Abstract
Description
(I)Na含有化合物とMe含有化合物とを、NaとMeのモル比率が所定の範囲となるように混合し、得られた混合物を焼成して、Na、MeおよびOからなる合成物を得る工程と、
(II)前記合成物をNaイオンを含む溶液に接触させた状態で前記合成物を還元して、前記合成物におけるNaのモル比率を増加させる工程と、
を含む、複合金属酸化物の製造方法を提供する。
NaxMeyO2の一般式で示される組成を有し、前記式においてxが0.8<x≦1.0を満たし、yが0.95≦y<1.05を満たし、かつP2構造からなる複合金属酸化物を含む正極と、
Naイオンを吸蔵放出可能な材料を含む負極と、
Naイオンとアニオンとを含む電解質と、
を備えたナトリウム二次電池を提供する。
実施の形態1では、本発明の複合金属酸化物の実施の形態について説明する。本実施の形態の複合金属酸化物は、NaxMeyO2の一般式で示される組成を有し、この式においてxが0.8<x≦1.0を満たし、yが0.95≦y<1.05を満たす。さらに、本実施の形態の複合金属酸化物は、P2構造からなる。このような複合金属酸化物は、ナトリウム二次電池の正極材料として好適に用いられる。本実施の形態の複合金属酸化物を、xが1.0である複合金属酸化物、すなわちNaMeyO2の組成を有する複合金属酸化物とすることもできる。本実施の形態の複合金属酸化物を、xおよびyが1.0である複合金属酸化物、すなわちNaMeO2の組成を有する複合金属酸化物とすることもできる。NaMeO2の組成を有し、かつP2構造からなる複合金属酸化物は、ナトリウム二次電池の正極材料として特に優れている。
実施の形態2では、複合金属酸化物の製造方法の実施の形態について説明する。本実施の形態の複合金属酸化物の製造方法は、
(I)Na含有化合物とMe含有化合物とを、NaとMeのモル比率が所定の範囲となるように混合し、得られた混合物を焼成して、Na、MeおよびOからなる合成物を得る工程と、
(II)前記合成物をNaイオンを含む溶液に接触させた状態で前記合成物を還元して、前記合成物におけるNaのモル比率を増加させる工程と、
を含んでいる。
実施の形態3では、本発明のナトリウム二次電池の実施の形態について説明する。図1に、本実施の形態のナトリウム二次電池の模式的な構成を示す。正極集電体11とその上に形成される正極合剤層12とで正極13が構成される。負極集電体14とその上に形成される負極合剤層15とで負極16が構成される。正極13と負極16とはセパレータ17を介して互いに対向し、それらが外装18で覆われるようにして電池が形成される。
(1)複合金属酸化物の作製
Fe2O3とMn2O3をモル比で1:1となるよう秤量し、エタノールを分散剤とし12時間ボールミル混合した。混合した粉末とNa2O2とを、Na、FeおよびMnがモル比でNa:Fe:Mn=0.67:0.5:0.5となるよう秤量し、乳鉢で混合した。得られた混合粉末を空気中で900℃、12時間焼成することで、Na0.67Fe0.5Mn0.5O2を得た。合成した粉末のXRD結果を図2に示す。XRD測定は、Cuの管球を用い、加速電圧40kV、40mAで、2θ/θ法で、5度~80度(2θ)を走査することで測定した。低角度側から、15.8度、31.9度、35.3度、38.9度および43.1度付近に回折線が確認され、これらはそれぞれ(003)面、(006)面、(101)面、(102)面および(104)面に帰属する回折線であった。このXRD結果から、合成した粉末はP2構造であることを確認した。
電池の作製は、露点-60度以下、酸素値1ppm以下のAr雰囲気のグローブボックス内で行った。実施の形態3で説明した図1に示されたラミネート型ナトリウム二次電池を作製した。
還元処理が異なること以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で複合金属酸化物を含む正極を製造した。実施例1と同じ方法で作製されたP2構造のNa0.67Fe0.5Mn0.5O2を含む電極を、エチレンカーボネートとジエチルカーボネートを体積比1対2で混合した溶媒に1モル濃度のNaPF6を溶解させた電解液に浸析し、ナトリウム金属に対して1.5Vで30分保持した。その後、電極をジエチルカーボネートで2回洗浄し、真空乾燥して、本発明の複合金属酸化物を含む正極を得た。
実施例1で説明した、還元溶液による還元処理前の、P2構造のNa0.67Fe0.5Mn0.5O2を含む電極を、正極として用いた。正極が異なること以外は実施例1と同じ方法で、ラミネート型ナトリウム二次電池を作製した。
Fe2O3とMn2O3をモル比で1:1となるよう秤量し、エタノールを分散剤とし12時間ボールミル混合した。混合した粉末とNa2O2とを、Na、FeおよびMnがモル比でNa:Fe:Mn=0.75:0.5:0.5となるよう秤量し、乳鉢で混合した。得られた混合粉末を空気中で900℃、12時間焼成することで、Na0.75Fe0.5Mn0.5O2を得た。合成した粉末のXRD結果を図4に示す。測定条件は実施例1と同様である。図2に示されたP2構造に起因する回折パターンに加えて、16.2度、32.8度、36.7度、41.6度および53.1度付近の回折線を新たに確認した。これら新たな回折線は、それぞれ(002)面、(004)面、(100)面、(102)面、(104)面に帰属し、O3構造に由来するものと同定した。O3構造は、α-NaFeO2と同じ構造として知られ、空間群R3-mの対称性を有する結晶構造を示す。以上の結果から、合成した粉末は、P2構造とO3構造との混合物であることを確認した。
Fe2O3とMn2O3をモル比で1:1となるよう秤量し、エタノールを分散剤とし12時間ボールミル混合した。混合した粉末とNa2O2とを、Na,FeおよびMnがモル比でNa:Fe:Mn=1.0:0.5:0.5となるよう秤量し、乳鉢で混合した。得られた混合粉末を空気中で900℃、12時間焼成することで、Na1.0Fe0.5Mn0.5O2を得た。合成した粉末のXRD結果を図5に示す。測定条件は実施例1と同様である。16.2度、32.8度、36.7度、41.6度および53.1度付近の回折線は、それぞれ(002)面、(004)面、(100)面、(102)面および(104)面に帰属し、O3構造に由来するものと同定した。以上の結果から、合成した粉末はO3構造であることを確認した。
実施例1および2、比較例1~3の電池の充放電試験を以下の条件で行った。充放電試験は25℃の恒温槽内で行った。充電から先に開始し、20分休止した後放電し、充放電を繰り返した。充電は、正極活物質の理論容量に対して0.05Cレート(20時間率)となる電流値で、定電流定電圧で行った。充電上限電圧は4.2V、定電圧時の下限電流値は、0.0005Cレート(200時間率)とした。放電は、充電と同じく0.05Cレートで、定電流で行った。放電下限電圧は、1.5Vとした。初回の充電容量と、初回の放電容量とから、それぞれ正極活物質1gあたりの容量に換算した値(mAhg-1)を算出した。得た容量を、正極活物質の組成および結晶構造と合わせて、表1にまとめて示す。

複合金属酸化物。 - 前記MeがFeaMnbの一般式で示される組成を有し、前記式においてaおよびbが、0<a≦0.5および0.95≦a+b<1.05を満たす、
