Abstract

A carrying case (10) for a portable electronic device includes a plurality of wall portions (12), (14), (16), (18), (20), (22) defining a compartment (36) for receiving the portable electronic device. A shock absorber (50) is associated with at least one of the wall portions, and includes a leaf spring (52) that is configured and dimensioned to absorb at least a portion of any forces that are transmitted through the wall portion to the portable electronic device.
