Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the production of spinal implants comprising the steps: introduction of bone cement or a similar material (17) in a liquid or pasty state into a cavity mould (10, 10', 20), matching the cavity mould (10, 10', 20) to the individual anatomical proportions, hardening the material (17) in the cavity mould (10, 10', 20) to form the implant and removal of the hardened implant for the operative implantation. The invention further relates to a device for the production of spinal implants comprising a mould (10, 10', 20) of one or more parts the interaction of which permits the shaping of the three-dimensional implant. In a first embodiment the first part or the several parts (10a, 10b) have a rigid form and form a housing within which a cavity for moulding the implant is formed. In a second embodiment the mould comprises an elastic shell in which an implant can be moulded.
