Abstract
A process for the production of spherical metal oxide powder which comprises the step of injecting one or more raw material powders selected from the group consisting of metal powders, metal oxide powders and metal hydroxide powders into flame to form a spherical powder and recovering the spherical powder with a collector, characterized by comprising the step of passing a powder to be treated which contains at least either of the raw material powder and the recovered spherical powder through a foreign matter removal unit to reduce the quantity of foreign matter contained in the powder to be treated to 450 pieces/50g or below.
