Description

Digital broadcast receiver with multi-screen display function
The present invention relates to a digital broadcast receiving apparatus having a function of displaying a plurality of screens.
Conventionally, a display device having a two-screen display function for simultaneously displaying two images on one display panel has been proposed. Patent Document 1 discloses a display device having such a two-screen display function.
This display device detects the presence or absence of a synchronization signal of each video signal input from a first receiving system (also referred to as an input system) and a second receiving system, and inputs each from both the first and second receiving systems. When the synchronization signal of the video signal is detected, the video of the video signal input from both receiving systems is displayed on two screens on one display panel. In addition, when a synchronization signal of a video signal input from any one of the first or second reception systems is detected, the video of the video signal input from the reception system detecting the synchronization signal is displayed on one display panel. One screen is displayed.
このようなマルチメディア放送を受信するため、携帯端末に、現在搭載されているISDB(Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting)-T(ワンセグ・UHF帯)に加え、ISDB-Tmm(VHF-H帯)、ISDB-Tsb(VHF-L帯)のマルチメディア放送受信機能が搭載されることが予想される。 By the way, the current analog television broadcasting is stopped in July 2011, and multimedia broadcasting newly allocated to the analog television frequency band (VHF band) is scheduled to start. In order to receive such multimedia broadcasting, ISDB-Tmm (VHF-H band), ISDB- in addition to ISDB (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting) -T (One Seg / UHF band) currently installed in mobile terminals. It is expected that a multimedia broadcast receiving function of Tsb (VHF-L band) will be installed.
Since these broadcasting systems have a lot in common, there is a high possibility that a user interface is provided on the mobile terminal so that the user is not aware of the broadcasting system. In addition, ISDB-Tsb and ISDB-Tmm will also introduce a download service, so there is a possibility that receiving terminals equipped with double tuners will become mainstream, considering the use case of downloading while watching real-time broadcasting.

However, in the above-described conventional technology, when displaying on two screens, even when an image is not visible on one screen or when there is no information to be viewed, the two-screen display continues. That is, even if the screen is continuously viewed, the screen display continues even if new information cannot be obtained.
When an image is not visible on one screen, or when there is no information to be viewed (a state where new information cannot be obtained even if the screen is continuously viewed), for example, there is no video, a still image continues, This is the case when the reception status is poor.
Here, in the case where the reception state is bad, Patent Document 1 describes that the display device automatically switches between the two-screen display and the one-screen display by detecting the synchronization signal of the video signal. . However, in the invention of Patent Document 1, when two videos displayed on two screens are viewed using a mobile terminal, the location where the synchronization signal of the video signal can be received and the location where the synchronization signal cannot be received are frequently moved. Switching between the two-screen display and the one-screen display is frequently performed, which may cause discomfort to the viewing user.
In addition, when still images are continuing, while two types of video images broadcast in different broadcasting systems (ISDB-T, ISDB-Tsb) are displayed on two screens, for example, the broadcasting format ISDB- This is a case where the Tsb moving image becomes a still image and the state continues. Unlike a moving image, the user only has to view this still image for a certain period of time, and there is little need for continuous viewing. Even in such a case, the two-screen display is continued.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and is provided with a multi-screen display function for displaying a plurality of videos corresponding to a plurality of digital broadcast signals input from a plurality of receiving systems on a single display unit. The antenna X101 is an antenna used for ISDB-Tsb broadcast reception, for example, and is composed of a broadcast wave receiving earphone antenna that can be attached to and detached from the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1.
The antenna Y102 is, for example, an antenna used for ISDB-T (one-segment) broadcast reception, and is composed of a built-in antenna built in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1.
Based on the control of the broadcast reception control unit 110, the antenna switching unit 103 selects whether the digital broadcast signal output to the tuner X104 or the tuner Y105 is acquired from the antenna X101 or the antenna Y102, and uses it according to the selection result. Switch the antenna.
The tuner X104 demodulates a digital broadcast signal transmitted by both the ISDB-T and ISDB-Tsb broadcast systems to obtain a TS (Transport Stream). Then, this TS is output to the multimedia decoder X106.
Similarly to the tuner X104, the tuner Y105 outputs TS to the multimedia decoder Y107.
The multimedia decoder X106 decodes TS included in the digital broadcast signal transmitted by both the ISDB-T and ISDB-Tsb broadcasting systems, and obtains a video signal / audio signal from the TS output from the tuner X104. Then, this video signal is output to the display control unit 108, and this audio signal is output to the audio switching unit 109.
Similarly to the multimedia decoder X106, the multimedia decoder Y107 also obtains a video signal / audio signal from the TS, outputs this video signal to the display control unit 108, and outputs this audio signal to the audio switching unit 109.
The display control unit 108, based on the control of the broadcast reception control unit 110, performs a one-screen display process for displaying the video signal input from the multimedia decoder X106 or Y107, and the video input from the multimedia decoder X106 and Y107. A two-screen display process for displaying the video of the signal is executed.
For example, when the resolution of the display unit 202 is FWVGA (854 × 480 pixels), the video corresponding to the video signal included in the digital broadcast signal input from the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107 is both QVGA16: In the case of 9 (320 × 180 pixels), the display control unit 108 enlarges the display area of each video by 4/3 times, and displays the video of the video signal input from the multimedia decoder X106 on the left side of the display unit 202. The video of the video signal input from the multimedia decoder Y107 is displayed on the right side of the display unit 202.
Further, the display control unit 108 controls the display number and display area of the video on the display unit 202 by detecting the presence or absence of a video signal in the digital broadcast signal being received by the detection unit 110a of the broadcast reception control unit 110 described later. To do. Details of this control process will be described later.
The audio switching unit 109 selects one of the audio signals input from the multimedia decoder X106 and the multimedia decoder Y107 under the control of the broadcast reception control unit 110, and outputs the selected audio signal to the speaker 208.
特に、放送受信制御部110は、マルチメディアデコーダX106、Y107に対して解析対象のPSI(Program Specific Information)/SI(Service Information)のPID(Packet IDentity)を指示し、マルチメディアデコーダが出力するパケットからセクションを構築、解析する。 The broadcast reception control unit 110 controls various processes related to the digital broadcast signal reception process. For example, the broadcast reception control unit 110 controls the antenna switching unit 103 to execute control for switching the antennas X101 and Y102 connected to the tuners X104 and Y105. The broadcast reception control unit 110 also performs operation control of the tuners X104 and Y105 and the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107. In particular, the broadcast reception control unit 110 instructs the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107 to specify PID (Packet IDentity) of PSI (Program Specific Information) / SI (Service Information) to be analyzed, and the packet output by the multimedia decoder Build and analyze sections from
In addition, the broadcast reception control unit 110 causes the display control unit 108 to perform a display screen switching process from a one-screen display to a two-screen display, which will be described later, or a display screen switching process from a two-screen display to a one-screen display (hereinafter referred to as “display screen switching process”). , Abbreviated as display screen switching processing). Specifically, the broadcast reception control unit 110 gives an instruction regarding the enlargement / reduction ratio, display / non-display, and display position of the video that the display control unit 108 controls to display.
The detecting unit 110a detects the presence / absence of a video signal in the digital broadcast signal being received based on a table in which the presence / absence information of the video signal included in the digital broadcast signal is recorded. This table is, for example, a PMT. The PMT is a table included in the number of programs in the MPEG2TS of the digital broadcast signal, and is configured as an MPEG2 section.
In the PMT, a program number used for program identification, additional information on the program, and information on ES (Elementary Stream) belonging to the program are recorded. That is, the PMT records PIDs such as video and audio included in the program together with a number called a PMT stream format type.
The detection unit 110a can detect the presence / absence of the video ES in the TS, that is, the presence / absence of the video signal in the digital broadcast signal, by referring to the number called the PMT stream format type.
The detection unit 110a is a determination unit that determines whether information such as a new image can be obtained from a digital broadcast signal being received based on a table in which presence / absence information of a video signal is recorded.
The display control unit 108 controls the display number and display area of the video on the display unit 202 by detecting the presence or absence of a video signal in the digital broadcast signal being received by the detection unit 110a.
For example, when the detection unit 110a detects a digital broadcast signal without a video signal from the digital broadcast signals being received, the display control unit 108 displays a plurality of videos on the display unit 202. The video display processing corresponding to the digital broadcast signal that does not exist is stopped, and the video corresponding to the digital broadcast signal including the video signal is enlarged and displayed on the display unit 202.
The timer 111 supplies timer resources necessary for broadcast reception processing by the broadcast reception control unit 110. The present invention exemplifies a case where two-screen display is continued for a certain period of time or when it is necessary to acquire information from the tuner every certain period of time. This is realized by setting a desired value for.
The memory 112 is a storage unit that stores various control information and the like.

The display screen switching process executed in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1 according to the present invention will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
In the following description, a series of processing composed of digital broadcast signal reception processing and demodulation processing by the tuner X104 and multimedia decoder X106, and various processing for video signals and audio signals included in the demodulated digital broadcast signals. This system is called the first receiving system, and is composed of digital broadcast signal reception processing and demodulation processing by the tuner Y105 and multimedia decoder Y107, and various processing for video signals and audio signals included in the demodulated digital broadcast signals. A series of processing systems are referred to as a second receiving system.
In addition, the user uses the digital broadcast receiving device 1 to view the video (also referred to as service) corresponding to the digital broadcast signal transmitted by the ISDB-T (One Seg) system in the first reception system, and receive the second reception. Assume that a video corresponding to a digital broadcast signal transmitted by the ISDB-Tsb system is being watched. Note that the present invention is not limited to the combination of the broadcast formats, and for example, a digital broadcast signal transmitted by the ISDB-Tsb method may be received by the first reception system.
Here, the service being viewed in the first receiving system is referred to as service 1, and the service being viewed in the second receiving system is referred to as service 2.
In this state, the display control unit 108 of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1 displays two videos corresponding to two digital broadcast signals input from the first reception system and the second reception system on the display unit 202. .
In step S1, the detection unit 110a monitors the PMT included in the digital broadcast signal input from the first reception system and the second reception system. In the following description, the case where the video signal is no longer included in the ISDB-Tsb format digital broadcast signal input from the second receiving system will be described as an example. At this time, information indicating that there is no video signal in the digital broadcast signal is newly recorded in the PMT included in the digital broadcast signal input from the second receiving system, and the PMT is updated.
When the detection unit 110a detects that the PMT has been updated (step S2 / YES), the broadcast reception control unit 110 receives PMT packets from the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107. Then, the broadcast reception control unit 110 builds and analyzes the PMT section of the PMT packet. Based on the PMT analyzed by the broadcast reception control unit 110, the detection unit 110a detects the presence / absence of a video signal in a digital broadcast signal including the PMT (step S3).
When the detection unit 110a detects that there is no video signal in the digital broadcast signal including the PMT (step S3 / detects a digital broadcast signal without a video signal), whether or not the display control unit 108 is executing a two-screen display process. Is determined (step S4).
Here, since two screens are being displayed (step S4 / YES), the display control unit 108 stops the video display processing corresponding to the digital broadcast signal having no video signal (step S5), and converts the digital broadcast signal having the video signal. The corresponding video is enlarged and displayed on the display unit 202 (step S6). That is, the display control unit 108 controls the display number of the video on the display unit 202 to 1 and enlarges the display area of the video to be displayed.
Thereafter, when the input of both digital broadcast signals input from the first reception system and the second reception system is stopped (step S7 / YES), the broadcast reception control unit 110 ends all the processes. When the input of the digital broadcast signal is continued (step S7 / NO), the process returns to step S1.
When the processing in steps S5 and S6 is finished and one-screen display is being executed, the detection unit 110a detects that the digital broadcast signal that has lost the video signal has the video signal again. Then (step S3 / detecting a digital broadcast signal having a video signal), the detection unit 110a determines whether or not the display control unit 108 is executing a two-screen display process (step S8).
In the above example, since only the video of service 1 is displayed on the display unit 202, that is, one screen is being displayed (step S8 / NO), the display control unit 108 enlarges the video (step S6). The service 1) is reduced and displayed (step S9), and the display processing of the video (service 2) corresponding to the digital broadcast signal having the video signal is started (step S10). That is, the display control unit 108 controls the display number of the video on the display unit 202 to 2 and controls the video display area so that two videos are displayed in the display unit 202.
In the above description, the PMT update of service 1 (ISDB-T (one seg)) is not mentioned, but in the case of one seg, the video component is unlikely to disappear, so this case is ignored.
When the digital broadcast signal received by the first reception system and the second reception system is the ISDB-Tsb system, if the digital broadcast signal received by the first reception system and the second reception system does not include a video signal (service 1 and service 2 have no video component), the broadcast reception control unit 110 instructs the display control unit 108 to stop video display corresponding to both digital broadcast signals. When the display unit 202 is an LCD, the backlight can be turned off, and excessive power consumption can be suppressed.
When switching audio, the broadcast reception control unit 110 controls the audio switching unit 109 based on an instruction given by the user through the key input unit 201, and which audio of the service 1 or service 2 is presented to the user. decide.
In this way, the video signal disappears, and for example, by stopping the video display processing of the digital broadcast signal including only the audio signal, the video of the digital broadcast signal having the video signal can be enlarged and displayed. Can be comfortably viewed.
(Variation 1 of Example 1)
(If still images continue)
As a variation 1 of the first embodiment, a display screen switching process according to the present invention will be described in the case of switching to a two-screen display of a moving image and a still image while viewing both moving images in two-screen display.
In order to realize the display screen switching process, the detection unit 110a further includes a function of detecting whether the video of the digital broadcast signal is a moving image or caption information / still image (including / not including caption). This subtitle is a character supermarket composed of character information such as news and program information.
Here, the still image may include not only a still image such as a landscape image or a person image (not including subtitles) but also a subtitle (including subtitles). Various methods can be adopted as a method for detecting whether the image is a moving image or a still image. The detection of caption information will be described later.
For example, the detection unit 110a refers to the description content of the video decoding control descriptor of the PMT. When the video of the video signal included in the digital broadcast signal is a still image, still_picture_flag described in the PMT video decode control descriptor is 1. In addition, the detection unit 110a may notify the broadcast reception control unit 110 that the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107 analyze the format and data content of the input video data and that the broadcast reception control unit 110 is a still image. In addition, the detection unit 110a stores, in a memory within the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107, each pixel data of a still image video signal obtained as a result of video decoding, for example, 320 × 180 bitmap data, for a predetermined time (several seconds to several seconds). 10 seconds) and remember. And the detection part 110a may detect the difference of the pixel data of the two bitmap data memorize | stored after fixed time, and when there is no difference, you may judge that it is a still image.
This detection unit 110a determines whether or not information such as a new image can be obtained from the digital broadcast signal being received, whether the video of the digital broadcast signal is a moving image, caption information / still image (including / not including caption) It is a judgment part which judges by detecting.
When the detection unit 110a detects that the video signal included in the digital broadcast signal being received is a still image, the display control unit 108 displays a plurality of videos on the display unit 202 for a certain period of time. After the elapse of time, the video display processing of the still image is stopped and the video of the moving image is enlarged and displayed on the display unit 202. This fixed time is a time sufficient for a user to obtain information from a still image for several seconds to several tens of seconds. In this case, the video display processing of the still image is stopped, and the reception of the digital broadcast signal is continued.
3 and 4 are flowcharts for explaining such display screen switching processing.
In the flowchart of FIG. 3, the processes of steps S11 to S17 are the same as those of steps S1 to S7 of FIG. 2, and in the flowchart of FIG. 4, the processes of steps S22 and S23 are the same as steps S9 and S9 of FIG. Since it is the same as S10, its description is omitted.
The detection unit 110a detects that the PMT has been updated (step S12 / YES), and further detects that there is a video signal in the digital broadcast signal including the PMT (step S13 / digital broadcast signal having the video signal). It is determined whether or not the video of the video signal is a still image (step S18).
In the case of a still image (step S18 / YES), the detection unit 110a determines whether two screens are being displayed (step S19).
If two screens are being displayed (step S19 / YES), the display control unit 108 stops the still image display process after a predetermined time has elapsed (step S20), and proceeds to step S16.
When the image is not a still image (step S18 / NO), the detection unit 110a determines whether or not two screens are being displayed (step S21).
When two screens are being displayed (step S21 / YES), the process proceeds to step S17. When the two screens are not being displayed (step S21 / NO), the process proceeds to step S22.
Thus, after displaying a still image for a certain period of time, the still image display processing is stopped, and the moving image is displayed in an enlarged manner, thereby providing a better viewing environment for the user. At this time, since the still image is displayed for a certain period of time, the possibility that the user misses the still image can be minimized.
The display control unit 108 may restart the still image display process based on a key operation from the user while the still image display process is stopped.
It goes without saying that the above processing can also be applied to the case of two-screen display of a moving image and a still image from the beginning.
Incidentally, while still image display processing is stopped, the content of this still image may be updated, and the user needs to know the updated content of the still image. In particular, when subtitles are included in a still image, if the subtitle content is updated, the user needs to know the updated subtitle content. Therefore, the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1 according to the present invention displays the contents of the updated still image.
In order to realize this display processing, the detection unit 110a further has a function of detecting whether or not a still image has been updated. As a method for detecting whether or not this still image has been updated, as described above, the detection unit 110a obtains a 320 × 180 bitmap obtained as a result of video decoding in the memory in the multimedia decoders X106 and Y107. Each pixel data of the data is stored after a certain time, and the difference between the pixel data of two bitmap data stored after a certain time is detected, and if there is a difference, the still image is updated. There is a way to judge.
When the detection unit 110a detects that the still image for which the video display process has been stopped has been updated, the display control unit 108 displays the enlarged video in a reduced size and restarts the still image video display process. .
FIG. 5 is a flowchart for explaining such display screen switching processing.
In the following description, as described with reference to the flowcharts of FIGS. 3 and 4, it is assumed that the still image display process is stopped and only the video image is displayed.
In step S31, the detection unit 110a monitors whether a still image whose display is stopped has been updated. When it is detected that the still image has been updated (step S32 / YES), it is next determined whether or not two screens are being displayed (step S33).
In the above-described example, since the still image video display is stopped and only the video image is displayed, that is, since one screen is being displayed (step 33 / NO), the display control unit 108 displays the displayed video image. The reduced image is displayed (step S34), and the still image display process is started (step S35). Then, the display control unit 108 stops the still image display processing after a predetermined time has elapsed (step S36), and enlarges and displays the moving image being displayed (step S37).
(Variation 2 of Example 1)
By the way, while the still image display processing is stopped, the digital broadcast signal including the still image video signal may newly include subtitle information (also referred to as text super) such as extraordinary news. As described above, when a digital broadcast signal including subtitle information is newly received, the user needs to know the subtitle information. Therefore, the digital broadcast receiving apparatus 1 according to the present invention displays the content of the subtitle information.
In order to realize the display processing of the caption information, the detection unit 110a further has a function of detecting whether or not caption information is included in the digital broadcast signal being received. As a method for detecting whether or not caption information is included in the digital broadcast signal being received, for example, there is a method for detecting a caption ES included in the digital broadcast signal.
When the detection unit 110a detects that the subtitle information is included in the digital broadcast signal including the video signal of the still image for which the video display process has been stopped, the display control unit 108 displays the enlarged video in a reduced size. At the same time, the subtitle information included in the digital broadcast signal is displayed. When there is no change in the caption information, the display control unit 108 shifts to a one-screen display after a predetermined time has elapsed.
(Variation 3 of Example 1)
The presence or absence of a video signal in a digital broadcast signal may be detected by referring to data in a broadcast TS other than the PMT, such as an EIT (Event Information Table) in which program information is described, as well as the PMT. In this case, when detecting information such as a character string indicating that the broadcast has no video by referring to the EIT program information, the detection unit 110a determines that there is no video signal in the received digital broadcast signal.
Thus, by executing the display screen switching process based on PSI / SI information such as PMT and EIT, switching in units of program broadcast time becomes possible, and the convenience for the user increases.
(Example 2)
(When reception is bad)
In the second embodiment, a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that executes display screen switching processing based on the reception quality value of a digital broadcast signal being received will be described. This digital broadcast receiving apparatus includes functional blocks having the same configuration as the functional block diagram described in FIG.
The tuner X104 and the tuner Y105 described in FIG. 1 output a CN value indicating the reception quality value of the received digital broadcast signal to the broadcast reception control unit 110. In addition, as information indicating the reception quality value, there are an RSSI value (Received Signal Strength: Received Signal Strength Indicator), a bit error rate, and the like.
The detection unit 110a of the broadcast reception control unit 110 detects the reception quality value of the digital broadcast signal being received based on this CN value.
The detection unit 110a is a determination unit that determines whether information such as a new image can be obtained from the digital broadcast signal being received by detecting the reception quality value of the digital broadcast signal being received.
The display control unit 108 controls the display number and display area of the video on the display unit 202 based on the reception quality value of the digital broadcast signal being received detected by the detection unit 110a.
The above process will be specifically described. The detection unit 110a stores the CN value of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104 in the memory 112 with a time interval. Similarly, the detection unit 110a stores the CN value of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner Y105 in the memory 112 with a time interval.
The time interval is set to several hundreds of milliseconds, and the detection unit 110a executes a storage process for the memory 112 based on the timer resource supplied from the timer 111.
Then, the detection unit 110a calculates an average value (also referred to as a moving average value) of the CN value of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104 stored in the memory 112, and whether the average value is less than a predetermined value (threshold value). Determine whether. When the average value of the CN values is less than the predetermined value, the display control unit 108 cannot display the video of the digital broadcast signal because the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104 does not satisfy the predetermined reception quality. If there is, the video display processing of this digital broadcast signal is stopped.
Similarly, the detection unit 110a calculates the average value of the CN values of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner Y105 stored in the memory 112, and determines whether the average value is less than a predetermined value. When the average value of the CN values is less than the predetermined value, the display control unit 108 does not satisfy the predetermined reception quality of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner Y 105, and the video of the digital broadcast signal cannot be displayed. If there is, the video display processing of this digital broadcast signal is stopped.
The display screen switching process can be executed based on, for example, a display screen switching table shown in FIG.
The display screen switching table 50 has a display state column 51 and a determination result column 52.
The display state column 51 records a screen display state indicating whether one screen is currently displayed, two screens are displayed, or not displayed. For example, when one screen is being displayed, the video signal (service 1) included in the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104 is displayed, and the video signal included in the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner Y105 (service 1). It is recorded that service 2) is hidden. The display screen switching table 50 is stored in the memory 112, for example.
In the determination result column 52, the reception quality value of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104 is not less than a predetermined value / less than the predetermined value, and the video (service 1) of this digital broadcast signal can be displayed / cannot be displayed. Similarly, the reception quality value of the digital broadcast signal input from tuner Y105 is not less than a predetermined value / below the predetermined value, and the video (service 2) of this digital broadcast signal can be displayed / cannot be displayed. It is recorded.
For example, when the service 1 is currently displayed and the service 2 is not displayed, the detection unit 110a detects that the service 1 cannot be displayed and the service 2 can be displayed. The unit 108 executes the one-screen display in which the service 1 video is hidden and the service 2 video is enlarged and displayed as shown in the screen switching process (5).
FIG. 7 is a flowchart for explaining the display screen switching process based on the reception quality value.
The detection unit 110a calculates the average value of the CN values of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner X104, and determines whether the average value is less than a predetermined value (step S41). In addition, the detection unit 110a calculates the average value of the CN values of the digital broadcast signal input from the tuner Y105, and determines whether the average value is less than a predetermined value (step S42).
And the display control part 108 performs a display screen switching process based on the determination result of the detection part 110a, and the display screen switching table 50 (step S43).
Thereafter, when the input of both digital broadcast signals input from the first reception system and the second reception system is stopped (step S44 / YES), the broadcast reception control unit 110 ends all the processes. When the input of the digital broadcast signal is continued (step S44 / NO), the process returns to step S41.
By doing this, it is possible to reflect in real time changes in the reception status at the mobile terminal, where the reception status of the broadcast wave changes every moment as the user moves. Further, it is possible to prevent frequent display screen switching processing by determining whether or not to execute display screen switching processing based on a moving average of reception quality values obtained from a tuner.
It should be noted that the predetermined value (threshold value) that is referred to when determining whether or not the video of the digital broadcast signal can be displayed can be freely adjusted. For example, when the current display state is two screens, a threshold value that is referred to when determining whether a digital broadcast signal image can be displayed or cannot be displayed, that is, a display screen switch from a two-screen display to a one-screen display. Threshold value that is referred to in processing and threshold value that is referred to when determining whether or not a digital broadcast signal image can be displayed when the current display state is one screen, that is, from one screen display to two screens By changing the threshold value referred to in the display screen switching process to display, it is possible to further prevent the display screen switching process from occurring frequently. For example, the threshold value referred to when shifting from the one-screen display to the two-screen display is made larger than the threshold value referred when shifting from the two-screen display to the one-screen display.
This threshold value can be, for example, a bit error rate capable of error correction when receiving a digital broadcast signal. Further, this threshold value may be set to a value smaller than the bit error rate to allow a state in which block noise is mixed in the display image.
Further, the detection unit 110a may calculate an average value from the CN values stored in the memory 112 in the past few seconds. Thus, the average value of the reception quality values is calculated in order to suppress the influence when the CN value temporarily decreases or increases temporarily due to the movement of the user.
(Variation 1 of Examples 1 and 2)
It is also possible to apply the display screen switching process of the present invention to a digital broadcast receiving apparatus provided with three or more receiving systems. In this case, the display control unit 108 corresponds to the digital broadcast signal when the detection unit 110a detects a digital broadcast signal having no video signal from among the digital broadcast signals input from three or more reception systems. The video display is stopped and the video corresponding to the digital broadcast signal having the video signal is enlarged and displayed. The same applies when the display screen switching process is executed based on the reception quality value.
