Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for displaying information, in particular the time of day, with a housing, a display for the information and a power supply device for the display, the display and the power supply device being assigned to the housing.
  • Devices for displaying information of the type in question have long been known in practice and exist in a wide variety of embodiments, for example in the form of clocks.
  • wristwatches are of very special importance.
  • Such devices preferably represent the current time and can also include numerous other functional elements, for example an altitude measuring device, a device for measuring time intervals and a device for specifying the sky direction.
  • Game devices and wake-up devices are also conceivable as functional elements.
  • the integration of a depth measuring device is also advantageous.
  • Devices of the type in question have a housing, which is usually closed on one side by a cover glass and on the other side by a housing base. Furthermore, a display for displaying the information and a power supply device for the display are provided. The display and the energy supply device for the display are assigned to the housing.
  • the functional elements are also supplied by the energy supply device for the display. This has the consequence that the energy supply device reaches its capacity limit with a correspondingly high number of functional elements, and an adequate energy supply for all desired functional elements is no longer guaranteed.
  • the number of functional elements is therefore limited and the user may have to do without functional elements.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a device for displaying information of the type in question, in which an almost arbitrary number of functional elements can be operated safely with simple means.
  • the above object is achieved by a device for displaying information with the features of claim 1.
  • the device is then characterized by a second energy supply device for supporting the display and / or for supplying at least one further functional element of the device.
  • the energy supply device for the display is not sufficient for the safe operation of a large number of functional elements.
  • a second energy supply device was then provided in a further manner according to the invention.
  • This second energy supply device is designed either as a supporting supply element for the display and thus also for the functional elements provided, or as a supply element for at least one further functional element of the device.
  • the at least one further functional element is the functional element which can no longer be adequately supplied for display purposes by the energy supply device alone.
  • the second energy supply device can also perform a double function in that it is designed on the one hand as a supporting supply element for the display and on the other hand as a supply element for any existing functional elements.
  • the second energy supply device could have a circuit separate from the energy supply device for the display. This would result in an energy supply limited to predetermined functional elements.
  • the second energy supply device could be arranged outside or inside the housing.
  • the user could easily handle the second energy supply device separately from the energy supply device for display.
  • the arrangement of the second energy supply device within the housing provides a particularly compact embodiment of the device.
  • the second energy supply device could be arranged on a wall of the housing. This results in a particularly simple and stable design of the device.
  • the second energy supply device could be flanged to the wall and possibly latched to the wall.
  • special rail elements with a locking element could be provided.
  • the second energy supply device could be assigned to a housing part that can be detached from the rest of the housing, preferably a wall section.
  • the second energy supply device would thus be handled via the detachable housing part.
  • the housing part could be interchangeable with an original housing part that is present in a device without a second energy supply device.
  • the original housing part of be removed from the device or from the housing and instead the housing part with the second energy supply device are arranged.
  • the housing part is a housing base.
  • the part of the housing opposite the arm when worn - the housing base of the wristwatch - could serve as a detachable housing part to which the second energy supply device is assigned.
  • the second energy supply device could be inserted into a receiving area formed in the housing, for example in the form of a recess, and the housing base could then be connected to the rest of the housing.
  • This integration principle with regard to the second energy supply device could also be implemented with other detachable housing parts, for example a section of the side wall or the cover of the housing.
  • the wall section to which the second energy supply device is assigned could be designed as a housing extension with respect to a housing of a device without a second energy supply device.
  • the detachable housing part could be designed in the form of a housing extension.
  • the housing part could be screwed or locked to the rest of the housing.
  • the quick-release fastener could have a thread with a small number of threads.
  • the housing part could have an internal thread or an external thread and the rest of the housing could have a complementary thread.
  • a seal could be arranged between the housing part and the rest of the housing to ensure that the housing is dust and / or watertight.
  • An elastic plastic or rubber is conceivable as a sealing material.
  • the seal could on the one hand be assigned to the housing part or on the other hand to the rest of the housing.
  • a radio receiver for data from a satellite-based position detection system, preferably GPS, and / or a telecommunication device, preferably a cell phone could be provided as a further functional element. A simple position determination of the user and / or convenient telecommunication could thus take place.
  • the display could be designed as a screen or flat screen.
  • An embodiment as a liquid crystal display would be particularly inexpensive.
  • the second energy supply device could be a preferably rechargeable battery.
  • a lithium battery would be particularly cheap due to its performance.
  • the use of commercially available, non-rechargeable batteries is also conceivable.
  • the energy supply device for the display could be a battery, a solar cell or an automatic motion drive in a further simple manner.
  • the energy supply device for the display and the second energy supply device it is particularly favorable if both energy supply devices are of the same type.
  • the device according to the invention for displaying information is constructed in an economically particularly attractive manner as a wristwatch or pocket watch.

  • FIG. 2 in a side view, partially in section, the embodiment of Fig. 1, wherein a conventional device is shown in the right half of the upper part of the figure, and
  • FIG 3 shows a side view, partly in section, of a second exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention for displaying information, a conventional device being shown in the right half of the upper part of the figure.
  • FIG. 1 shows an exploded perspective view of a first exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention for displaying information.
