In this case, there is a risk that the front or rear apron touches the obstacle and is damaged or demolished when driving away.
- DE 100 53 316 B4 is a motor vehicle with a body with front apron and with a level-adjusting device for adjustable lifting and lowering the Body has been described to a certain level opposite a roadway.

- the invention has the object to provide a method of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, with which in general any typeable parking situations can be detected, without the respective parking assigned or specific in the vehicle for parking space detection built-in sensor devices must be provided, with the aim of warning the driver or to cause the vehicle certain control functions.

A speed can be converted into a change in direction with knowledge of the assigned time duration in a route, a steering angle stop in a curve radius and with knowledge of the assigned route.
- Speed signals are provided on all vehicles, steering angle signals in most modern equipped with electronic stability programs anyway vehicles, so that their provision no separate installations on the vehicle are required. Since the recognition of the parking situation is carried out solely by the maneuver of the vehicle itself, no technical facilities are required on the parking side to allow the detection of the parking situation.
- a particularly critical parking situation is given, for example, when a vehicle is parked forwards or backwards in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current roadway direction, if this is bounded by a high curb or a similar shoulder, in the process there is a risk that the vehicle or a front or rear apron arranged thereon touches the heel during loading of the vehicle or possibly as a result of a manual or automatic deactivation of a level control system and is thereby damaged.

- a maneuver sequence detected when parking forward in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current road direction at least comprises:
- Certain parking situations require a forward drive straight ahead between step c) and step d). Similarly, in certain parking situations, it may be necessary to turn the steering wheel of the vehicle back, e.g. in the position for straight ahead of the wheels or the vehicle.
- a maneuver sequence If such a maneuver sequence is detected, then it can be concluded that one of the critical parking situations described earlier is given.

- a maneuver sequence detected when parking backwards in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current road direction comprises at least:
- actuating the parking brake such as the handbrake.
- a control function blocking a lowering of the vehicle body is activated. This blocking of a lowering movement should be maintained until the critical parking situation is no longer present or until the driver deliberately deactivates it.
- a control function effecting level compensation is activated when the vehicle is being parked. It is therefore detected a compression of the vehicle body relative to the vehicle axles and compensated by the level control system again. This requires a filling of the air springs at a standstill, either from a compressed air reservoir or from a compressor. Since a compressor run at Standstill eg is undesirable for reasons associated with the noise emission, a compressed air storage is preferred.
- the vehicle body sinks into the springs, and at the same time the flattening of the tires increases.
- This flattening of the tires is not necessarily detected by the sinking sensors.
- the degree of this level compensation is increased by a supplement which takes account of a flattening of the tires. In the simplest case, this is a percentage addition to the value recorded by the height sensors.
- characteristic-oriented supplements wherein each height sensor signal is assigned a certain surcharge by a characteristic curve related thereto.
- Modern motor vehicles with level control system are often equipped with a manually controllable loading edge lowering, which should facilitate a loading of the vehicle.
- a loading edge lowering of the parked vehicle blocking control function is activated according to which a loading edge reduction does not take place despite a corresponding control input ,
- the respective activated control function by the driver overridden or manually canceled, so that the driver disable the lockout if there is no heel or obstacle.
- the respectively activated control function is automatically canceled at a predetermined sequence of maneuvers.
- Such a maneuver sequence generally comprises maneuvers, by which the vehicle is removed from the critical parking situation.
- An automatic cancellation of the control function takes place, for example, by:
- a driving speed which is greater than a limit speed typical for parking
- a warning function is activated in a vehicle, which is equipped with an automatic headlamp leveling system, but not with a level control system.
- a headlamp leveling system like a level control system, detects sinking of the vehicle body into the springs so that the signal derived therefrom for adjusting the headlamps can also be used to activate a warning function, for example an audible or visual warning signal.
- warning functions can each be issued when a critical state is reached, that is, for example, when the vehicle drops due to a load in its springs.
- a warning function is output in each case at least before driving away the parked vehicle. In this way it can be prevented, for example, that an already patched bow or rear apron is demolished when driving away.
- the presence of the parking situation must also be stored. If the existing control unit is electrically powered by a respective terminal of the electrical system, which is supplied by turning the ignition key with electrical power, then the storage must be done in a non-volatile electronic memory.
- the parking situation with the maneuver sequences described above can be recognized by any control device on the data bus if a steering angle information and a speed or route signal is available on the data bus.
- the recognized parking situation can then be reported to the level control system and other control devices via the data bus, for example.
- existing arithmetic power reserves are used with control devices not normally involved in the function described here.

Abstract
The invention relates to a method for detecting predefined parking situations for a motor vehicle using the velocity of the vehicle as a criterion. In order to permit detection without installing sensors on the vehicle or any technical installations at the car park, the invention provides that a typical sequence of manoeuvres which occur one after the other in a specific parking process is sensed, and that if such a sequence is present predefined control and/or warning functions which are related thereto are respectively activated. A critical parking situation occurs, for example, if a vehicle equipped with a ride level control system and having a front apron or rear apron is driven over a high kerb stone. In this case, lowering the vehicle body is blocked in all cases if a corresponding parking situation has been detected.

Beschreibungdescription
The invention relates to a method for detecting predetermined parking situations for a motor vehicle using the vehicle speed as a criterion.
In some cases, it may be advantageous for a vehicle to automatically detect a particular parking situation, for example, to warn the driver of erroneous parking or to cause the vehicle to react by avoiding damage to the vehicle, as follows will be explained in more detail. So it would be conceivable, for example, that the driver is warned when he parked the vehicle in a large garage in a wrong rental parking, so does not drive the default path to his parking. A particularly critical parking situation is when the vehicle is driven with a front or rear apron over an obstacle limiting the parking lot, such as a high curb or heel, and the vehicle is then lowered by loading or as a result of Abreg ing a level control device. In this case, there is a risk that the front or rear apron touches the obstacle and is damaged or demolished when driving away.
In particular, for the last-described situation, a solution has already become known by the damage or tearing of a front apron to be prevented. In DE 100 53 316 B4 is a motor vehicle with a body with front apron and with a level-adjusting device for adjustable lifting and lowering the Body has been described to a certain level opposite a roadway. In order to prevent the front apron when parking abuts against a road obstacle, such as a high curb, an obstacle sensor device is arranged in the front of the vehicle, which emits an obstacle control signal when approaching the vehicle to the obstacle, which causes the level adjustment device to automatically raise the bodywork and thus the front apron attached to it to a level higher than a current level. As a further criterion for the existence of a parking situation, a low driving speed of, for example, less than 5 km determined by a speed sensor is used.
This known device is specifically designed for the case described above, that the vehicle approaches an obstacle when Vorwärteinparken. Other parking situations can not be detected with this device. Another disadvantage of the known device is seen in the fact that the additional effort for the installation of an obstacle sensor is required. Since this sensor is located in the exposed front area of the vehicle, it is also very susceptible to interference.
Against this background, the invention has the object to provide a method of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, with which in general any typeable parking situations can be detected, without the respective parking assigned or specific in the vehicle for parking space detection built-in sensor devices must be provided, with the aim of warning the driver or to cause the vehicle certain control functions.
The solution of this problem arises from the features of the main claim, while advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are the dependent claims can be removed. The invention is based on the recognition that numerous parking processes take place according to a very specific scheme, so that it should be possible to detect the parking situation if this scheme can be recognized.
Accordingly, the invention is based on a method for detecting predetermined parking situations for a motor vehicle, using a typical for a parking low vehicle speed as a criterion.
In order to achieve the stated object, it is provided that a typical sequence of maneuvers taking place one after the other during a specific parking operation is detected, with respective predefined control and / or warning functions being activated in the presence of such a sequence.
The term "maneuver" is understood in the broadest sense both driving maneuvers of the vehicle as well as operator intervention of the driver, which lead to such maneuvers. It has been found that in general, the evaluation of steering angle signals and speed signals is sufficient for detecting the maneuvers taking place during most parking operations. A speed can be converted into a change in direction with knowledge of the assigned time duration in a route, a steering angle stop in a curve radius and with knowledge of the assigned route.
If the vehicle has a navigation system, then speeds, driving distances and direction changes can also be obtained from this system. Speed signals are provided on all vehicles, steering angle signals in most modern equipped with electronic stability programs anyway vehicles, so that their provision no separate installations on the vehicle are required. Since the recognition of the parking situation is carried out solely by the maneuver of the vehicle itself, no technical facilities are required on the parking side to allow the detection of the parking situation. As already explained above, a particularly critical parking situation is given, for example, when a vehicle is parked forwards or backwards in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current roadway direction, if this is bounded by a high curb or a similar shoulder, in the process there is a risk that the vehicle or a front or rear apron arranged thereon touches the heel during loading of the vehicle or possibly as a result of a manual or automatic deactivation of a level control system and is thereby damaged.
By the term "essentially transversely to the roadway direction", for example, parking directions are to be understood which are 90 ° + 45 ° to the roadway direction, that is to say also typical oblique parking situations.
To exclude the risk of damage described above, it is provided according to the invention that in such a parking situation basically, ie regardless of whether an obstacle is present or not, a predetermined control and / or warning function is activated, but in the absence of such Obstacle can be disabled by the driver again, as will be explained.
In order to detect the parking situations described above, according to one embodiment of the invention, it is provided that a maneuver sequence detected when parking forward in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current road direction at least comprises:
d) Abbremsen bis zum Stillstand.a) braking from a forward drive to a predetermined low speed. b) Strong steering angle with or without forward travel for a curve radius below a specified value. c) driving forward with a strong steering angle over a given distance or up to a predetermined angle to the current direction of the road. d) braking to a stop.
Certain parking situations require a forward drive straight ahead between step c) and step d). Similarly, in certain parking situations, it may be necessary to turn the steering wheel of the vehicle back, e.g. in the position for straight ahead of the wheels or the vehicle.
If such a maneuver sequence is detected, then it can be concluded that one of the critical parking situations described earlier is given. The driver is then warned by a warning function, such as a visual and / or audible warning, so that he can visit an uncritical parking situation, or it is possibly activated a control function, by which the vehicle is protected from damage.
In ähnlicher Weise umfasst gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform der Erfindung ein beim Rückwärtseinparken in einen im Wesentlichen quer zur aktuellen Fahrbahnrichtung liegenden Parkplatz erfasster Manöverablauf zumindest:Similarly, according to a further embodiment of the invention, a maneuver sequence detected when parking backwards in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current road direction comprises at least:
a) Starker Lenkeinschlag mit oder ohne Rückwärtsfahrt für einen Kurvenradius unterhalb eines vorgegebenen Wertes. b) Rückwärtsfahrt mit starkem Lenkeinschlag über eine vorgegebene Fahrstrecke bzw. bis zu einem vorgegebenen Winkel zur aktuellen Fahrbahnrichtung. c) Abbremsen bis zum Stillstand.a) Strong steering angle with or without reversing for a curve radius below a predetermined value. b) Reverse with a strong steering angle over a given distance or up to a predetermined angle to the current direction of the road. c) braking to a stop.
Preferably, in such a parking maneuver at the beginning of a reverse drive over a predetermined distance straight ahead.
To demarcate the parking situations described above against parking situations with possibly similar maneuvers, can according to another Embodiment of the invention additionally detected and evaluated one or more of the following maneuvers:
a) Betätigen der Feststellbremse, beispielsweise der Handbremse. b) Bei Automatikgetrieben Stellung des Wählhebels auf "Parken" oder dergleichen. c) "Ziel erreicht" -Signal eines Navigationssystems. d) Fahrtrichtungs-Signal eines Navigationssystems. e) "Öffnen"-Signal der Fahrertüre, des Kofferraums oder dergleichen.a) actuating the parking brake, such as the handbrake. b) In automatic transmissions position of the selector lever on "Parking" or the like. c) "Target reached" signal of a navigation system. d) Direction signal of a navigation system. e) "open" signal the driver's door, the trunk or the like.
For a motor vehicle with a level control system, in the presence of a typical parking maneuver sequence for forward or reverse parking in a parking space lying essentially transversely to the current roadway direction, it is basically provided that a control function blocking a lowering of the vehicle body is activated. This blocking of a lowering movement should be maintained until the critical parking situation is no longer present or until the driver deliberately deactivates it.
For a vehicle with a level control system for an independent level control at the bow and / or tail is provided according to a further embodiment of the invention that when Vorwärteinparken only lowering the Fahrzeugbugs and Rückwärteinparken only a lowering of the vehicle rear is blocked.
In order to prevent the vehicle body or an apron arranged thereon from being loaded by the parked vehicle equipped with a level control system, according to a further embodiment of the invention, a control function effecting level compensation is activated when the vehicle is being parked.
When loading on the one hand, the vehicle body sinks into the springs, and at the same time the flattening of the tires increases. This flattening of the tires is not necessarily detected by the sinking sensors. In this case, according to a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that, in the case of a level compensation effected when loading the parked vehicle, the degree of this level compensation is increased by a supplement which takes account of a flattening of the tires. In the simplest case, this is a percentage addition to the value recorded by the height sensors. However, it may also be useful to have characteristic-oriented supplements, wherein each height sensor signal is assigned a certain surcharge by a characteristic curve related thereto.
Modern motor vehicles with level control system are often equipped with a manually controllable loading edge lowering, which should facilitate a loading of the vehicle. In order to prevent damage to the vehicle body or an apron arranged thereon by lowering the vehicle, according to a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that a loading edge lowering of the parked vehicle blocking control function is activated according to which a loading edge reduction does not take place despite a corresponding control input ,
Eine automatische Aufhebung der Steuerfunktion erfolgt beispielsweise durch:Since only the respective Einparkituation is detected by means of the method according to the invention, ie it is not distinguished whether the vehicle body hazardous paragraph is present or not, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the respective activated control function by the driver overridden or manually canceled, so that the driver disable the lockout if there is no heel or obstacle. In a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the respectively activated control function is automatically canceled at a predetermined sequence of maneuvers. Such a maneuver sequence generally comprises maneuvers, by which the vehicle is removed from the critical parking situation. An automatic cancellation of the control function takes place, for example, by:
- einen umgekehrten Ablauf der Manöver, die zum Erkennen der Einparksituation geführt haben;- a reverse sequence of maneuvers that led to the detection of the parking situation;
- eine Fahrgeschwindigkeit, die größer ist als eine für ein Einparken typische Grenzgeschwindigkeit;a driving speed which is greater than a limit speed typical for parking;
- Vorwärtsfahrt nach Rückwärtseinparken;- forward drive after reverse parking;
- Rückwärtsfahrt nach Vorwärtseinparken;- reverse drive to forward parking;
- Betätigen der Ladekantenabsenkung über eine bestimmte Zeitdauer (z.B. länger als 3 Sek.)Operating the loading edge reduction over a certain period of time (for example, more than 3 seconds)
In a vehicle, which is equipped with an automatic headlamp leveling system, but not with a level control system, is provided according to a further embodiment of the invention that in the presence of a Vorwärteinparken or Rückwärteinparken in a lying substantially transverse to the current direction of the road parking typical maneuver sequence when loading the parked vehicle via the headlamp leveling system a warning function is activated. A headlamp leveling system, like a level control system, detects sinking of the vehicle body into the springs so that the signal derived therefrom for adjusting the headlamps can also be used to activate a warning function, for example an audible or visual warning signal.
The above-described warning functions can each be issued when a critical state is reached, that is, for example, when the vehicle drops due to a load in its springs. However, to give the driver another opportunity to correct a critical parking situation before departing is According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that a warning function is output in each case at least before driving away the parked vehicle. In this way it can be prevented, for example, that an already patched bow or rear apron is demolished when driving away. In addition to the control and / or warning function, the presence of the parking situation must also be stored. If the existing control unit is electrically powered by a respective terminal of the electrical system, which is supplied by turning the ignition key with electrical power, then the storage must be done in a non-volatile electronic memory.
In a vehicle electronically networked via a data bus (CAN), the parking situation with the maneuver sequences described above can be recognized by any control device on the data bus if a steering angle information and a speed or route signal is available on the data bus. The recognized parking situation can then be reported to the level control system and other control devices via the data bus, for example. Thus, e.g. existing arithmetic power reserves are used with control devices not normally involved in the function described here.
