Abstract
The invention is directed to a method for producing a beta-lactam compound, wherein a cyclization reaction of a compound having a double bond and a sulfonyl isocyanate is continuously carried out using a tubular reactor. According to the invention, the reaction operation is easy, superheating due to reaction heat can be prevented, and a beta-lactam compound can be produced in high yield under a higher temperature condition and in a shorter reaction time compared with a conventional method.
