Abstract

The invention relates to a mid-level spreader (4) for a tripod (1), comprising a base (5) and three spreader arms (6) which are each articulated to the base (5) on a first of their two ends, the base (5) having an adjustable stop (11) against which the first ends of the spreader arms (6) come to rest, each of the spreader arms (6) having a respective control cam (15a) on the first end, said control cam interacting with a respective control surface (11a) on the stop (11) in such a manner that the maximum possible spreader angle (α) of the spreader arms (6) relative to the base (5) can be continuously changed by adjusting the stop (11).
