Definitions

  • the present invention relates to window and door profiles with the main body produced from wood and the external surface, i.e. the surface that faces outwards is manufactured from PVC material.
  • PVC material is being widely employed in window and door systems nowadays.
  • PVC materials are amongst indispensable construction materials used in/on external surfaces, i.e. facades of buildings, particularly due to the high strength they have particularly against external factors.
  • doors and windows produced from PVC material, or even the incasing of facades of buildings by PVC material bring about substantial advantages for users.
  • PVC materials cause a significant 'visual pollution'. Additionally wastes emerging as a result of PVC material applications do pollute the environment significantly.
  • the PVC materials are not rapidly degraded in nature like wooden materials are. Waste materials maintain themselves for relatively longer periods and their degradation takes long.
  • the carcinogenic effect of PVC is known widely nowadays. What matters in this respect is the manner such PVC material is produced.
  • the VC monomer and the additives employed must be discussed and evaluated individually, if the carcinogenic effect of this material is to be considered.
  • the material called as the VC monomer is vinyl chloride, which is produced from petroleum and salt during the first phase, and which corresponds to the incompletely polymerized form of PVC.
  • Another fact known for a long time is that the direct intake of this substance leads to a particular type of cancer that focuses on the liver. With the air -that can not be controlled during PVC production in plants- escaping to the outer atmosphere, both the environment and naturally the workers within the plant are exposed to serious risks with respect to health.
  • Additives such as stabilizers and pigments, heavy metal salts, fillers, and lubricants are employed to enhance the strength and/or the features such as heat and light insulation of PVC material. It is particularly dangerous if lead-type heavy metals and salts are accumulated within the human body.
  • the present invention aims at solving the aforesaid problems.
  • the objective of the invention is to combine the advantages of both materials, i.e. of wood and of PVC, in a profile, by applying PVC onto the surface of wooden profile body facing the outdoor side to provide aesthetical appearance, healthy material, and high endurance.
  • Another objective of the present invention is to protect the user of such profiles against the effects of PVC material on human health, by producing the surface of profile facing the indoor side from wooden material completely.
  • a further objective of the present invention is to provide high endurance against external factors so as to reduce the necessity towards maintenance and repair and to render the situation more economic, by encasing the faces of profiles only that face the outdoor side with PVC material.
  • Yet a further objective of the present invention is to avoid the deformation and degradation of wood in time, by means of applying a tooth-joint system or encasing PVC on the outer section.
  • Still a further objective of the present invention is to both enhance the lifespan of profile and to save energy, by combining the strength of PVC material with the heat- insulation feature of wooden material.
