Abstract

Verfahren zur Aufarbeitung von Dihydroxyverbindungen enthaltenden Rückständen, welche bei der Herstellung von Polyestern anfallen, wobei man (1) in einer ersten Stufe eine Dicarbonsäure oder deren Ester bzw. esterbildende Derivate mit einem molaren Überschuß einer Dihydroxyverbindung verestert bzw. umestert, (2) in mindestens einer zweiten Stufe das gemäß (1) erhaltene Veresterungsprodukt polykondensiert, (3) die bei den Umsetzungen gemäß (1) und (2) anfallenden Brüden (a) bzw. (b) einer Behandlung zur Rückgewinnung der Ausgangsstoffe unterwirft, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Behandlung zur Rückgewinnung der Ausgangsstoffe in Gegenwart einer Alkali- oder Erdalkaliverbindung in einer Menge von 0,5 bis 10 Gew.-%, berechnet als Alkalimetall bzw. Erdalkalimetall bezogen auf den Feststoffgehalt der Brüden, vornimmt.
