Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly and a method for determining the direction of magnetic fields using voltage dividers (1 to 5), consisting of resistors (1.1, 1.2 to 5.1, 5.2) that are configured from magnetoresistive thin layers, at least three (n = 3) voltage dividers (1 to 5) being arranged in such a way that the signal voltages of the different voltage dividers (1 to 5), which occur in the central contacts (1.5 to 5.5) during the rotation of the magnetic fields (H), have phases that are offset in relation to one another. The inventive assembly also comprises differential amplifiers (V1 to V5) for amplifying the differences between the signal voltages in the central contacts (1.5 to 5.5) of two voltage dividers (1 to 5) with neighbouring phases and an evaluation unit for determining the angle of the magnetic fields (H) in relation to a reference direction (X). The advantages of said assembly in comparison to known assemblies include a redundancy of measured values, higher signal amplitudes, or a reduced chip surface, the filtering of harmonic waves and an adaptability of period length deviations.
