Abstract
본 발명은 액정 표시 장치 및 영상 표시 방법에 관한 것으로, 이 장치는 복수의 게이트선, 게이트선과 교차하는 복수의 데이터선, 그리고 게이트선 중 하나와 데이터선 중 하나에 각각 연결되어 있는 복수의 화소를 포함하는 액정 표시판 조립체, 그리고 화소에 영상 신호를 제공하는 구동부를 포함한다. 이때, 액정 표시판 조립체는 비표시 영역 중 적어도 일측이 절단되어 제거되어 있으며, 구동부는 제거된 비표시 영역과 인접한 제1 표시 영역에 블랙을 표시한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 영상을 표시하는 영역을 블랙으로 둘러쌀 수 있어서 영상이 전체 화면에서 치우침 없이 균형 있게 표시되어 표시 품질을 향상시킬 수 있다.
