Abstract

L'invention porte sur un casse-tête en trois dimensions, dont la couche externe est divisée en une série d'éléments dont certains sont mobiles. Les éléments mobiles d'au moins deux formes différentes sont disposés en n = 6 ou 4 anneaux circulaires à intersection mutuelle encerclant le casse-tête. Les anneaux s'étendent suivant de grands cercles déterminés sur une sphère par leurs intersections avec des plans qui sont parallèles à des faces d'un dodécaèdre ou d'un octaèdre régulier circonscrit autour de la sphère. Dans les espaces entre les anneaux se trouvent des éléments de remplissage uniques additionnels d'au plus deux types différents (3 n ) et (7 n ). Ils sont immobiles et constituent les éléments situés le plus à l'extérieur du corps de base central. Les pièces annulaires mobiles (4 n ) et (5 n ) sont mutuellement verrouillées avec ceux-ci et entre elles à l'aide d'extensions (8 n ), (9 n ) disposées sur leurs côtés invisibles arrière. Un principe de l'utilisation du casse-tête consiste en un repositionnement par coulissement des éléments mobiles par rotations séquentielles des anneaux autour du centre du casse-tête d'un angle de 360/(n-1) degrés. En particulier, l'invention porte sur un casse-tête ressemblant à un ballon de football standard, qui est un solide constitué de 12 pentagones et 20 hexagones, ainsi que d'autres solides polyédriques et leurs équivalents sphériques. Dans une version représentant le ballon de football type, les hexagones sont créés à partir des éléments triangulaires mobiles (46) et à partir de moitiés des éléments rhomboédriques mobiles (56). Le mouvement des anneaux consiste en un repositionnement simultané des éléments rhomboédriques (56) et triangulaires (46) alternant dans l'anneau. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de détermination de la forme géométrique des pièces du casse-tête.
