Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective module for connection to a contact component of a distributor in a telecommunications system.
- Such a protective assembly is e.g. through the
- a contact component is provided with a multiplicity of contact parts for connecting incoming and outgoing lines.
- the contact parts are connected to rear-side plug contacts which can be contacted with a corresponding number of plug-in contact points on the protective module.
- the protective assembly can be connected to the plug contacts from the rear side of the contact component facing away from the operating side. It has a printed circuit board that is equipped with current fuses and surge arresters.
- An earth conductor track common to all surge arresters extends into the end face area of the protective assembly and forms contact zones there which can be contacted with spring contacts of an earth contact strip which is fastened to a carrier part for the contact components.
- the earth contact strip which extends over several contact components, has punched-out spring arms, between which the corresponding contact zones of the printed circuit board can be inserted. It is common to first remove the protective assembly from the
- the invention has for its object to enable a simple, space-saving and safe contacting of the protective assembly with the carrier part.
- the contact spring Since the contact spring is now attached to the protective assembly, it follows its movements when it is inserted laterally, as well as when it is inserted into the contact component.
- the cross-sectional contour of the protective assembly is no longer affected by the shape of the earth contact spring.
- the earth contact spring only requires a small space for the lateral deflection when the protective assembly is attached. It can be attached as part of the assembly of the protective module and contacted with the earth conductor.
- the carrier part for the contact components can e.g. consist of a chrome-plated sheet steel with which the earth contact spring can be contacted directly.
- the earth contact spring is contacted in a manner similar to the plug contact points of the protective assembly.
- the earthing plate and the earth contact spring consist of one piece, so that only very low additional costs are incurred for the formation of the earth contact spring.
- connection elements of the earth contact spring can be formed, for example, from press-in pins which are pressed into plated-through soldering eyes on the printed circuit board.
- the connecting elements it is also possible to design the connecting elements as solder pins which are inserted into the soldering eyes and which are soldered together with the protective elements to the circuit board, so that no separate operation is necessary for this.
- the invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. It shows:
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a distributor block with contact components and protective assemblies
- FIG. 2 shows a section through the protective assembly according to FIG. 1 with one of the contact components along the line II-II in FIG. 4
- FIG. 3 shows a side view of the protective assembly according to FIG. 1
- FIG. 4 shows a plan view 3 shows a cross section through another protective assembly with a grounding plate along the line V - V in FIG. 6,
- FIG. 6 shows a top view of the protective assembly according to FIG. 5
- FIG. 1 shows a distributor block 1 with a carrier part 2, in which disk-like wire guides 3 and contact components 4 are stacked one above the other in a sandwich-like manner.
- the wire guides 3 have curved wire guide channels 5, in which incoming and outgoing lines (17, FIG. 2) can be guided from side walls 6 to an operating side 7 of the distributor block.
- the contact components 4 are provided on this side with insulation displacement terminals 8, in the clamping slots of which the incoming and outgoing lines can be pressed in contacting manner by means of a connecting tool 9.
- the insulation displacement terminals 8 are connected to contact parts which form isolating contacts in the interior of the contact components, which can be interrupted by means of isolating plugs 10 which can be inserted from the front.
- the contact components 4 have on their rear side, opposite the operating side 7, 11 plug contacts for a protective module 12 which can be inserted laterally into the distributor block 1. This is provided along its front side 13 facing the contact component 4 with plug contact points 14, which according to the indicated arrow direction between the plug contacts of the contact components 4 can be inserted.
- the plug contact points of the protective assembly 12 can be plugged in between the plug contacts 15 of contact parts 16 of the contact component 4 according to the direction of the arrow.
- the contact components 16 are connected on the operating side 7 of the contact component 4 opposite the protective assembly 12 to the insulation displacement terminals 8 to which the incoming and outgoing lines 17 are connected.
- the protective assembly 12 consists of a printed circuit board, a frame-like housing part 19, surge arresters 20 and current fuses 21. Solder connections 22 of the surge arrester 20 or current fuses 21 are connected via conductor tracks 23 to the plug contact points 14 of the printed circuit board 18.
- the housing part 19 is fixed by means of clamping pins 24 in corresponding clamping holes in the printed circuit board 18.
- the housing part 19 is designed such that it can be placed on the printed circuit board 18 after the protective elements (20, 21) have been soldered on. This is made possible by an opening 25 which is open towards the printed circuit board and surrounds the protective elements. However, it is also possible to provide a breakthrough for each individual protective element or for individual groups of the protective elements.
- the earth conductor track 26 is essentially covered by the housing part 19 to save space. It extends up to the end face area of the printed circuit board 18 and is connected to an earth contact spring 27 which extends along the end face of the protective assembly in the plugging direction thereof to the front side (13).
- an earth contact spring 27 which extends along the end face of the protective assembly in the plugging direction thereof to the front side (13).
- two-pole surge arresters 29 are arranged with their central axis perpendicular to the printed circuit board 18. Between the conductor tracks 23 and the surge arresters 29, a melting ring 31 is inserted in each case, one side resting on the conductor track 23 and the other side resting on a pole of the surge arrester 29.
- a grounding plate 31 partially encircles the protective assembly 30 and has cut-out spring tongues 32 which rest on the other pole of the surge arrester 29 and press it against the melting ring 31.
- An overvoltage on line 17 (FIG. 2) is dissipated through the overvoltage arrester into the grounding plate 31, whereby the overvoltage arrester 29 and the melting ring 31 heat up. This is softened so that the surge arrester 29 is pressed towards the circuit board 23 until it abuts a projection 33 of the grounding plate 31, so that the overvoltage can now be transmitted directly to the grounding plate 31.
- the grounding plate 31 continues in one piece on the two narrow ends of the protective assembly 30 in the earth contact spring 27, which extends perpendicular to the row direction of the plug contact points and projects with its free end in the insertion direction.
