Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erfassung, Organisation, Verarbeitung, Übertragung und Archivierung von ein- und mehrdimensionalen digitalen Daten aller Art (z.B. stehende oder bewegte Bilddaten), das eine reversible (verlustfreie) Kompression mit einem Verarbeitungsmodul kombiniert, welches die erreichbaren Kompressionsraten vergrößert ohne relevante Bestandteile des Signals zu verändern oder alternativ ein Modul zur adaptiven Auswahl eines geeigneten Quantisierungsparameters für eine optimale verlustbehaftete (irreversible) Kompression einsetzt sowie eine strukturierte Pufferung der Eingangsdaten mit prioritätsgesteuerter Abarbeitung durchführt. Anwendung findet das Verfahren u.a. in der Telemedizin, in der digitalen radiologischen Bildverarbeitung, in der Bildarchivierung, Videoüberwachung und Videoaufzeichnung.
