Description

The invention relates to a foldable toilet seat. The invention is intended more particularly for child toilet seats but can be adapted for adults. Due to their small size, children cannot use the adult toilet directly: they must use adapters or smaller "pots", usually made of plastic. The latter have the disadvantage of being of fixed size, bulky and bulky to transport, while the adapters can only be used in the presence of toilets for adults. The invention aims to overcome these drawbacks by proposing a toilet seat which can be used as an adapter and / or as a "pot". It also has the advantage of being foldable, light and easily transportable. To this end, the object of the invention relates to a foldable toilet seat, characterized in that it comprises a base, a seat comprising a breakthrough, the seat being held above the base by adjustable support means capable to adjust the distance between the seat and the base. The faeces are then for example recovered by means of a small bowl placed under the opening of the seat. The size of such a bowl is therefore less than the size of a usual "potty" for children and can be easily bought commercially. The seat has the advantage of having an adjustable height which can thus be adjusted to the height of the user. In a variant, the base has a breakthrough substantially opposite that of the seat. It can then be used as an adapter for normal sized toilets. Still in a variant, the seat comprises a flexible and watertight container fixed on the seat opposite and below the opening of the seat. It can then serve as a "pot", independently. Advantageously, the container is removable. It can for example be a disposable bag which is changed with each use. Also in a variant, the seat includes a cover made of rigid or flexible material, capable of covering the seat. This cover allows both to protect the seat from dirt and to keep the container closed while waiting to be able to empty or replace it. Advantageously, the cover includes sealing means on the seat, to prevent any leakage of the contents during a possible transport before replacement or cleaning of the container. Of course, these different variants can be combined with one another. Again in a variant, the base and / or the seat are made of rigid or semi-rigid and / or recyclable material. In a particular embodiment, the adjustable support means comprise at least three sets of at least two telescopic or nestable tubes distributed over the periphery of the seat.
The seat is thus supported in a stable manner and can be easily moved towards or away from its base. More particularly, the ends of each set of tubes are integral with the base and the seat, or are fitted or screwed into cavities provided for this purpose of the base and the seat. The invention is now described with reference to the accompanying non-limiting drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a seat according to the invention in the deployed position, cover open; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the seat of Figure 1 in the folded position, cover closed; Figure 3 is a partial sectional view along line AA 'of Figure 2; - Figures 4 and 5 are views similar to those of Figures 1 and 2 respectively, of a second embodiment according to the invention. A first embodiment of a foldable seat according to the invention is described with reference to Figures 1 to 3. The seat 1 comprises a base 2 and a seat 3. The seat is held above the base 2 by means adjustable support 4. The base 2 has a substantially oval and flat shape, of dimensions equal to or greater than those of the seat in order to ensure good stability of the assembly. In an embodiment not shown, it has a central opening and its dimensions are chosen so that it can fit on an adult size toilet seat. The dimensions of the seat can then be chosen to suit a child. The seat 3 also has a substantially oval shape, one end of which can be narrower than the other, in the manner of conventional toilet seats. It has a hole 5 in its center, also substantially oval, and a flange 6 on which the person using the seat sits. Below the seat 3 and opposite the breakthrough 5, is fixed a flexible and waterproof bag 7 resting on the base 2. For this purpose, the bag 7 has a wide flange 8 which passes through the breakthrough 5 and covers the rim 6 from the inside to the outside of the seat 3 (Figure 1). One can possibly provide that the periphery of the rim 8 of the bag is provided with an elastic band in order to keep it securely on the seat. One can also provide clips distributed on the outer edge of the seat (not shown) to pinch the edge and hold it in place. The support means 4 comprise three sets of telescopic tubes 9, 10 distributed over the peripheries of the base and of the seat, and extending perpendicular thereto. Each assembly comprises two tubes 9, 10. One of the tubes, 9, has one end secured to the underside of the rim 6 of the seat 3, and the other tube, 10, to one end secured to the top of the base 2, the tubes 9, 10 being arranged opposite one another so as to be able to slide one into the other. In the example, the seat 3 being made of plastic, the tubes 9 are made in one piece with the latter. Similarly, the base 2 and the tubes 10 can be made in one piece of plastic. A retaining element 11 makes it possible to hold the tubes 9, 10 in an extended position, as shown in FIG. 1. This retaining element is in the form of an elastic rod fixed inside the tube 10 , whose radially directed end protrudes through an orifice 12 provided for this purpose and passing through the wall of the other tube 9. It is then sufficient to push this end back in order to be able to slide the tube 9 onto the tube 10 and bring the seat 3 in the folded position shown in Figure 2. Of course, other usual locking means of telescopic tubes can be used. It is also possible to add at least one additional tube in each of the three assemblies in order to be able to obtain at least three distinct positions of the seat relative to the base, which allows for example to have different heights adjustable according to the size of the user. The height of the different telescopic tubes is then chosen according to the different heights desired. A greater number of sets of tubes 4 can be used, although a number of three makes it possible to obtain the best stability. Of course, the tubes 9, 10 can be fixed in another way on the base and the seat, for example by screwing, interlocking or the like. The seat can then be completely dismantled and takes up very little space. It is also possible to envisage tubes which fit into one another instead of telescopic tubes. Of course, other mechanical devices, such as for example rack or rod devices, making it possible to adjust the distance between the seat and the base can be envisaged. However, the use of telescopic or nestable tubes is simpler and preferable in order to avoid pinching the fingers of young children. A cover 13 connected to the seat 3 on the side of its widest end makes it possible to completely cover the seat 3 and thus to seal the bag 7. Sealing closure means 14 make it possible to seal the closure and prevent the contents of the bag from escaping. To this end, the outer edge of the cover 13 has a flexible rim 14 so that a groove 15 is formed between the rim 14 and the cover, into which the outer edge of the seat can be inserted. This embodiment has the advantage of pinching the bag over the entire periphery of the seat. The cover can then be entirely made of flexible material. Figure 3 shows a sectional view of the edge of the cover showing the flange 14 pinching the seat 3 and the bag 7. For clarity, the bag, the seat and the cover have been shown fictitiously spaced. In this embodiment, the base 2, the seat 3 and the support means 4 are made of rigid or semi-rigid materials capable of supporting the weight of the users for whom the seat is intended. Preferably, these different elements are made of plastic. The bag, preferably made of recyclable material, can be easily removed and discarded, another bag being put in place, thus ensuring good hygiene and easy maintenance of the toilet seat. The second embodiment, shown in Figures 4 and 5, differs from the first only by the attachment of the bag 7 to the seat 3 and the method of closing the cover 13 on the seat. The other parts are identical and are not described again. The same references have been used for identical elements. In this embodiment, the seat 3 is made of plastic, and the bag 7, also made of flexible plastic, is integrated into the seat during the manufacture of the latter so that the bag 7 is integral with the edge of the opening 5. The outer edge of the seat 3 has a flexible border 16 forming a zipper 17 with a corresponding flexible border 18 of the cover. FIG. 5 represents the closed lid, the zipped closure 17 having joined the two edges 16, 18 over part of their periphery. The cover can be made entirely of flexible plastic material or comprise only a flexible border 18, the rest being in a more rigid plastic material. The materials used can be inexpensive recyclable materials, for example rigid cardboard or the like, so that the seat can be disposable. Of course, other methods of fixing the bag 7 can be used. In another example not shown, the edge of the opening 5 of the seat may include an annular rim projecting towards the base, and around which a bag can be fixed by means of a clamping ring, clips, elastic means or the like. In an embodiment not shown, the bag 7 can be closed in a sealed manner below the breakthrough by means of a link, for example elastic, the cover then being kept closed by means of closure which are not necessarily waterproof. One can also provide a handle on the base in order to easily transport the seat according to the invention.
