Abstract

 画像表示における輝度の発振現象を抑制しつつ、温度変化に対して発光輝度の安定化を図る。上記目的を達成するために、画像表示装置であって、複数の発光素子を有する表示パネルと、それぞれ隣り合う温度区間の各境界領域に対応する各境界温度に応じた制御データが含まれた制御データ群を記憶する記憶部と、この表示パネルの温度を検出する検出部と、記憶部に記憶された制御データ群のうち、検出部によって検出された温度に応じた制御データに基づいて、各発光素子の発光輝度を調整する調整手段と、を備える。ここで、調整手段は、検出部によって検出される温度が、第1の境界温度に到達した場合であって、第1の境界温度と、該第1の境界温度を境界領域とする隣り合う両温度区間とで構成される第1の所定温度範囲内で変化する場合に、当該第1の境界温度に対応する制御データに基づいて、各発光素子の発光輝度を調整する。
