Abstract

The invention relates to a method for continuously determining the elementary composition of clinker as a basic substance for producing cement, and to a device for carrying out this method. The method is characterised by an analytical device which functions according to the energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy technique. Said device comprises at least one source of x-radiation (16) and at least one associated energy resolution detector unit (15) which is directed at the mass flow (13) of clinker. The energy dispersive signals of the detector unit (15) are conveyed to a computer in order to determine the quantitative elementary composition of the mass flow, taking into account the mass flow quantity data recorded by an associated measuring device (14).
