Abstract

【課題】装置の軽量・コンパクト化と高剛性化という相反する課題を同時に解決すると共に、強度・耐久性を向上させた車輪用軸受装置を提供する。 【解決手段】複列の転動体列を備え、ハブ輪13の小径段部13bの端部を径方向外方に塑性変形させて形成した加締部13cにより内輪6が軸方向に固定された車輪用軸受装置において、複列の転動体列のうちアウター側の転動体列が円錐ころ9で構成され、インナー側の転動体列がボール10で構成されると共に、アウターの円錐ころ9列のピッチ円直径PCDoがインナー側のボール10列のピッチ円直径PCDiよりも大径に設定され、これら円錐ころ9とボール10の個数が同一に設定されている、これにより、軽量・コンパクト化を図りつつ、ハブ輪13の肉厚が厚くなり強度アップを図ることができると共に、作用点距離が拡大して全体の軸受剛性と寿命を向上させることができる。
