Abstract
小型で取り扱いが簡単なステレオX線放射装置を提供することを目的とし、エミッタとして機能する1つのカソードと、ターゲットとして機能する2つのアノードが1つの直管状の真空容器内に配置したものであって、カソードは、冷陰極であって、かつ、容器の中央部に1つ配置され、各アノードは容器の両端部にそれぞれ配置されているとともに、容器の両端部に配置された各アノードとカソードとの間が、容器の軸線に沿って互いに接近又は離反可能に構成されていることを特徴とする。
Description
本発明は、電子線をターゲットに当ててX線を発生するX線発生装置に関し、特に1つのカソード(エミッタ)に対し2つのアノード(ターゲット)を備えたステレオX線発生装置に関する。
非破壊検査装置などに組み込まれるX線発生装置は、1本のガラス管内に電子源(エミッタ)、ターゲット及びグリッド電極(中間電極)を配置した3極構造をしている。そして、電子源とグリッド電極との間に電圧を印加して電子を発生せしめ、またグリッド電極とターゲットとの間に電圧を印加して発生した電子をターゲットに衝突させている。
上述した3極構造のX線発生装置の他に、ステレオ画像を撮影するためのX線発生装置が特許文献1に開示されている。
特許文献1に開示された装置は、被検体の立体画像を撮像するため、左画像用のX線管と右画像用のX線管とを備え、それぞれのX線管から交互に被検体にX線を照射し、一方のX線管で得られた透視画像を観察者の右目で観察できるようにし、他方のX線管で得られた透視画像を観察者の左目で観察できるようにしている。
そして、特許文献1では、透視画像の撮影拡大率を変更できるように、一対のX線管の間隔を可変としている。可変機構としては、ラックアンドピニオン機構及びボールネジ機構が具体的に挙げられている。
立体画像を得る目的ではないが、特許文献2には、1つの真空管内に複数のカソードと円盤状をなすアノードを配置している。アノードは複数のセグメントから構成され、カソードから放射される電子線を、回転するアノードのセグメントに当てることで、セグメント毎に強度が異なるX線を取り出す装置が開示されている。
立体画像の拡大像を撮影する場合、単に撮影した画像を拡大しただけでは画像粒子が粗くなり画質が低下する。拡大像を得るには、X線管と被検体との距離、及びX線管とX線検出器との距離を変更する必要がある。
一方、立体画像(ステレオ画像)を得るには、左画像用のX線管と右画像用のX線管を必要とし、X線管と被検体との距離、及びX線管とX線検出器との距離を変更しただけでは、被検体の端の部分がX線照射領域の不安定な端部にかかってしまうため、左右のX線管間の距離を変更する必要がある。
特許文献1に開示されるステレオX線管装置は、2つのX線管を用意する必要があるため、装置全体が大型化し、部品点数も増えることになる。
特許文献1に開示されるステレオX線管装置にあっては、拡大画像を撮影するため、2つのX線管を並列に配置し、これらをラックアンドピニオン機構やボールネジ機構を用いて互いに接近/離反することで、2つのX線源(焦点)の位置を可変としている。
通常の倍率の立体画像と拡大像では、1呼吸で被検体の位置がずれたり器官の形が変化することがあるので、通常の倍率の立体画像と拡大像の撮影は1つの心拍内で行うことが好ましい。しかしながら、特許文献1に開示される装置はラックアンドピニオン機構やボールネジ機構を用いているので、バックラッシュ等に起因して応答速度が遅くなる。
一方、特許文献2に開示されるX線発生装置は、回転するアノードは複数のセグメントから構成されるため、1つの管内に複数のアノードが配置されているのと実質的には同等である。しかしながら、各セグメントに対応してカソードも配置されているので、カソードも複数個配置されることになる。
また、2つのアノード間の距離を可変とすることについては何ら開示されていない。

上記課題を解決するため、本発明に係るステレオX線発生装置は、エミッタとして機能する1つのカソードと、ターゲットとして機能する2つのアノードが1つの直管状の真空容器内に配置され、前記カソードは、冷陰極であって、かつ、前記容器の中央部に1つ配置され、前記各アノードは前記容器の両端部にそれぞれ配置されているとともに、前記容器の両端部に配置された各アノードと前記カソードとの間が、前記容器の軸線に沿って互いに接近又は離反可能に構成されていることを特徴とする。
この軸線に沿った接近・離反の手段は一つには限定されない。例えば、電磁石への通電、ソレノイドへの通電またはアノードの回転によることが考えられる。
前記カソードとしては従来の熱フィラメントを採用すると、通電による電子発生のため、安定化するには時間を要するし、電子発生量を瞬時に変えることができない。このため、本発明にあっては、電子の放出に外部からの加熱エネルギーを用いないコールドカソード(冷陰極)を用いた。この冷陰極としては、電子放出面にはカーボンナノチューブ、グラフェンまたはカーボンナノウォール及び特殊形状ナノカーボン構造体などの炭素膜を形成したものが好ましい。
本発明に係るステレオX線発生装置によれば、1つのX線発生管によって離れた2か所からX線を発生させることができ、また当該X線の発生源の間隔を変化させることができる。
特に、X線の発生源の間隔の変化を瞬時に行うことができるため、被検体の立体画像の撮影及び立体画像の拡大に優れている。
以下に本発明の好適な実施例を添付図面に基づいて説明する。図1は本発明に係るステレオX線発生装置を適用した撮影装置の全体図であり、被検体Mを載置するテーブルTの上方に本発明に係るステレオX線発生装置1が配置され、テーブルTの下方に透過したX線を検出するX線検出器Fが配置されている。
また、ステレオX線発生装置1は左右に離間した2つのX線発生源S1、S2を有しており、これらX線発生源S1、S2から発生したX線の照射幅を制限する絞り板PがステレオX線発生装置1の直下に配置されている。
前記X線発生源S1は右画像用のX線発生源であり、X線発生源S2は左画像用のX線発生源である。そして、右画像を右目で左画像を左目で同時に見ることで立体画像が認識される。
上記の立体画像を拡大するにはステレオX線発生装置1と被検体Mの距離D1及びステレオX線発生装置1とX線検出器Fの距離D2を変更する。また、倍率を大きくすると被検体MがX線照射幅から外れたり外端部にかかってしまうため、D1またはD2の変更に合わせて、2つのX線発生源S1、S2間の距離D3も変更する。
以下に2つのX線発生源S1、S2間の距離D3も変更可能とした本発明に係るステレオX線発生装置1を図2に基づいて説明する。ステレオX線発生装置1の本体はセラミックまたはガラスなどの絶縁性材料から構成され、直管状をなし内部は真空状態となっている。
ステレオX線発生装置1の本体の中央部は大径部1aとされ、この大径部1a内にカソード2が配置されている。カソード2は、ブロック状の金属ベースの対向する2面に凹部3が形成されており、この凹部3の表面に炭素膜を形成し、この面を電子放出面としている。炭素膜は、例えばカーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン、カーボンナノウォール及び特殊形状ナノカーボン構造体等をCVDによって形成したものである。
また、本体の両端は小径部1bとされ、この小径部1b内にタングステンまたはモリブデンからなるアノード4が配置されている。
アノード4は電子線が当たる先端が傾斜面とされ、後端は管1に形成した開口から外側に突出し、この後端と開口との間にベローズ5を設け、管1内の真空状態を維持するとともにアノード4を軸方向に移動可能としている。アノード4の先端面は前記したX線発生源S1、S2に相当する。
アノード4は電子線が当たる先端が傾斜面とされ、後端は管1に形成した開口から外側に突出し、この後端と開口との間にベローズ5を設け、管1内の真空状態を維持するとともにアノード4を軸方向に移動可能としている。アノード4の先端面は前記したX線発生源S1、S2に相当する。
また、管1の大径部1aと小径部1bとの境界部には中間電極6(接地電極)を設けている。
前記カソード2と中間電極6との間に電圧を印加することでカソード2から電子が放出される。更に中間電極6と前記アノード4との間に電圧を印加することで、放出した電子が接地電極アパーチャーで収束し、加速してターゲットであるアノード4に衝突してX線が発生する。
前記カソード2と中間電極6との間に電圧を印加することでカソード2から電子が放出される。更に中間電極6と前記アノード4との間に電圧を印加することで、放出した電子が接地電極アパーチャーで収束し、加速してターゲットであるアノード4に衝突してX線が発生する。
アノード4の後端よりも更に外側には電磁石7を配置している。この電磁石7は絶縁体の先端に取り付けられている。而して、電磁石7に通電すると瞬時にアノード4の後端を吸着する。即ち左右のアノード4、4は軸方向外方に移動する。その結果2つのX線発生源S1、S2間の距離D3が瞬時に拡大したことになる。
図3に示す別実施例は電磁石ではなく、アノード4の後部に磁性体8を取り付け、また本体の両端の外側にソレノイド9を配置し、ソレノイド9に通電することでアノード4が軸方向に沿って進退動するようにしている。
図4に示す別実施例はアノード4の先端形状に工夫を凝らすことで、アノード4を進退動させることなく、左右のアノード4、4間の距離(X線発生源S1、S2間の距離D3)を可変としたものである。
即ち、アノード4の先端には傾斜角度は同じであるが、軸方向の位置がことなる第1の傾斜面4aと第2の傾斜面4bが位相をずらせて形成されている。そしてアノード4を軸廻りに180゜回転させることで第1の傾斜面4aと第2の傾斜面4bとを入れ替えることでX線発生源間の距離D3が変化する。
即ち、アノード4の先端には傾斜角度は同じであるが、軸方向の位置がことなる第1の傾斜面4aと第2の傾斜面4bが位相をずらせて形成されている。そしてアノード4を軸廻りに180゜回転させることで第1の傾斜面4aと第2の傾斜面4bとを入れ替えることでX線発生源間の距離D3が変化する。
以上は、本発明の一実施例を示したものであり、アノードを進退させる或いは回転させる手段は上記に限らず任意である。またステレオX線発生装置1の本体の形状も任意であり、例えば、管を2分割或いは3分割することで組み立てに有利にすることも考えられる。
本発明に係るX線発生装置は、携帯型の非破壊検査装置や携帯型の蛍光X線用X線発生装置として利用することができる。

Claims (10)
- エミッタとして機能する1つのカソードと、ターゲットとして機能する2つのアノードが1つの直管状の真空容器内に配置され、
前記カソードは、冷陰極であって、かつ、前記容器の中央部に1つ配置され、
前記各アノードは前記容器の両端部にそれぞれ配置されているとともに、
前記容器の両端部に配置された各アノードと前記カソードとの間が、前記容器の軸線に沿って互いに接近又は離反可能に構成されていることを特徴とするステレオX線発生装置。 - 前記カソードと前記各アノードの間に、グリッド電極として機能する中間電極をそれぞれ配置したことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
- 前記カソードが、ブロック状の金属ベースの対向する2面に凹部が形成されたものであって、該凹部の表面に炭素膜からなる電子放出面が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
- 前記炭素膜が、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン又はカーボンナノウォール、又は特殊形状ナノカーボン構造体のいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
- 前記アノードの先端が傾斜面を有していることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
- 前記アノードの先端が傾斜面を有していることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
- 前記各アノードの先端と反対側には磁性体が取り付けられ、前記容器の軸線に沿った前記各アノードの接近又は離反は、前記容器の両端部に設けられた電磁石又はソレノイドへの通電によって行われることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のX線発生装置。
- 前記各アノードの先端と反対側には磁性体が取り付けられ、前記容器の軸線に沿った前記各アノードの接近又は離反は、前記容器の両端部に設けられた電磁石又はソレノイドへの通電によって行われることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のX線発生装置。
- 前記傾斜面が、前記軸線を挟んで互いに異なる側に設けられた、傾斜角度は同じであるが軸方向の位置が異なる二つの傾斜面で構成され、
前記アノードを前記軸線を中心として180度回転させることによって、前記アノードと前記カソードとの間を接近又は離反させることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のステレオX線発生装置。 - 前記傾斜面が、前記軸線を挟んで互いに異なる側に設けられた、傾斜角度は同じであるが軸方向の位置が異なる二つの傾斜面で構成され、
前記アノードを前記軸線を中心として180度回転させることによって、前記アノードと前記カソードとの間を接近又は離反させることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のステレオX線発生装置。
