Abstract

The aim of the invention is to provide a document, especially a bill, which is forwarded by the recipient of the bill by facsimile telegraphy and which can be transmitted in such a manner that it can be processed on the recipient side in a substantially automated manner, and which is, if the document is a bill, suitable for the deduction of input tax. The method according to the invention comprises the following steps: a) receiving, on a fax receiving server, a document sent by a sender per facsimile telegraphy; b) producing a file containing a copy of the fax message by the fax receiving server; c) signing the file with an electronic signature; and d) forwarding the file to a location where the fax copy is processed. The invention also relates to a device suitable for said method for transmitting documents. Said device comprises at least one fax receiving server for receiving a fax message sent by a sender and for producing a first file containing a copy of the fax message, means for signing the first file with an electronic signature and means for electronically forwarding the copy of the fax message.
