Abstract

 マルチキャリアを使用したセルラシステムにおいて、移動局端末自身が、どの基地局のセルにいるかを特定するための信号として、第二同期チャネルにマッピングされた第二同期コード(Walsh符号あるいはGCL系列)を使う。基地局から移動局端末へ送られる信号は、周波数方向と時間方向の2次元の広がりを持つ、無線フレームにマッピングされている。無線フレームには、第一同期チャネルと第二同期チャネルがマッピングされる同期チャネルが複数個所にわたって埋め込まれている。そこで、セルあるいはセルグループを特定する、ある系列番号の第二同期コードを第二同期チャネルとして無線フレームにマッピングする場合、マッピングする同期チャネルが無線フレーム内の何番目にあるかにしたがって、第二同期コードに1無線フレームで1周期となるような位相回転あるいは循環シフトを施してマッピングする。受信側では、第二同期コードの位相回転角あるいは循環シフト量を知ることにより、無線フレームの先頭のタイミングを知る。
