Abstract
内燃機関の気筒内における燃焼をリッチ空燃比で行うリッチ燃焼と、同燃焼をリーン空燃比で行うリーン燃焼とを交互に実行することで、吸蔵還元型NOx触媒における空燃比及び温度をSOxの還元放出が可能な状態とするSOx再生処理において、吸蔵還元型NOx触媒からのSOxの還元放出をより短期間で完了できる技術を提供する。リーン燃焼が実行されるリーン期間において、排気管に設けられた燃料供給弁から燃料を排気に供給することで、吸蔵還元型NOx触媒の温度をSOxの還元放出が可能な高温に維持する。また、リッチ燃焼が実行されるリッチ期間においては、吸蔵還元型NOx触媒をリッチ雰囲気としてSOxを還元放出させる。さらにリーン期間においても、燃料添加弁からの燃料添加によって排気の空燃比をリッチとして吸蔵還元型NOx触媒からSOxを還元放出させる。
