Abstract

Homopolar generator (4). An axial magnetised permanent magnet (11) is sandwiched between two iron rings (12) having many litte teeth (9) facing the air gap (24). The teeth (North poles) of the upper ring are circumf erentially shifted from the teeth (South poles) of the lower ring by one tooth width. The generator is connected to the grid by control and safety electronics such as a variable impedance (14), a short circuit switch (13), an interlock (15), surge protectors (16, 19), and power meters (17, 18).
