Description

Relaxation bed
Field of the invention
The invention concerns the construction of relaxation bed and is included into the field of health and rehabilitation technique.
State of the art
We are exposed to many unfavourable psychological and physical effects by current dynamic life style. The troubles in work, lack of exercise, one-side activity, incorrect bodykeeping result in the weariness of organism and pains especially in the area of the backbone. Is is also not negligible, if we allow the body complete rest and relaxation on the suitable bed, especially taking into account, that one third of our life belongs to sleep. Moreover, one of the conditions of sound sleep is looseness of the backbone, muscles, blood circulation, nervous system and of all organs in such manner, they could work properly and harmonious. First of all, the backbone, as the nervous center, to which especially muscles are connected, plays an important task in our completely state of health. After whole-day loading the vertebrae are loosing their elasticity, intervertebral disks are pushed out of their usual position and they press on the nervous radices of the medulla. Thus, very important is supporting the backbone during lying in its natural shape and supply of nutrition to the disks after looseness.
Special requirements are required to health beds and especially to post-operation beds. One of them is also the reqiurement of prevention from the decubitus arising or of curing of arisen decubitus, especially for the patients who are bound to the bed for a long time. In current time there are, in inland and also abroad, many of producers producing rehabilitation universal health beds and orthopedic mattresses, which are applicable also to the house beds.
In the last time there is the orthopedic lamellar mattress with simple construction produced by Czech furniture producer available on the market. The basic substance of the "SARA" lamellar mattress is an elastic grid composed of great number of wood lamellae gripped in cotton sleeves of three longitudinal elastic bearer. The elastic grid is accommodated to the body shape, in similar manner as the water-bed and supported it in the proper manner . The backbone and the musculature are allowed to loosen and to regenerate. The bearing elastic material of the grid is foam EUROPUR™, which is not deformable. It is important for relaxation and regeneration of the musculature and secures steady supporting of the body without extremely pressure points and its correct capillary return.
Of the hospital beds attention shall be paid particular to the universal hospital bed of the ALBA range, intent for the units of intensive care, ARO, and for the special departments of the hospitals . This bed comprises of four grid grates, individually able to turn over. Positioning of the bed is carried out by four electric motors. There is the possibility to incline the whole bed.
The top among the hospital beds are the beds including system Mediscus Low Air Loss Therapy built into. A patient is lightened by 21 water-proof but for the water steam permeable air bags. The air-bags are arranged in fifth different sections: head, trunk, sitting part, thighs and calves , ever part includes the own valve for pressure regulation. This system is helpful to prevent decubitus arising and the time necessary to treatment of decubitus shortened. The treatment of patient by using system Mediscus Low Air Loss Therapy avoids the common regime of turning round the patient after every two hours. In the case, the clinical indications required the patient to be turned round, low stage of friction of the air-bags material allows the nursing staff to perform this procedure without special difficulty.
Disadvantages of the current orthopedic mattresses are imperfekt protection against decubitus arising, especially when patient is lying in the bed for some months.
Present perfect hospital beds are economic inaccessible or too complicated to construct.
Background of the invention
The insufficiencies mentioned above are removed by relaxation bed according to the invention. The subject of invention is especially that, it comprises the first set of lamellae and the second set of lamellae, where lamellae of the first set are alternated with the lamellae of the second set. Moreover, lamellae of the second set are vertical adjustable toward the lamellae of the first set. In one of the marginal position the lamellae of the first set mesh between the lamellae of the second set and in the other marginal position lamellae of the second set mesh between the lamellae of the first set. They are in a neutral position, when lamellae of the first set are leveled or curved with lamellae of the second set. Lamellae can be replaced by wavy spring or by straight lath.
Further subject of invention is also that the first set of lamellae is anchored to the first frame directly or through the set of the first correcting elements. Similarly, the second set of lamellae is anchored to the correcting elements. The first frame is an inner frame and the second frame is an outer frame and it is movable.
The substantial technical sign is that the second set of lamellae is coupled on the lifting device, which secures its vertical adjustment. Moreover, the lifting device is pneumatic or hydraulic or electromechanic or manual. Interesting is also the realization of lifting device, which consist of rocker jointed through the draw bar to the drive. The rocker is represented by the first arm, swinging anchored by the first of its ends and by the second of its ends coupled on the second arm through the pivot. The second end of the arm encroach on the shoe. The second frame with the second set of lamellae encroach on the shoe. The drive can be pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders or electric motor with gear box. In manual workmanship the lifting device is e.g. mechanical shear lifting jack controlled through the crank. For additional purposes, pneumatic or hydraulic or electromechanic lifting device is equipped by programmed input. This is timely programmed input, used to installation of the period of lifting and dropping of the second set of lamellae or of the second frame in continual regime. In the switching regime, the time of awaken is adjusted after the rest period (sleeping time).
The subject of the invention is completed by the set of the first or of the second correcting elements , used to adjustment of required orthopedic curve of bed surface. The first and the second correcting elements comprise of the first rigid part gripped in the first or in the second frame and of the pushed-out second part gripped in the ends of the first or the second sets of lamellae.
Moreover, the subject of this invention is the mattress, covering over the first and the second set of lamellae and which thickness depends on the weight of the At last, the subject of this invention is, that the second, movable frame containing the second set of lamellae is removable placed on four shoes and its stability is secured by stabilizing pits. The second frame is on his both frontal parts equipped with pushed-out handle.
The advantage of the relaxation bed according to the described invention is that contact points taking the patient body into contact with relaxation bed, are changed periodically. This prevents arising of decubitus. In the case of the patient, who decubitus has been arisen, if he is moved on this relaxation bed, the time of curing this decubitus is substantially shortened. Relaxation bed according to the described invention has simple construction, witch radically lowers the cost price of this bed. Relaxation bed can also influence the massage and the straightening of the backbone, if the lamellae are placed in the high over the length of the relaxation bed. For example, the first rigid lamellae are in the centre of the bed placed in the lowest position and in the frontal margins of the bed they stick out to the utmost. And on the contrary, the second movable lamellae are in the centre of the bed placed in the highest position and in the frontal margins of the bed they sink to the minimum. This overlap, in the case of vertical moving of the outer second frame, causes longitudinal moving of the patient. Advantageous is also the upholstering of the bed realized through exchangeable mattresses elastic gripped in the movable frame.
Description of the drawings
Described invention shall be explained in more details using the drawing, where fig. 1 represents left longitudinal half of the relaxation bed including pushed-out lamellae of the first frame. Fig. 2 represents right longitudinal half second frame. Fig. 3 represents detail construction of the movable second frame. Fig. 4 represents front view of the relaxation bed in section. Fig. 5 represents the construction of the correcting element a its gripping to the end of lamella. And finally fig. 6 represents one alternative of adjusting of the correcting elements in accordance with the prescribed orthopedic curve.

Lamellae 2. of the second set are exactly in the upper dead centre, thus they are located over the lamellae 1 of the first set of the first frame 3_. Concerning the upper centre, the first arm H and the second arm 13. are in vertical straight line.
Fig. 4 represents front view on the relaxation bed in section. The left side of the figure represents the first frame 3_ containing spring lamella 1 of the first set. The left side of the picture represents the movable second frame 5. containing spring lamella 2. of the second set in the upper dead centre. In the front view there is represented the driving electric motor 0 including pivot 1_2 and the first and the second arms H, 13.
Fig. 5 represents the construction of the first correcting element 4.. This consists of the hollow rigid part 4.1 , and the second push-out part 4.2 is inserted into it. Lamella 1 of the first set is gripped to it by screws. The second push-out part 4.2 is made e.g. of beech wood, but it can be also made of plastic. The first rigid part 4.1 is anchored to the first frame 3_. The first rigid part 4.1 has a hole or a vertical slot. The second push-out part 4.2 contains the system of holes in vertical arrangement, which can be used, by imbus screw or pit, for adjustment of the high of the first correcting element 4.. Subject-matter of the construction of relaxation bed is as in example 1, changes are in the kind of lifting device 7. The lifting device 1_ is pneumatic. The drive IJD in this case is a pneumatic cylinder. The condition of functional of the relaxation bed is gas pressure medium supply into the room, where shall be the relaxation bed installed in. The realization of the first correcting element 4., can be changed, especially its rigid part 4.1, which is realized directly in the body of the first frame 3_. In the upper part of the first frame 3_, there is an hole made in the shape of the second push-out part 4.2 of the first correcting element 4.. In the side part of the first frame 3_, there is a hole made for the second correcting element 6. together with its rigid part 6.1 and with its second push-out part 6.2. Also the pneumatic cylinder can be equipped by programming input 15, which can be used to programming of the time lifting regime.
Example 3
Subject matter of construction of the relaxation bed is maintained as in the example 1, but some changes are in the kind of lifting device 1_. The lifting device 1 is a hydraulic device. Drive 10. in this case is a hydraulic cylinder. The condition of functional of the relaxation bed is liquid pressure medium supply into the room, where shall be the relaxation bed installed in. Also the hydraulic cylinder can be equipped by programming input 15, which can be used to programming of the time lifting regime.
Example 4

Example 5
This is the most simple realization of the relaxation bed. The lifting device l_ is reduced to only four bolted or pinned connections, which are manual regulated. Bolting or transferring of the pin to another hole alters lifting of lamellae 2. of the second set or of the hole movable second frame 5. Those bolted or pinned connections are placed in the corners of the relaxation bed loading area. The fitting of the bed with the rocker 8., draw bar 9. and drive 10 can be omitted. For example, by using this most simple realization lamellae 1, 2. of the first an of the second sets can be replaced by wavy spring or by straight lath.
The description of effect and functioning of the bed is as follows. In the case, that pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanic drive 10. is used, the rocker 8. has an effect on periodical lifting and dropping of the movable second frame 5. containing lamellae 2. of the second set toward to the level of the first frame 3_ containing lamellae 1 of the first set. By this way, the basic condition of functioning of the relaxation bed is fulfilled. The programming input 15, which can be additionally supplemented to the drive 10, can change lifting and dropping regime; either continuously by changing the time period of the lifting cycle or intermittently, when the programming input 10. serves as a switch to morning or another awaking of the patient after the sleeping. The effects of relaxation bed is multiplied by inserting of the first and of the second correcting elements 4., 6. to lamellae 1, 2. of the first and/or of the second set. Vertical adjusting of lamellae enables to form the bed surface to the demanded shape and in this way achieve the specified orthopedic curve 19. in the manner represented by picture 6. This construction of the relaxation bed has another great advantage; in the case of suddenly collapse of the patient he can be moved without difficulty e.g. to the table by pushing out of the handles 12 from the frontal parts of the movable second frame 5. and two persons of the nursing staff lift out the patient without difficulty together with the removable second frame 5. and together with the second frame 5. they can lay him on the mobile cart. Till now at least four person were required to transfer the patient to the mobile cart.
Industrial utilization
The relaxation bed according to the described invention can be used in hospitals as the fundamental equipment for severely post-operative conditions and also for rehabilitation. The relaxation bed is utilizable in household as the common sleep bed or as an massage bed in massage parlors or in convalescent homes.
