Description

MAT AVEC AFFAIBLISSEMENT CONTROLE NOTAMMENT POUR ELEMENT DE SIGNALISATION ET PROCEDE D'OBTENTION MAT WITH WEAKENING CONTROL IN PARTICULAR FOR SIGNALING ELEMENT AND METHOD OF OBTAINING
Domaine technique Technical area
The present invention relates to a mast with controlled weakening, said fusible mast, especially for road signs, billboards or other. The present invention also relates to a method for obtaining such a fuse pole.
Road signs are frequently put in place by means of signaling elements such as signs, traffic lights, carried by masts secured to the roadway or on any type of support. These masts are usually metallic. They consist of a pole in the form of a tubular shaft coupled at one of its ends to fastening means. According to a first configuration of implantation, the fixing means comprise a base in the form of a support plate and adapted to allow the attachment of the assembly, for example on a plate provided on the ground. The plate is for example formed by the upper face of a foundation provided in the ground. The connection between the post and the base can be provided by threaded rods anchored in the foundation.
According to a second configuration of implantation, the mast comprises a portion intended to be buried on a sufficient driving height, for example at least 60 cm. The portion intended to be buried defines at least part of the fixing means. In this second configuration, the end of the post may be provided with an anti-recess plate to limit the variation of the depth of penetration of the mast.
The base plate and the anti-sink plate Implant configurations previously described may be obtained by molding, forging, stamping or any other suitable method. The base and the anti-recess plate can be secured to the mast by bolted jointing, welding, crimping, gluing or any other suitable technique.
Le guide technique intitulé « Traitement des obstacles latéraux sur les routes principales et hors agglomération » édité en 2002 par la SETRA, précise notamment les règles à respecter pour les obstacles fixes, à savoir :  Whatever their configuration (mast on platinum or buried mast), these masts, which are an integral part of the urban development, nonetheless constitute fixed obstacles, punctual, aggressive, which increase the risk of collision and therefore the dangerousness of traffic . According to the regulation, the term "fixed obstacle" means any rigid element of a height, in relation to the running surface of road vehicles, greater than 20 cm with a maximum resistant moment greater than 570 daN.m. Due to the dangerous nature of fixed obstacles, the construction and installation of these masts are regulated. The technical guide entitled "Treatment of lateral obstacles on main and off-road roads" published in 2002 by SETRA, specifies in particular the rules to be respected for fixed obstacles, namely:
- la mise en place du mât au-delà de la zone de sécurité,  - the installation of the mast beyond the safety zone,
- la mise en place du mât derrière une barrière de sécurité,  - the installation of the mast behind a safety barrier,
- The use of fuse pole or deformable mast or so-called energy absorption.
The EN 12767 standard entitled "Passive Safety of Road Equipment Support Structures - Requirements and Test Methods" describes a a method that allows, on the basis of standard real impact tests, the evaluation and classification of masts, as appropriate, in the category of masts without energy absorption
(NE) ou dans la catégorie des mâts à absorption d'énergie(NE) or in the category of energy absorbing masts
(LE ou HE) . (LE or HE).
Some known fusible poles include in particular a shaft coupled to a sole by a "fragile" mechanical connection intended to break in particular in case of collision between a vehicle and the fusible mast. This "fragile" type mechanical connection is for example obtained by means of a coupling structure comprising mechanical connection pieces, a connection sleeve bonded for example between two portions of the post, a system of special deformable washers, a base with a spherical joint pivotable. In each of these solutions, mechanical links require additional pieces to couple the barrel and the flange or base to its attachments in the ground. This solution is therefore complicated to implement and expensive.
Exposé de l'invention Presentation of the invention
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by proposing an alternative fuse pole including signal element, having no part or additional mechanical system and therefore easy to implement. The present invention also aims to provide a simple and reproducible manufacturing process for obtaining reliable fusible masts.
The invention relates to a fuse mast particular for road signaling element comprising a longitudinal shaft provided in at least one end "of fixing means for fixing the fuse mast on a support so that the support and the fusible mast share a plan transverse junction. This fusible mast is remarkable in that the barrel comprises at least one controlled weakening zone distinct from the fastening means, at which the structure of the material is different from that of the portions of the barrel adjacent to said controlled weakening zone. so that the controlled weakening zone is formed without material removal and has a maximum peak moment resistance lower than that of the barrel portions adjacent to the controlled weakening zone, the controlled weakening zone being provided on the periphery of the and being able, in the event of a lateral impact of a predetermined intensity on the shaft, to favor the deformation and then the rupture of the shaft at the level of the zone of controlled weakening, without preferential orientation, to allow at least the deformation of a portion of the barrel relative to the fastening means.
The fuse pole according to the invention is therefore simple to achieve.
Indeed, to achieve this mast according to the invention, it is sufficient to provide the barrel of a zone located on the periphery of the. barrel, of the same material as the barrel, but having undergone a treatment such that the physical and mechanical properties of the local zone are different from the physical and mechanical properties of the adjacent portions of the barrel that surround it (in particular having a lower maximum resistant moment to that of the portions). To realize the barrel, it is therefore understood that it is not necessary to resort to additional realization steps, in particular the step of removing material to weaken the barrel at the level of the controlled weakening zone . In other words no recess (light or slot) is made at the periphery of the barrel to weaken said area. By allowing deformation and breaking of the barrel at the level of the controlled weakening zone, it allows, during a collision between a vehicle and the fusible mast, to limit the deceleration experienced by the passengers of the vehicle, and / or do not aggravate an accident by constituting a fixed obstacle against which the vehicle could be crushed by another, which can occur especially at street intersections.
The height of the predetermined controlled weakening zone is preferably between 10 and 50 mm.
This is a sufficient height that allows the shaft to deform and break locally at the controlled weakening zone without weakening the overall structure of the drum which continues to perform its usual function for which it is intended.
Advantageously, the median zone of the controlled weakening zone is located at a distance from the transverse junction plane less than or equal to 200 mm.
The fastening means comprise a transverse base forming at least partly the fastening means and coupled to the barrel by a mechanical connection, the lower face of the base defining the transverse junction plane when the fuse pole is in its normal use. The mechanical connection is for example a bolted connection, a weld bead, a crimping, a bonding or any other suitable mechanical connection.
The barrel advantageously comprises a portion intended to be buried in the ground, this portion defining at least partly the fastening means, the intersection between the ground and the barrel being intended to define the transverse junction plane when the fusible mast is in its normal use.
According to a preferred embodiment, the zone of controlled weakening is continuous. It is thus understood that the maximum resistance moment (which is less than that of the zones adjacent to the zone) is the same at any point of said controlled weakening zone.
The drum is for example made in one of the materials selected from the group consisting of aluminum alloys, hardened steels, high yield strength steels.
The invention also relates to a method for obtaining a fusible pole, in particular for a road signaling element, during which a longitudinal shaft coupled to fastening means for fixing the fusible pole on a support is produced so that the support and the fusible mast share a transverse junction plane. This process is remarkable in that at least one controlled weakening zone is produced on the barrel that is distinct from the fastening means at which the structure of the material is modified so that the zone of controlled weakening is achieved. without material removal and has a maximum resistance moment lower than that of the portions of the barrel adjacent to the controlled weakening zone, the controlled weakening zone being provided on the periphery of the barrel and being adapted, in case of side impact of a predetermined intensity on the barrel, to promote the deformation and rupture of the barrel at the controlled weakening zone, without preferential orientation, to allow at least the deformation of a portion of the barrel relative to the fastening means.
According to a first mode of implementation, the zone of weakening controlled by local heat treatment is carried out, without addition of material, by means of a heat treatment device making it possible to raise locally the temperature of the drum, at the level of the weakening zone controlled, beyond the transformation temperature of the material forming the drum.
According to a second embodiment, the region of weakening controlled by local melting, without input and without removal of material, is carried out by means of a melting device making it possible to locally raise the temperature of the drum, at the level of the zone of controlled weakening, beyond the transformation temperature of the material forming said barrel.
According to these two embodiments of the invention, the shaft, locally at the level of the weakening zone, does not undergo any treatment or machining process, whatever it may be. We do not remove material and we do not add part or additional mechanical system.
The methods used consist in plastically deforming the material locally at the weakening zone to obtain the desired moment of resistance.
It suffices to subject the barrel at the level of said zone to heat treatment or melting to obtain this weakening of the zone.

Other advantages and features will become more apparent from the following description of a fusible pole and its method of production according to the invention with reference to the appended figures in which:

Meilleure manière de réaliser l'invention Best way to realize the invention
In the present application, the term "fusible mast" is used to designate two types of categories of masts with controlled weakening, called fusible poles, which meet different regulations.
A first category concerns fuse poles not classified as a "fixed obstacle" which do not constitute, legally speaking, fixed obstacles in relation to road vehicles and are considered as non-hazardous. These unclassified fuse poles "fixed obstacle" are for example used as:
- toute autre application compatible.  - any other compatible application.
The wind resistance capacity of this non-classified "fixed obstacle" fuse pole allows complementary applications to the poles approved to date, particularly for larger panels.
A second category concerns fusible masts classified as "fixed obstacle" or so-called passive masts. The fusible poles of this second category have dimensions greater than those of the first category and offer greater flexural strength (greater than 570 daNm). These fusible masts classified "fixed obstacle" are for example used as:
- supports de grandes dimensions P°ur panneau de signalisation verticale, - mâts d'éclairage, - large supports P ° ur vertical sign, - lighting masts,
- support de panneaux publicitaires ou similaires, - support of billboards or the like,
- poteaux de lignes électrique et/ou téléphonique.- poles of electric and / or telephone lines.
With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, the fuse pole 1 according to the invention comprises a longitudinal shaft 2, coupled to fixing means 3. In the example of the present application, the term "shaft" is understood to mean an elongate hollow element, but can be full also. In the example shown, the barrel 2 has a circular section of longitudinal axis A and is cylindrical. The barrel 2 has for example a diameter of 120 mm and a thickness of 3 to 4 mm.
In other embodiments not shown, the barrel may have a polygonal section. It can also be conical, or even have several variations in diameter along its length.
Le support et le mât fusible 1 partagent le plan de jonction transversal P. The barrel 2 is for example made of aluminum alloy, hardened steel, steel obtained by thermomechanical rolling or any other suitable material. Materials sensitive to controlled weakening of the mechanical and physical properties resulting from heat treatment or melting are preferably selected. For example, alloys of aluminum capable of hardening by precipitation (so-called hardening alloys) and / or hardened by work hardening which have this particularity, in particular aluminum alloys of the 6000 series, are used. Hardened-tempered, quenched hardened states are specially adapted. It is also possible to use hardened high tensile strength steels, such as in particular a high yield strength steel such as, for example, the S500 ™ grade. Metallurgical recrystallization phenomena, which occur through heat treatment or melting, lead to a significant decrease in the strength and hardness of the steel with simultaneous improvement in ductility (elongation and necking). In the example shown, the barrel 2 comprises a base 3 forming the fastening means. This base 3 is in the form of a substantially flat and square plate disposed substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis A of the barrel 2. The base 3 is traversed at its corners by orifices 6 allowing the passage of flanges. (not shown) attachment to a support (not shown). The flanges are for example formed by threaded rods and the support comprises for example a mounting plate formed by the upper face of a foundation provided in the pavement. The base 3 is connected to the shaft 2 by a mechanical connection 5 made by bolted jointing, welding, crimping, bonding or any suitable mechanical connection. The base 3 is for example made of aluminum alloy, hardened steel or any other suitable material compatible with the assembly by welding with the barrel 2. The base 3 can also be made of a material different from that used for the 2. The fusible pole 1 thus formed is intended to be used according to the first configuration configuration previously described, namely above the ground, fixed to a support anchored in the ground. In this embodiment, the means for fixing the barrel comprise the base 3, the flanges (not shown) and the weld bead 5. The support and the fuse pole 1 share the transverse junction plane P.
According to an alternative embodiment not shown, the shaft and the base are coupled by any other suitable means. The barrel and the base can also be formed of a single piece.
According to a second embodiment not shown, the shaft is intended to be used according to the second configuration configuration previously described, namely partially buried ground. According to this configuration, one end of the barrel is intended to be buried in the ground. This end may or may not be provided with an anti-recess plate. In this variant embodiment, the fastening means of the fusible mast comprise in particular the portion of the drum intended to be buried and the anti- ¬ depression plate when it is present.
According to another embodiment not shown, the barrel may be provided with fastening means in a form different from those previously described.
The barrel 2 has a localized controlled weakening zone 4 obtained without removal of material. It has a maximum maximum resistance moment to the rest of the barrel 2 so that in case of lateral bias of a predetermined intensity on the barrel 2, the controlled weakening zone 4 promotes the inclination of the barrel 2 with a deformation of the barrel 2. one of its ends closest to the fastening means, more precisely in the example of the figures, its lower end. The zone of controlled weakening 4 breaks, in the event of impact on the shaft, in part or in whole, and the shaft 2 is lying on the ground, torn off or not from its support so as not to constitute a fixed obstacle.
The entire barrel 2 has a resistant moment allowing it to withstand normal conditions of use, especially the wind, especially for fusible poles intended to support panels, traffic lights. In this particular case, the zone of controlled weakening 4 has a maximum resistant moment less than that of the drum, in particular, at 570daN. The controlled weakening zone 4 makes it possible, in the event of a lateral impact on the barrel 2, necessarily offset with respect to the controlled weakening zone 4, at a distance and an intensity such that the torque generated on the controlled weakening zone 4 is greater than 570daN, that the barrel 2 deforms or even breaks at the level of the zone 4. This shock is for example caused by the collision of a vehicle with the fuse pole 1.
The maximum resistance moment of the controlled weakening zone 4 is of course adapted according to the needs and in particular according to the destination of the fuse pole 1, according to the first category: fusible poles not classified "fixed obstacle", or according to the second category: fusible masts classified as "fixed obstacle".
This controlled weakening zone 4 is provided at the fasteners, in particular, above the base 3 and the mechanical connection 5, in this example made by a weld bead, so that the zone median of the controlled weakening zone 4 is remote from the transverse junction plane P by a distance D less than 200 mm.
Thus, the controlled weakening zone 4 is provided towards the lower end (i.e. that which is provided with the fixing means) of the fusible pole 1 when it is in place on its support. The controlled weakening zone 4 is preferably offset with respect to the mechanical connection 5 while being close to the end of the barrel 2.
Furthermore, this zone has a median surface, not shown in the figures, which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the barrel 2.
This particular arrangement of the controlled weakening zone 4 makes it possible to dissociate the maintenance function in normal use condition of the fuse pole 1, the function of securing by deformation and breaking of the fuse pole 1 in the event of a violent side impact. Moreover, as will be apparent later in the description, it is thus possible to control the formation of the controlled weakening zone 4 and therefore the precision with which it allows deformation and breakage of the drum 2.
It is of course use fusible poles forming an angle and whose base is fixed vertically for example to the wall of a building. It is also possible, in certain particular configurations, to use the suspended fuse rods. In this case, the controlled weakening zone is clearly heard towards the upper end of the fuse pole, when the barrel is in the suspended fixed position, (i.e. the one provided with the fixing means).
The controlled weakening zone 4 is provided on the periphery of the barrel 2, on a predetermined height H of between 10 and 50 mm, so as to form a thin portion of which the median plane is perpendicular to the plane containing the longitudinal axis. A barrel, and this without the creation of recess such as light or slot at this area.
The fact that the zone of controlled weakening 4 is peripheral, allows it to have no preferential orientation and that it allows the deformation and then the breakage of the shaft 2 depending on the direction and the intensity of the impact lateral that he undergoes. FIG. 3 illustrates a fusible pole 1 after lateral impact, on which it is observed that a part of the periphery of the barrel 2, at the level of the controlled weakening zone 4 is deformed, another part is broken, thus allowing the Fusible mast 1 to bend around the controlled weakening zone 4, and to be lying on the ground so as not to constitute a fixed obstacle.
In the illustrated example, the controlled weakening zone 4 is continuous. It can also be formed by successive sections, regularly along the periphery of the fuse pole. The sections can be oriented, for example, perpendicular or parallel to the longitudinal axis of the fuse pole. More precisely, the periphery of the barrel 2 at this periphery remains continuous and there are sections of controlled weakening zone without removal of material or addition of additional parts.
According to the second embodiment, not shown, with the barrel partly buried in the ground, the transverse junction plane corresponds to the plane of intersection between the ground and the barrel. For this mode of use, a controlled weakening zone is provided at a distance of up to 200 mm from this transverse junction plane. The weakening zone may be provided above the ground or buried.
To obtain a fusible pole 1 according to the invention, a longitudinal shaft 2 is produced, for example by spinning. A base 3 is made separately which is assembled with a mechanical connection 5 to the shaft 2, for example by means of a peripheral weld bead at the end of the shaft 2.
On the barrel 2, a controlled weakening zone 4 peripheral to the barrel 2, having a predetermined height H and having a maximum resistance moment smaller than that of the portions of the barrel 2 tangent to the controlled weakening zone, is produced.
In order to generate the controlled weakening zone 4, the local heat treatment technique or the local melting technique, for example, without the removal of material, is used. This technique is implemented before or after the assembly of the base 3 to the shaft 2. For each of these techniques, a heat treatment device is used respectively, a melting device making it possible to raise the temperature of the shaft 2, locally, at the desired controlled weakening zone 4, beyond the transformation temperature of the material forming the 2. The TIG process is used, for example. Since the operation of producing this controlled weakening zone 4 is distinct from that of the connection between the base 3 and the barrel 2, it can be performed in a controlled manner in order to obtain fine mechanical characteristics, especially for the moment. resistant. The welding operation of the base 3 on the shaft 2 can thus be managed in a conventional manner, the weld bead 5 and the controlled weakening zone 4 having distinct functions for distinct zones.
Once the fusible mast 1 set up on its support and serving for example road signs, its general resistance time allows it to withstand especially the effect of wind on the signaling elements that it carries, for example panel, fire tricolor. In the event of a collision of a vehicle with the fuse pole 1, the zone of controlled weakening, the maximum resistance moment of which is less than that of the portions of the fuse pole 1 tangent to the controlled weakening zone 4, is veiled, then gives way , thus avoiding causing a dangerous deceleration for the passengers of the vehicle. The rupture of the fusible mast, especially in case of violent impact, may be brutal, almost immediate, without visible prior deformation. The fusible pole according to the invention may be approved by means of actual impact tests mentioned above.
According to an embodiment not shown, the controlled weakening zone may be covered with a coating serving as corrosion protection and may improve the appearance of the fusible pole at the level of the controlled weakening zone.
Thus, as this area does not include a recess such as slot or light, there is no risk of clogging if it covers this area of coating under penalty to render this zone of controlled weakening ineffective.
Possibilités d'application industrielle  Possibilities of industrial application
As indicated above, the fuse pole 1 according to the invention designates any fuse pole not classified "fixed obstacle" and any fuse pole classified "fixed obstacle". The fuse pole 1 according to the invention can serve as a mast for traffic lights, road signs, signaling mast for intersections between trams and roadways, billboard, billboards, telephone lines, power lines or for any other similar use.
In the case of the first category of fuses 1 not classified as a "fixed obstacle", the controlled weakening zone may be designed to have a maximum resistance moment below the limit value required by the 570 daN.m. . The verification of the compliance of the fusible mast 1 with this criterion can be carried out by simple bending test (without effect of speed) or by a finite element computation taking into account the zone of controlled weakening.
In the case of the second category grouping fusible masts 1 classified "fixed obstacle", the support is intended, in case of impact of a vehicle to yield to the base of the fuse pole 1 without causing deceleration dangerous for passengers. These fusible poles 1 thus provide passive safety.
The fusible poles 1 according to the invention can be approved according to the performances obtained during two tests of standardized shocks according to the categories without energy absorption (NE) or energy absorption (LE or HE).
The fusible mast according to the invention does not require any additional mechanical part or system. It does not require no more removal of material at the weakening zone.
As such, it is simple to achieve. The fuse pole according to the invention can be integrated into any urban or rural environment, it can be used on public roads, in private properties, in car parks, traffic areas such as airports, or any other suitable place.
It is understood that the example described is only a particular illustration and in no way limiting the fields of application of the invention. Those skilled in the art may provide arrangements of size, shape and material to the particular embodiment and the installation method without departing from the scope of the present invention.
