Abstract

Disclosed is an adsorbent agent which can adsorb and remove ions including a fluorine ion, a phosphorus ion, an arsenic ion, a selenium ion and a chromium ion in a solution, which can maintain its shape in water at a high level and therefore can be packed in a column or the like upon use, and which can be used repeatedly by the desorption/regeneration thereof. Specifically disclosed is an adsorbent agent capable of adsorbing a toxic ion contained in water, which comprises a composite granule composed of a water-containing iron oxide particle containing at least one member selected from Zr, Ce, Hf, La and Y and an organic polymer resin selected from at least one ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin or polyvinyl acetal resin, and which has an average grain size of 0.3 to 3.0 mm, a pore volume of 0.1 to 0.5 cm3/g and a compressive strength of 3 to 20 N, wherein the water-containing iron oxide particle has an average primary particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 μm and contains Zr, Ce, Hf, La and Y in the total amount of 3.0 to 30 wt%, and wherein the organic polymer resin is contained in an amount of 3.0 to 10 wt%.
