Description

Description
EXTRUSION-MOLDED PRODUCT HAVING WAVELIKE
INNER SPACES, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR
PRODUCING THE SAME
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to an extrusion-molded product, and more particularly to an extrusion-molded product, an apparatus and a method for producing the same, in which swelling ports provided to an extrusion mold repeatedly shrink and expand so as to form wavelike inner spaces in the extrusion-molded product when a non-flowing material such as synthetic resin or mortar is extruded, thereby forming closed wavelike inner spaces in the product, improving the thermal resistance of the product, reducing a quantity of material used for the product, and decreasing the total weight of the product.
[2]
Background Art
[3] In general, an extrusion of a non-flowing material such as synthetic resin or mortar is performed in such a manner that the material is pressed in a compression cylinder under a predetermined pressure while passing through an extrusion mold, thereby producing the product having a desired shape. The mortar may be general mortar used as a building material, for example, such as cement, pulp sludge, fly ash, plaster, and wasted plaster, etc.
[4] According to a conventional extrusion molding, a space may be formed in an extrusion-molded product in order to reduce the amount of material and to decrease the weight of the product. However, the space formed by the conventional extrusion molding is inevitably a straight type inner space because the material is continuously pressed and discharged due to the characteristic of the extrusion molding.
[5] Therefore, the conventional method achieves the reduction of the quantity of material and the decrease of the specific gravity of the product, but cannot establish the improvement of the thermal resistance of the product.
[6] For example, Korean Patent No. 457426, issued to the present applicant on
November 5, 2004, discloses an ultra-light and fire retardant material composite having excellent thermal resistance, and a method for producing the same. Specifically, it is possible to extrude the ultra-light and fire retardant material composite, which includes polystyrene foam chips, inorganic fire retardant material, and various additives, in a pressurized molding apparatus in a manner of vibration, press, or extrusion, so as to rapidly produce the molded final product. [7] However, since the molded final product, which is produced by extruding the composite through the pressurized extrusion molding apparatus, has no cavity therein, the total weight of the product is heavy, and the excessive use of material causes a significant increase in the manufacturing cost. Further, thermal resistance per unit volu me in the product is not high. In order to solve disadvantages of the product, a straight type space having a block shape is formed in the product. Thus, the weight of the product can be decreased while the quantity of the material used for the product can be reduced. However, it is still difficult to improve the thermal resistance of the product.
[8] Accordingly, the applicant has continuously researched in order to solve the above- mentioned problem, and applies the present invention as a result.
[9]
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[10] Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide an extrusion-molded product having wavelike inner spaces, an apparatus and a method for producing the same, in which the wavelike inner spaces are formed so as to improve the thermal resistance of the product, decrease the weight of the product, and reduce the quantity of material used for the product.

[13] In order to accomplish the object of the present invention, according to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for producing an extrusion- molded product having wavelike spaces, comprising the steps of: making molding material pass through an extrusion mold in which a shrinkable and expandable member is installed so as to repeatedly shrink and expand; and producing the extrusion-molded product in which a plurality of wavelike spaces are formed and include shrink portions and expansion portions continuously formed.
[14] In order to accomplish the object of the present invention, there is provided a method for producing an extrusion-molded product having wavelike spaces, comprising the steps of: preparing a non-flowing material such as synthetic resin or mortar as an extrusion molding material; injecting the prepared extrusion molding material into an extrusion molding apparatus having shrinkable and expandable wavelike nozzles; making the extrusion molding material pass through the extrusion molding apparatus, so as to produce the extrusion-molded product having a plurality of wavelike spaces; cutting the extrusion-molded product into a desired size; and curing the extrusion-molded product cut.

[16]
Advantageous Effects
[17] According to the present invention, first, it is possible to form the wavelike inner spaces in the non-flowing material while extruding the non-flowing material such as synthetic resin or mortar, thereby greatly improving the thermal resistance of the product.

Mode for the Invention [30] Hereinafter, an extrusion-molded product having wavelike inner spaces, an apparatus and a method for producing the same according to the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be more apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The same or similar reference numerals are used to indicate the same or similar members in whole drawings. [31] FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an extrusion-molded product having wavelike inner spaces according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view taken along a line A-A in FIG. 1. [32] The extrusion-molded product 100 according to the present invention has wavelike inner spaces, and is made by an extrusion molding apparatus so as to have various wavelike inner spaces 200 formed therein in the same direction. The space having wavelike shape includes shrink portions and expansion portions repeatedly arranged.
The sectional shape of the space can be variously changed into an elliptic, a rectangle, a circle, and a square. [33] Further, the wavelike inner spaces 200, in which the shrink portions 210 and the expansion portions 220 are repeatedly arranged, may be formed into a single layer or various layers. [34] Hereinafter, a method for producing the extrusion-molded product 100 having the wavelike inner spaces will be described. [35] (I) A non-flowing molding material such as synthetic resin or mortar is prepared.
The mortar may be a general mortar usually used as a construction material, such as cement, pulp sludge, fly ash, plaster, and wasted plaster, etc. [36] (2) The prepared molding material is supplied to a molding apparatus having wavelike nozzles capable of expanding and shrinking. The molding apparatus includes a hydraulic cylinder type molding apparatus, a pneumatic cylinder type molding apparatus, or a screw cylinder type molding apparatus provided with an extrusion mold in which a swelling member is embedded and caused to repeatedly expand and shrink due to pneumatic pressure, hydraulic pressure, or mechanical pressure.
[37] (3) An extrusion-molded product having various wavelike inner spaces 200 is produced by the molding apparatus having the wavelike nozzles.
[38] (4) The produced extrusion-molded product is cut by a predetermined size into plural pieces.
[39] (5) The cut extrusion-molded product is cured.
[40] The present invention provides a method for producing the extrusion-molded product having the wavelike inner spaces instead of a linear space by using an extrusion molding apparatus which has wavelike nozzles partially expanding and shrinking therein while expanding and shrinking the nozzles during the extrusion- molding of the material.
[41] Therefore, the extrusion-molded product having the wavelike inner spaces according to the present invention can be produced by using the method described above, more specifically by using various following methods.
[42] Hereinafter, an apparatus for producing the extrusion-molded product having the wavelike inner spaces will be described in detail with reference to drawings.
[43] FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing an extrusion molding apparatus according to the present invention, FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the wavelike nozzles of the extrusion molding apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 5 is an enlarged view showing a wavelike nozzle of the extrusion molding apparatus according to the present invention.
[44] As shown in FIGS. 3 through 5, the extrusion molding apparatus according to the present invention includes an extrusion cylinder 10 in which non-flowing molding material such as synthetic resin or mortar can move, a screw 15 embedded in the extrusion cylinder 10, for carrying the molding material, and an extrusion mold 20 installed on a front end of the extrusion cylinder 10, for molding the molding material into the shape of a product while the molding material is discharged.
[45] Further, a nozzle support 40 is mounted in the extrusion mold 20 so as to horizontally traverse the extrusion mold 20, while a plurality of wavelike nozzles 30 is installed at a front end surface of the nozzle support 40.
[46] The nozzle support 40 has a pipe 43 for allowing a pressing medium to move, which is embedded in the nozzle support 40. Further, pressing medium supplying nozzles 45 are installed on the pipe 43 facing toward the wavelike nozzles 30, respectively.
[47] As shown in FIG. 5, the wavelike nozzles 30 are fixedly supported by the nozzle support 40, and have a depression 37 formed along a periphery at an intermediate portion thereof, in which a plurality of air holes 39 are formed. Further, a swelling port 31 is installed at the depression 37 in order to define the wavelike inner spaces in the extrusion-molded product 100. The swelling port 31 is formed in such a manner that an expandable piece of rubber, made for example of silicon rubber having excellent elasticity and wear resistance, or a metal plate having an easy expandable and shrinkable structure is fixed to the periphery of the depression 37 by means of adhesive, bolts or fasteners.
[48] Hereinafter, the operation of the extrusion molding apparatus according to the present invention will be described.
[49] As shown in FIG. 6, when the screw 15 rotates in the extrusion cylinder 10, the molding material 300 moves in a direction marked by arrows and passes through the extrusion mold 20. At this time, pressing medium such as compressed air or fluid of high pressure is supplied through the pipe 43 of the nozzle support 40 to the wavelike nozzles 30, so as to expand the swelling ports 31 of the wavelike nozzles 30. Therefore, as the swelling ports 31 expand, the expansion portions 220 are formed in the wavelike space 200 of the extrusion-molded product 100. Next, when the pressing medium supplied through the pipe 43 of the nozzle support 40 is drawn from the swelling ports 31, the swelling ports 31 are shrunk. Thus, when the swelling ports 31 are shrunk, the shrink portions 210 are formed in the wavelike inner spaces 200 of the extrusion-molded product 100.
[50] The above-mentioned operations are repeatedly carried out, so that the extrusion- molded product 100 having the wavelike inner spaces 200 is manufactured.
[51] On the other hand, the apparatus for producing the extrusion-molded product having the wavelike inner spaces according to the present invention may mechanically operate the swelling ports instead of a manner of using the pressing medium. Further, the shape of the swelling ports can be modified in various shapes.
[52] For example, a wire or a screw, instead of the compressed air or fluid used for the pressing medium, is used as a power transmission device so as to repeatedly perform the operation of pulling and returning the swelling ports, thereby forming the wavelike inner spaces in the extrusion-molded product.
[53] Further, the expansion portion of the swelling port is constructed by the metal sheets, and the swelling port, i.e. the metal sheets, is expanded into the shape of a fan and folded, thereby forming the wavelike inner spaces in the extrusion-molded product.
