Abstract
The invention relates to a low-noise roller chain (1), wherein a damping element is arranged between the bushing and the roller of the chain guide in order to dampen noise.
Description
The invention relates to a low-noise roller chain. Roller chains interact with sprockets in drive devices. When operating a chain drive, it is desirable to keep the noise level as low as possible.
Some solutions for reducing the noise level of drives are known in the prior art. For example, DE 4 331 165 describes a chain drive in which an elastic body which does not touch the chain is arranged on at least one side of a gearwheel. In order to reduce wear and dampen the noise, it is also known in the prior art from DE 296 21 083 U1 to arrange a damping ring on the side of the chain wheel as a damping means, which has a wavy profile, the elevations of which are so high that there is overlap contact with the link plates of the chain. This is intended to dampen the momentum when the chain sleeve or roller hits the tooth flank.
These damping measures can only partially achieve noise reduction. Therefore there is a need for improvements and further developments.
The invention is therefore based on the problem of providing improved damping.
In order to solve this problem, a damping means is arranged in a roller chain between the bush and the roller of the chain links. The damping means arranged between the bushing and roller, which is mostly made of steel, largely absorbs the kinetic energy generated by the Running of the roller chain into the sprocket and when the chain rollers hit the tooth flanks of the sprocket is free. The effective damping of the roller chain according to the invention advantageously advantageously reduces the noise level of the chain drive in a simple manner.
Plastics and rubber materials are particularly suitable as materials for the damping agent. The damping means can be at least partially elastically deformable, as a result of which the impact pulse is cushioned particularly effectively. By choosing the material hardness, the damping agent can be adapted to the respective roller chain and its use. The surface of the damping means is preferably chosen so that the mobility of the roller around the bushing is not restricted as much as possible. To ensure this, the damping means can also consist of different materials.
Diese Ausführungsformen besitzen den Vorteil, daß herkömmli- ehe Teile (Buchse und Rolle) durch geringfügige ModifizierungenThe damping means can be formed as a coating on the outer surface of the bush facing the roller. The impact impulse that occurs when the roller chain enters the chain sprocket is cushioned by the damping coating, thus minimizing the noise level. The damping coating can be formed, for example, from a plastic layer. It is also possible to provide the roller with a damping coating instead of the bush. Furthermore, both bushing and roller can be provided with a damping coating. These embodiments have the advantage that conventional parts (bush and roller) due to slight modifications
(Beschichtungen) derart verändert werden können, daß die erfindungsgemäße Dämpfungswirkung erzielt wird.(Coatings) can be changed so that the damping effect according to the invention is achieved.
Dies bietet den Vorteil, daß dieThe damping means preferably consists of a hollow cylinder arranged between the roller and the bushing. This has the advantage that the
Movement of the roller around the sleeve is not restricted due to the mobility of the hollow cylinder. By using such an additional part furthermore, the production of the roller chain is possible without having to change existing manufacturing processes or having to modify conventional parts.
The invention further relates to a device, in particular a conveyor, with a drive with a chain wheel and a roller chain according to the invention. Such a device is characterized by a low noise level during operation.
The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing. It shows the structure of a roller chain 1 according to the invention with inner 2 and outer plates 3 and a chain pin 4 connecting the individual chain links. According to the invention, a damping means in the form of a plastic bushing 7 is arranged between the steel bushing 5 and the steel roller 6. The plastic bush 7 absorbs the energy of the impact pulse, which is released when the roller enters the sprocket. The plastic bushing 7 also prevents the sleeve 5 and roller 6 from striking against one another. Overall, the noise level of a chain drive in which a roller chain according to the invention is used is effectively reduced. By arranging additional damping means, for example on the chain wheel itself, the noise level can be reduced further.
