Definitions
- the present invention relates to a ballistic fabric and a body armor made therefrom, and more particularly, to a ballistic fabric and a body armor made thereof having improved ballistic performance in a wet state (hereinafter referred to as a "wet state").
- Body armor is a garment developed to protect the human body from fragments of bullets or shells, and the most important requirement is the bulletproof performance that can reliably protect the human body from bullets or shells.
- Conventional body armor is a conventional technique for manufacturing a body armor of 10 to 50 sheets of water-repellent aramid fabric is laminated by dipping the aramid fabric in a water repellent solution containing a fluorine resin, etc., and then padded and dried. This has been widely used.
- the above-described conventional body armor has a problem in that the ballistic performance in the dry state is excellent but the ballistic performance in the wet state is deteriorated because the water repellent treatment of the aramid fabric is weak.
- the above-described conventional body armor is a level at which the rear deformation of the body armor only satisfies 44 mm or less of the NIJ (National Institute of Justice) standards when the ballistic performance test, and there is a limit to the application when more stringent rear deformation standards are required. There was a problem.
- the present invention is to provide a bulletproof fabric excellent in bulletproof performance in the wet state, and excellent anti-ballistic fabric and body armor in the rear deformation of the body armor when the anti-ballistic performance test superior to the NIJ standard.
- the water-repellent treatment of the anti-ballistic fabric is carried out over two times, so that the water-repellent layer of two layers on the anti-ballistic fabric, that is, the primary water repellent coating layer 20 and the second water repellent coating layer 30) are formed in turn, thereby improving the ballistic performance in the wet state of the body armor thus prepared.
- the first aramid prepreg (X) in which the resin is impregnated in the high elastic aramid fabric (A) and the second aramid prepreg (Y) in which the resin is impregnated in the high elastic aramid fabric (B) are heated.
- the aramid composite pad 40 which is compressed and integrally stacked, is inserted into a pocket formed in a part of the body armor, thereby greatly reducing the rear deformation of the body armor during ballistic performance.
- the present invention has excellent water repellency, and greatly improves anti-ballistic performance in a wet state. Especially, in the case of the body armor having the aramid composite pad 40 inserted therein, the rear deformation of the body armor after the anti-ballistic performance test is greatly reduced.
- FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the bulletproof fabric according to the present invention.
- Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the aramid composite pad inserted into the body armor bag of the present invention.
- the anti-ballistic fabric according to the present invention has a structure in which two water repellent coating layers, that is, a primary water repellent coating layer 20 and a second water repellent coating layer 30, are sequentially formed on the aramid fabric 10 as shown in FIG.
- the anti-ballistic fabric of the present invention is aramid fabric 10 made of warp and weft yarn made of wholly aromatic polyamide multifilament, the primary water repellent coating layer 20 formed on the aramid fabric 10 and the primary water repellent coating layer It consists of a secondary water repellent coating layer 30 formed on (20).
- FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the bulletproof fabric according to the present invention.
- the primary water repellent coating layer 20 is a resin layer containing a water repellent, preferably fluorocarbon, and 2 to 35% by weight of fluorocarbon as a water repellent is added to a resin solution in which a resin such as acrylate is dissolved in a solvent.
- the dispersed coating solution is formed on the aramid fabric 10 by dipping, spraying, or knife over roll coating.
- Various water repellents may be used as the water repellent agent included in the primary water repellent coating layer 20, but it is more preferable to use a fluorocarbon water repellent agent to improve and maintain the water repellency even in a wet state.
- Second water repellent coating layer 30 As a polyurethane resin layer in which micropores are irregularly formed, a polyurethane resin solution in which a polyurethane resin is dissolved in a solvent such as dimethylformamide is dipping on the first water repellent coating 20. It is formed by a method of coating by spray (Spray) or knife over roll (Knife over roll) coating method.
- the secondary water repellent coating layer 30 Since the secondary water repellent coating layer 30 has irregular micropores smaller than water droplets in the coating layer, the secondary water repellent coating layer 30 exhibits a waterproof function and a water repellent function to prevent the water droplets from penetrating into the aramid fabric 10 even when wet.
- Body armor according to the present invention is a bulletproof fabric of the present invention as described above, that is, aramid fabric 10 to 50 of the bulletproof fabric of the structure of the ballistic fabric of the structure formed with two layers of water-repellent coating layer (20, 30) is formed in a laminate. It is composed.
- the anti-ballistic fabric of the present invention has a structure in which two layers of water repellent coating layers 20 and 30 are sequentially formed on the aramid fabric 10, thereby greatly improving water repellency. Therefore, the body armor of the anti-ballistic fabric is greatly improved in the anti-ballistic performance in the wet state.
- the body armor is preferably a structure in which the aramid composite pad 40 as shown in FIG. 2 is inserted into a pocket formed in a part of the body armor to reduce the rear deformation of the body armor to less than 44 mm, which is the NIJ standard. .
- FIG 2 is a cross-sectional view of the aramid composite pad 40.
- the aramid composite pad 40 is a first aramid prepreg in which the resin (C) is impregnated in a high-strength aramid fabric (A) made of a wholly aromatic polyamide multifilament having a total fineness of 500 to 1,000 denier of warp and weft ( X) and a second aramid prepreg (Y) impregnated with resin (C) in a highly elastic aramid fabric (B) made of a wholly aromatic polyamide multifilament having a total fineness of 840 to 3,000 deniers of warp and weft. It is preferable that the structure which is compressed and integrally laminated to make the back deformation of the bulletproof performance test strip body armor smaller.
- the aramid composite pad 40 is a high-strength aramid fabric (A) made of a wholly aromatic polyamide multifilament of the total fineness of the warp and weft yarn 500 ⁇ 1,000 denier and a wholly aromatic poly of the total fineness of the warp and weft yarn 840 ⁇ 3,000 denier
- the highly elastic aramid fabric (B) made of amide multifilament is a hybrid structure.
- the said resin (C) is suitably selected according to the use of an aramid composite pad, For example, polyvinyl chloride resin or a phenol resin.
- an aramid composite pad For example, polyvinyl chloride resin or a phenol resin.
- the kind of said resin (C) is not specifically limited.
