Ce télécopieur comporte plusieurs composants, en l'occurrence, une imprimante (20), ayant un boîtier et des éléments fonctionnels permettant d'imprimer des données stockées dans ce boîtier, une unité principale (30) ayant un boîtier et des dispositifs de communication, tels qu'un dispositif mémoire extérieur et un modem, un module d'alimentation et des connecteurs aux fins d'une connexion avec les dispositifs extérieurs placés dans le boîtier de l'unité principale. Ce télécopieur comporte également une tête (40) ayant un boîtier, un panneau d'affichage à cristaux liquides avec un écran tactile placé dans ledit boîtier, une unité centrale commandant l'ensemble du dispositif et un scanneur destiné à la lecture d'un document. Ce télécopieur se caractérise par le fait que chacun des composants est pourvu d'un connecteur (50 ou 60) établissant une connexion électrique avec les autres composants ainsi que par le fait que ces composants peuvent être assemblés ou désassemblés.
