Abstract

The present invention relates to the manufacture of products with a polychrome relief surface. The manufacturing method involves applying a polyvinylchloride-based paste to a stencil, drying the paste, and pressing the paste onto the surface of the article to be decorated while simultaneously heating the assembly. The pressing operation lasts for a period between 0.25 and 3 minutes.

Description

DESCRIPTION
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PRODUCTS WITH RELIEF-PATTERNED SURFACE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to manufacturing of products with polychrome relief surface and may be used in production of artistic applications, stripes, straps, shevrons and the like products.
Background Art
Known is the method of application of relief drawings of nonuniform depth on flat textile products (see DD Patent N 275283, IPC D06C 23/00).
The present method uses foam pastes and printing device. Paste is applied to drawing stencil with recesses of different depth; said paste is forced by means of a press. Then the product with the drawing undergoes thermal treatment. Long period of relief development process and bad quality of the image which results in occurance of spots of one colour on another one, indistinct boundaries of the drawing and mixing of colours add to the drawbacks of the given method. Another technical decision presents the method of manufacturing products with relief surface comprising thermal pressing of the product and polymer material (see Application, Japan, N 3- 161313 /A/, IPC B 29C 43/18). Thermoplastic film is placed between the tissue and the foam material layer. After opening of the printing form the pores of the foam material restore the original size.
The given method provides polymer composition localization on the tissue but doesn't make it possible to develop polychrome high quality complex drawing.
Disclosure of the Invention
The invention solves the aforementioned problem and avoids the drawbacks of the prior art.
The present invention provides the method of development of high quality products with relief surface, especially polychrome products, besides the method is very easy to realize.
According to the given method the polymer material in the form of a polyvmylchloride-based paste is prior applied to the stencil dried before thermal compressing. Thermal compressing time equals to T=0.25-3 min.
The polymer material is prepared as the paste of the following composition, by mass: dibutilphtalate 20-33 glycerol 11-18 titanium dioxide 1.5-4.0 polyvmylchloride the rest up to 100 by mass
Besides, paste application and drying processes may be repeated.
Thus, polyvmylchloride-based paste and corresponding thermal pressing modes ensure stable and quality relief image. Pressing alongside with thermal treatment provides output increase and maintain high image quality.
Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
Metal stencil is provided with recesses of different depth constituting the required drawing. The polymer material in the form of a polyvmylchloride-based paste is prior applied to the produced stencil. The paste is prepared according to the following composition, by mass: dibutilphtalate 20-33 glycerol 11-18 titanium dioxide 1.5-4.0 polyv ylchloride the rest up to 100 by mass.
Filled with paste stencil is dried at 100-130°C during 0.75-1 m .
After drying the paste is wet with minimum quantity of dibutilphtalate, afterwards the excess of dibutilphtalate is removed. Wetting of the stencil surface with dried paste, firstly, makes it possible to remove the excess of paste from the stencil surface and, secondly, provides a thm swelled paste layer characterized by good adhesion to tissue. Then the tissue is applied to the operating surface of the stencil coated by heat insulating layer and exposed to thermal pressing at temperature interval 130-170°C during T = 0.25-3 mm. Paste transfer to the tissue and image formation are the results of thermal compressing process and time exposure. Paste diffusion to the tissue structure, its localization on the tissue surface and final development of polyvinylchloride structure are provided by thermal compressing process. Polyvinylchloride- based paste promotes shape forming, solidification and strong bonding with the material.
Thermal compressing temperature value as well as the value of time exposure were determined experimentally because temperature value below 130°C results m bad image quality and the temperature value above 170°C results in paste burning. As melting point of polyvinylchloride is about 110°C, mutual migration of a dye and fillers into polymer mass occurs with thermal compression temperature interval 130-170°C, thus providing the formation of a homogeneous mass with good mutual distribution. During the cooling of the pressed mass final formation of the drawing structure resulting in wrapping of all the paste mass by melted polyvinylchloride is provided. Thus, thermal compressing provides the development of application, formed by the polymer and the fillers and characterized by specific physical and mechanical properties ( hardness, elasticity, etc. ) .
Time exposure value equal to T = 0.25-3 min. is used because time exposure less than 0.25 mm. does not provide paste hardening and time exposure value more than 3 mm. is not advisable because of output reduction and power consumption increase.
To develop polychrome relief image, paste of the prevailing image colour is applied to the stencil, then the excess of paste is wiped out and the stencil with the paste is dried at 100-130°C during 0.75-1 min., afterwards dried paste is removed from the corresponding stencil recesses and the paste of another colour is applied to the stencil and dried again. This process is repeated till colour image is developed which is to be reproduced on the tissue.
The invention is illustrated by the following examples. Example N 1 To develop a relief image, for example, application with camomile, stencil with a previously applied image was used.
Stencil recesses presented a negative of the applied image and complied with the paste quantity, required to develop the image. By means of a special device, the stencil was covered with paste containing dibutilphtalate - 20 by mass, glycerol - 11 by mass, titanium dioxide - 1.5 by mass, colouring pigment - 0.15, polyvinylchloride - the rest up to 100 by mass. First, paste of the prevailed colour was applied. In the given example it was white. The excess of paste was removed, the stencil was dried in the oven at temperature 100°C during 0.75 mm. Dried white paste was removed from the stencil recesses corresponding to yellow colour, said recesses were filled with paste of another colour, in the given example it was yellow, the excess of paste was removed by a special device and then the paste was dried. After drying, the stencil with paste was wet with mmimum quantity of dibutilphtalate and dirty areas were cleaned. Then the tissue was applied to the stencil with the image by its operating surface, coated by heat insulating layer and pressed thermal press where thermal compressing waε provided at temperature 170°C during 0.25 mm. Produced camomile image didn't require further treatment.
Example N 2
To develop the product according to example 1 , paste of the following composition was used : dibutilphtalate - 27 by mass, glycerol - 15 by mass; titanium dioxide - 2.5 by mass; colouring pigment - 0.25; polyvinylchloride - the rest up to
100 by mass .
Thermal compressing in the given example was conducted at 150°C during 1.5 min.
Example N 3.

Thermal compressing temperature was 130°C, time exposure was 3 min.
Industrial Applicability
The given method provides quality polychrome relief images with good resistance to cleaning and washing means.
Application pattern was subject to treatment in perchlorethylene ( as overmaterial ) , washing in a washing machine in solution of washing means and other tests.
