Abstract

The present invention relates to novel processes tor the preparation of sunitinib and salts thereof, in particular sunitinib (2S)-2-hvdroxybutanedioate. The invention further relates to novel intermediates, their use in the preparation of sunitinib or salts thereof and to processes for the preparation of said intermediates. The invention also relates to compositions comprising sunitinib or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts.Formula (IV).
