Abstract

A receiver for detecting a multipath for demodulating a signal received from a transmitting station, by a demodulation section includes: a correlator for performing a correlation operation on the received signal and outputting the result of the correlation operation; a delay profile generating unit for performing a phase correction processing based on the value of a phase correction for each predetermined phase correction section on the result of the correlation operation, amplitude-adding the result of the phase correction, and power-adding the result of the amplitude-addition to generate a delay profile; a path detecting unit for detecting the multipath from the delay profile; a judging unit for judging whether or not at least one of the multipath meets the standard as an effective path applicable to a demodulation processing by the demodulation unit; and a control unit for reporting information on the multipath to the demodulation unit when the standard is met.
