Definitions

  • the invention relates to a strip system for connecting the floors, in particular the parquet floors; it consists of a transition strip, an anchoring underlay strip, as well as associated screws and expansion piles.
  • One of the systems is formed by transition strips made of metal with openings for screws, which are then screwed into expansion piles that are inserted into the base.
  • the main disadvantage of this system is that it is a material that is different in terms of quality and color than the floor or floor covering and has an aesthetic effect.
  • EP 0 801187 describes a connecting strip with an elongated profile and groove, the components of which are movable and fixing connecting elements.
  • the movable connecting element is inserted with the head into the groove of the elongated profile, the fixing screw is screwed into the expansion pole, which is inserted into the base, and the movable connecting element is pushed in so that it engages in the fixing screw.
  • a disadvantage of this system is that the height of the fixing screw has to be adjusted very punctually.

  • transition strips are strips made of MDF material with a projection on the lower side, which is inserted into the anchoring plastic underlay in the form of the letter U ", which is attached to the base.
  • An advantage of these strips is the possibility of different surface treatment ( Foils), one disadvantage is the instability of the friction connection between the projection of the transition strip and the anchoring plastic strip. If you stumble over the transition strip, the attachment of the strip can loosen and cracks form at the location of the projection. Furthermore, this connection is not very stable with thicker floor coverings.

  • the threshold strip according to WO 00/19037 is intended to compensate for the height differences of the floors. It consists of the lower part, which is attached to the base, and the cover part (the transition strip), which is attached to the lower part with a screw.

  • the essence of this system is that it contains an anchoring washer for anchoring in the underlay, in which there are openings for anchoring screws and openings for connecting screws without a head, as well as a transition strip with openings or recesses for inserting the connecting screws without a head for a connection with the anchoring underlay.
  • the most favorable form of the anchoring washer is the form of the inverted letter "U", the edges of which have a smaller inner diameter than the radius of the connecting screw without a head.
  • the anchoring underlay can be 6 to 14 mm high. It is further preferred if the openings for connecting screws without a head are oval and are located between the openings for anchoring screws and if the thickness of the transition strip is 3 to 6 mm. It is also advantageous if the distances between the openings or recesses of the transition strip, which are used to insert the connecting screws, are 3 to 10 cm.
  • the advantage of this solution according to the invention is a firm connection and also the possibility of using it for connecting floors of uneven height.
  • the self-tapping screws (without head) of the transition baseboard into the anchoring underlay (advantageously made of plastic) and when anchoring them with screws and expansion pegs, these cut into the plastic material of the underlay. This prevents the strip from loosening in the event of accidental stumbling and the transition strip even tends to cut even deeper into the underlay strip due to the winding of the self-tapping screw. Since the screws cut turns in the material of the transition strip itself, a perfect seal between the turns of the screws and the transition strips is achieved.
  • Another advantage of this solution according to the invention are oval openings in the anchoring underlay strip, which allow the screws to be inserted without problems Make the transition strip possible, even if the strip was not cut off on time or if the distances between the screws were not kept exactly on time.
