Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Sequenzgiessverfahren zur Herstellung eines gegossenen Metallstranges (13) hoher Reinheit aus einer Metallschmelze, wobei die Metallschmelze von einem Schmelzenbehälter (5) geregelt einem Verteilergefäss (8) zugeführt und von diesem Verteilergefäss (8) geregelt in eine Stranggiesskokille (4) abgeführt wird und wobei die Zufuhr der Metallschmelze in die Stranggiesskokille (4) ohne Unterbrechung weitergeführt wird. Um bei diesem Verfahren auch während des Schmelzengefässwechsels einen qualitativ hochwertigen Metallstrang giessen zu können, bei dem die Restart-Phase möglichst kurz gehalten werden kann, wird vorgeschlagen, dass während einer Zeitspanne von der Wiederaufnahme der Zufuhr von Metallschmelze in das Verteilergefäss bis zum Erreichen einer quasi-stationären Betriebsbadspiegelhöhe im Verteilergefäss (8) die Zuflussrate in das Verteilergefäss grösser ist als die Abflussrate aus dem Verteilergefäss und wobei während 70% bis 100% dieser Zeitspanne die Zuflussrate in dass Verteilergefäss (8) kleiner oder gleich dem Doppelten der Abflussrate aus dem Verteilergefäss ist.
