Die Presse nach dem Scherenprinzip hat den Nachteil der aufwendigen Konstruktion und des grosseren Raumbedarfs. Die Presse mit direkt wirkendem Zylinder hat den Nachteil, bei engen Platzverhältnissen nur einen kurzen Pressweg zu ermöglichen. Gemäss Fig.l und Fig.2 besteht der Abfallverdichter aus einer druckstabilen Trägereinheit, bestehend aus Grundplatte, Seitenstrebe und Deckenstrebe, die ein transportables, einbaufähiges Trägergestell bilden, auf welchen die Bauelemente des Abfallverdichters vormontierbar sind, wobei an der Deckenstrebe eine Umlenkrolle montiert ist. Eine Umlenkrolle 8a ist so positioniert, dass das darüber laufende Zugseil 7 lotrecht ins Zentrum der Pressplatte gerührt werden kann, wo das Seil fest mit der Pressplatte verbunden ist. Die Druckfeder wird lotrecht zwischen der Deckenstrebe und der Pressplatte angebracht und durch eine geeignete Verbindung zu der Deckenstrebe gegen Verrutschen gesichert. Ebenso wird die Pressplatte mit der Druckfeder verbunden. Über eine zweite Umlenkrolle 8b wird das Zugseil 7 so umgelenkt, dass es parallel zu einer an der Seitenstrebe 3 befestigten Spindel 2 verläuft und an der auf der Spindel 2 frei beweglichen Mutter 11 befestigt werden kann. Die Spindel 2 ist parallel zur Seitenstrebe angebracht und an beiden Enden so gelagert, dass sie um die Längsachse drehbar ist, sich aber nicht weiter verschieben kann. Die Spindel wird von einem drehrichtungsunabhängigen Motor M angetrieben. Auf diese Weise kann die Mutter 11, welche mittels geeigneter Einrichtung gegen Verdrehen gesichert ist, parallel zur Seitenstrebe auf und ab bewegt werden. Die Endpositionen der Bewegung der Mutter 11 werden durch Endschalter definiert. Die Mutter wird mit dem Ende des Seils 7 fest verbunden. Die Länge des Seiles ist so bemessen, dass es gerade mit der Pressplatte A auf der einen Seite und der Mutter 11 auf der anderen Seite verbunden werden kann, wenn die Druckfeder entspannt ist und sich die Mutter an der oberen Endposition befindet. Sind Mutter und Pressplatte auf diese Weise miteinander verbunden, wird während dem Pressvorgang die Druckfeder entspannt, wobei die Pressplatte die Federkraft auf das zu pressende Gut überträgt. Die Mutter auf der Spindel 2 fahrt während dem Pressvorgang an die obere Endposition. Wird der obere Endschalter 6 durch die Mutter aktiviert, wird die Drehrichtung der Spindel gekehrt und die Mutter bewegt sich nach unten, bis sie den unteren Endschalter 6 betätigt. Durch Aktivierung des unteren Endschalters 6 ist der Pressvorgang abgeschlossen. Automatische Steuerung der Presse: Die Presse wird durch einen Taster 9 aktiviert. Der Pressvorgang startet jedoch aufgrund eines Schalters erst nachdem die Schranktüre geschlossen ist. Die Schranktüre wird während dem Pressvorgang mittels einer geeigneten Vorrichtung verriegelt.
