないフランジの外周の半分程度に巻き掛けられる。プーリ32cは、図面の左方向に移動させられることにより、押圧バンド32に所定の張力を付与する。この押圧バンド32と成形ドラム31との間に、成形キャビティが形成される。
押出ヘッド33は、ギャビテイ入り口の手前の成形ドラム31の外周付近に配置され、溶融熱可塑性エラストマーをキャビティに向けて流出させる。この押出ヘッド33は、成形ドラムと心線列との間からキャビティに向かって配設されているものが好ましい。歯形成溝に溶融熱可塑性エラストマーを十分に供給できるからである。
心線供給装置は、心線4を成形ドラム31の軸方向に隙間を設けて並べた心線列を、成形ドラム31の外周に連続的に供給するものである。
背面シート供給装置は、背面シート3を、その凹凸形状6が心線4に向かう向きであって、押圧バンド32の外周側に連続的に供給するものである。
図4に、凹凸形状6付きの背面シート3の製造装置40の一例を示す。図3の歯付きベルト1の製造装置を部分的に変更して流用することができる。流用部分に対して、図3と同じ符号を付してその詳細な説明を省略する。
変更部分は、成形ドラム41の外周側形状と、図示されない心線供給装置及び背面シート供給装置は使用されないことである。
成形ドラム41は、筒状の外周に所定間隔Sで形成された凹凸形成溝を設けたものが用いられる。図示されないフランジも、背面シートの厚みに合った高さのものが用いられる。変更は、成形ドラム41の外周側のみ又は全体のいずれであってもよい。
この成形ドラム41を用い、心線や背面シートの供給がなく、溶融した熱可塑性エラストマー材のみの供給で、連続的に固化させることで凹凸形状付きの背面シートを製造できる。また、このように、装置の大部分を流用することにより、装置の構成を簡素化できる。
本発明の2層方式歯付きベルト1の製造方法を説明する。
まず、凹凸形状付きの背面シート3を成形する(第1工程)。
次に、凹凸形状付きの背面シート3を供給しながら、ベルト本体2となる溶融材を押出機の押出ヘッド(ダイス)33から供給して、それらを積層し、2層方式の歯付きベルト1を得る(第2工程)。
以下に詳細を説明する。
成形ドラム(金型)41を図4の矢印方向に回転駆動しながら、押出機の押出ヘッド33から加熱溶融した熱可塑性エラストマーを供給すると、成形ドラム41の回転に伴って、熱可塑性エラストマーは成形ドラム41と押圧バンド32との間のキャビティに巻き込まれる。
押圧バンド32による押圧で熱可塑性エラストマーが成形ドラム41の凹凸成形溝内に充填され、背面シート3の凹凸形状6を成形すると共に、背面シート3の背面が成形される。そして、このように成形されつつ、熱可塑性エラストマーを連続的に自然冷却固化させることによって、凹凸形状付き背面シート3が製造できる。
製造条件は、例えば熱可塑性エラストマーの溶融温度:200~230℃、成形ドラムの温度:常温~120℃、成形ドラム41の送り速度:0.1~1.0m/minである。
成形ドラム(金型)31を図3の矢印方向に回転駆動しながら、所定の本数の心線4を平行に引き揃えた心線列を成形ドラム31の外周に供給すると共に、凹凸形状付き背面シート3を、プーリ32aと成形ドラム31との間であって、押圧バンド32の外周側に供給する。
凹凸付き背面シート3と心線4がプーリ32aと成形ドラム31との間に巻き込まれると同時に、押出機の押出ヘッド33から加熱溶融した熱可塑性エラストマーを供給すると、成形ドラム31の回転に伴って、凹凸形状付き背面シート3と心線4及び、熱可塑性エラストマーは成形ドラム31と押圧バンド32との間のキャビティに巻き込まれる。
押圧バンド32による押圧で熱可塑性エラストマーが成形ドラム31の歯成形溝内に充填され、歯付きベルト1の歯部2bを成形すると共に、凹凸形状付き背面シート3と成形ドラム31の外周との間に心線4を埋設した歯付きベルト1のベルト本体2が成形される。そして、このように成形されつつ、熱可塑性エラストマーを連続的に自然冷却固化させることによって、凹凸形状付き背面シート3と歯付きベルトのベルト本体2とが溶融接合により一体化した有端の2層式歯付きベルト1が製造できる。この溶融接合は、背面シート3の凹凸形状の表面で行われ、その凹凸形状は保持されている。
製造条件は、例えば熱可塑性エラストマーの溶融温度:200~230℃、成形ドラムの温度:常温~120℃、心線、ベルトの送り速度:0.1~1.0m/minである。
このような歯付きベルト1の使用例として、図5に示すような一定範囲を往復駆動させる昇降運搬装置50がある。
この昇降運搬装置では、上方及び下方に配置された歯付きプーリ51,53と歯付きプーリ52,54に噛み合わせられる歯付きベルト55,56とが用いられる。駆動プーリである、下方左側の歯付きプーリ52が回転・逆回転駆動される。他の歯付きプーリ51,53,54は歯付きベルト55,56を介して同期駆動される。これによって、ベルト機構に動力が伝達され、2本のベルト機構に固定された荷台57に乗せられた搬送物Wが、上下に昇降する。
この歯付きベルト55,56は、上記により製造された、有端の歯付きベルト1を、所定幅、所定長さに裁断し、長さ方向の両端部を接合し、無端状にして用いられる。
この歯付きベルト55,56には、荷台57を固定するための固定具58が取り付けられる。この固定具58の一例として、日本国特開2015-3821号公報の図1に示すように、歯部と歯部の間のベルト背部を挟持するように、軸部材及び裏板を配置し、両者をネジで固定するものがある。また、固定具58の他の例として、日本国特開2009-112217号公報の図6に示すように、歯部の幅方向に貫通孔を設け、この貫通孔に軸部材を差し込み、この軸部材の先端ネジにナットをねじ込んで固定するものがある。
いずれの例でも、歯付きベルト1の背部は厚く形成されているため、十分な取付強度を備える。また、凹凸形状の接着界面を有して厚みを厚くしているため、接着界面で剥離を生じる恐れも少ない。
なお、さらに他の例として、歯付きベルト1の背部に貫通孔を設け、この貫通孔に軸部材を差し込み、この軸部材の先端ネジにナットをねじ込んで固定するものであってもよい。
図6に示す形状・寸法を有する2層方式歯付きベルトである。
ベルト幅:25mm、凹凸形状付き背面シートの厚み:2.5mm、歯ピッチ:25mm、ベルト総厚:14mm、構成材料:熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマー(背面シート、ベルト本体共)、心線径:φ1.9mm(パラ系アラミド繊維「トワロン(登録商標)」)、である。
図7に示す形状・寸法を有する2層方式歯付きベルトである。
ベルト幅:25mm、背面平シート厚み:2.0mm、ベルト歯ピッチ:25mm、ベルト総厚:14mm、構成材料、心線径:実施例と同じである。
作製したベルトから長さ125mmの試験片を採取し、引張試験機(オートグラフ)を用いて、引張試験(引張速度:100mm/min)を実施し、シートが剥離するまでの接着力の比較を行った。
その結果を、下記の表1に示す。
また、完成した2層方式歯付きベルトにおいて、凹凸形状付き背面シートとベルト本体の界面は溶着により見た目にはわからない状態でピッタリと接着されていた。

Claims (6)
- 心線列と、前記心線列の下方側に形成され、心線の長手方向に沿って所定間隔で配設された歯部と、前記心線列の上方側に形成され、心線を埋設する背面部とを、第一の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物で一体成形してなるベルト本体と、
前記ベルト本体の背面部側に接着され、第二の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物製の背面シートと、を有する歯付きベルトであって、
前記背面シートの接着側の面が凹凸形状を有する、歯付きベルト。 - 前記凹凸形状は、心線の長手方向に沿って所定間隔で凹凸部を配設したものであり、凹凸部の前記所定間隔は、歯部の前記所定間隔より小さい請求項1記載の歯付きベルト。
- 前記背面シートを形成する第二の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物は、前記ベルト本体を形成する第一の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物とは、特性が異なる請求項1又は2に記載の歯付きベルト。
- 請求項1記載の歯付きベルトの製造方法であって、
前記凹凸形状付の背面シートを成形する第1工程と、
外周に所定間隔で歯成形溝が形成してある成形ドラムと、前記成形ドラムの外周側に巻き掛けられるように配設された押圧バンドと、前記成形ドラムと前記押圧バンドとの間に形成されたキャビティに第一の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を供給する押出ヘッドと、を備えるベルト製造装置を用い、
前記成形ドラムを回転させ、
前記成形ドラムの外周に前記心線列を供給するとともに、前記押圧バンドの内周側に、前記凹凸形状が付与された背面シートを供給し、同時に前記押出ヘッドから加熱溶融された第一の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を前記キャビティに供給することにより、
前記ベルト本体を連続成形しながら、前記凹凸形状付の背面シートと前記ベルト本体とを溶融接着する第2工程と、
を備える歯付きベルトの製造方法。 - 前記押出ヘッドは、前記成形ドラムと前記心線列の間から前記キャビティに向かって配設されている請求項4に記載の歯付きベルトの製造方法。
- 前記凹凸形状付の背面シートは、
外周に所定間隔で凹凸溝が形成してある成形ドラムと、前記成形ドラムの外周側に巻き掛けられるように配設された押圧バンドと、前記成形ドラムと前記押圧バンドとの間に形成されたキャビティに第二の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を供給する押出ヘッドと、を備えるベルト製造装置を用い、
前記押出ヘッドから加熱溶融された第二の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を前記キャビティに供給することにより連続形成される請求項4に記載の歯付きベルトの製造方法。
