Abstract

同一の被写体を撮像した複数の画像データを入力する画像入力手段と、画像入力手段によって入力した複数の画像データを合成することにより合成画像データを生成する画像合成手段と、複数の画像データのうちの１つを基準画像データとして選択し、基準画像データと合成画像データのそれぞれに対して、分割領域の画質を比較して、合成画像データの画質が向上している分割領域が含まれている合成処理範囲を選択する合成処理範囲選択手段と、合成処理範囲選択手段によって選択された合成処理範囲の合成画像データに対して、合成処理範囲外の基準画像データを合成することにより高解像度化画像を生成する高解像度画像生成手段を備える。これにより、複数の撮像デバイスのばらつきによる画質劣化を低減するとともに、高速に高解像度画像を合成することができる。
