Abstract

La présente invention concerne un frein qui possède une paire de plaquettes de frein (12), chaque plaquette étant mobile de façon généralement radiale vers l’extérieur en contact avec un tambour de frein par un levier de commande respectif (14) sur lequel un moyen d’application de frein (15) agit au niveau d’une extrémité et qui pivote (16) au niveau de l’autre extrémité à partir d’une plaque d’appui (11). Une partie (14c) du levier de commande respectif entre en contact avec chaque plaquette de façon intermédiaire des extrémités de levier et chaque plaquette se déplace de façon radiale vers l’extérieur entre une paire de butées espacées de façon circonférentielle (45) qui s’étendent de façon généralement perpendiculaire à la plaque d’appui et qui créent un couple de freinage lorsque le frein est appliqué. Chaque levier (14) pivote sur la plaque d’appui (11) par l’intermédiaire d’un axe (16) qui s’étend de façon généralement perpendiculaire à la plaque d’appui. Les extrémités libres des goupilles (14) sont reliées par une bielle de renfort (75) pour aider à contrôler la déflexion des axes (16) lorsque le frein est appliqué.
