Description

Verfahren zur kontinuierlichen Bestimmung der Zusammensetzung eines Materialstromes und dafür geeignete Vorrichtung Process for the continuous determination of the composition of a material flow and device suitable therefor
B e s c h r e i b u n gDescription
The invention relates to a method for the continuous determination of the elemental composition of the clinker as a basic material for cement production.
In current practice, the elemental composition of the clinker is determined by taking a sample from time to time, taking a quantity of material from the material flow. The drawn samples are examined after sample preparation, for example in a wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectrometer; Such an examination unit, including sample handling and evaluation, is described in the company brochure "Siemens - Sequence X-Ray Spectrometer SRS 3000".
Such a procedure using the corresponding analysis device has the disadvantage that, owing to the fact that it is only random Monitoring the mass flow, an overall analysis is only possible by statistically extrapolating the individual samples to the amount of material, and this only with a time delay, since sample proximity, sample preparation and sample analysis require a corresponding amount of time. This means that the results of the analysis can only be used to a limited extent to control the continuously running production in cement production.
The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a method with which continuous monitoring of the composition of the clinker as a base material for cement production is possible; the invention also aims to provide a suitable device for carrying out continuous monitoring of the mass flow.
This object is achieved, including advantageous refinements and developments of the invention, from the content of the patent claims, which follow this description.
For this purpose, the invention provides a method in which an analysis device operating according to the method of energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy with at least one X-ray source and at least one assigned energy-resolving detector unit is aligned with the mass flow at clinker and the energy-dispersive signals of the detector unit of a computer unit for determining the quantitative elemental composition of the mass flow under Inclusion of the mass flow data recorded by an associated measuring device can be supplied.
With the invention is associated with the advantage that the analysis results available in the context of the continuous monitoring of the elementary composition of the mass flow can be used for direct control of the composition, for example in the context of the mixture of the raw products for cement production, so that changes in the composition of the raw materials to be mixed can be reacted more quickly. Furthermore, an error-prone sample preparation and transport system is advantageously eliminated.
The method according to the invention, which can be used for online control, is based in particular on an energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy; Depending on the composition of the elements of the mass flow, a characteristic X-ray fluorescence spectrum is detected, and the energy-dispersive signals from the detector unit are electronically processed and subjected to a quantitative analysis in a connected computer unit. The elements of the complex mass flow composition are detected with the X-ray fluorescence analysis with energy-dispersive detection, the elements not being differentiated according to their chemical bonding; however, this is also not necessary to fulfill the task.
According to the inventive method, the energy-dispersive signals are evaluated in the downstream computer unit and by means of a suitable one Software can provide a tabular representation of the determined contents, as well as a graphical representation of the results in the form of bar graphs; a comparison of the results can also be shown over the time axis. Insofar as several measuring stations are arranged along the mass flow to be analyzed, a comparison of the analysis results at the individual measuring stations, showing any deviations, is given.
According to one embodiment, a device for carrying out the method can be designed in such a way that the X-ray source and detector unit are arranged in a single measuring transducer which is aligned with the mass flow; Of course, several such sensors can also be arranged in the course of the conveying direction of the mass flow in order to improve the quality of the determination of the composition. Alternatively, it can be provided that the x-ray source and the detector unit are arranged on different sides in the longitudinal direction of a conveyor carrying the mass flow and are aligned accordingly, or that the analysis device is arranged in the region of a transfer station for the mass flow and the x-ray source and the detector unit on different sides of the free fall mass flow are arranged and aligned.
To avoid contamination of the detector unit, provision is made for the detector unit to be shielded from the mass flow by means of a film strip which is clocked and moved over the detector unit. With the clocking of the Further movement of the film strip ensures that the measurement results are not falsified due to contamination of the film strip.
In one exemplary embodiment, the invention also provides a device for moving a reference sample used for calibration control into the beam path of the analysis device.
Essential elements in the clinker that determine the quality are the elements iron and calcium bound in corresponding oxide compounds, the detection of which is easily possible by using a radioactive preparation such as Amerikum 241 as an X-ray source. To the extent that aluminum and silicon fractions are also to be recorded with a view to improving the accuracy of the analysis, the invention provides for the use of an electrically operated X-ray tube as an X-ray source, since the associated low-energy characteristic X-ray fluorescence lines are compared to the heavier elements due to the lower atomic number experienced relatively large weakening in the air; this can be compensated for by an adapted excitation energy of an electrically operated X-ray tube as an X-ray source.
