Abstract

Described is a ball bearing (3) for shafts subject to linear motion, in particular for vehicle-transmission gear-shift rods (2) held in place by a spring-biased securing element which acts radially on the rod. The invention calls for the outer bearing ring and the ball races enclosed by it to have a common radial gap through which one end of the securing element, which is in the form of a pin (4), projects and makes contact with the gear-shift rod (2). This design allows the securing element to act on the shaft in the immediate vicinity of the bearing.

The invention relates to a ball bearing for supporting linearly moving shafts, in particular shift rods arranged in motor vehicle transmissions, which are locked by a locking element acting radially thereon.
Die hohen Lagerkräfte ergeben sich infolge der räumlichen Momentenbeaufschlagung.20 Not only the locking elements act on such shift rods, but also the shifting forces or synchronizing forces to a much greater extent. It is therefore advantageous to use roller bearings instead of plain bearings for the shift rod bearing. The high bearing forces result from the application of spatial moments.

In einem solchen Fall muß das LagerThere are special selector shafts in which latching elements are arranged directly in the bearing area, which are either intended to hold the shifted gear position or to prevent neighboring selector shafts from being able to move simultaneously. In such a case, the camp
30 zusätzlich für die Kräfte ausgelegt sein, die sich infolge der Arre¬ tierung ergeben.30 can additionally be designed for the forces which result from the locking.
From DE-PS 15 75 504 a radial roller bearing for a shaft is known which can only perform a pivoting movement through a certain angle. This shaft has a recess into which a rod-shaped part protrudes. For this reason, the outer bearing ring is also provided with a recess. Bearing needles are sufficient as rolling elements here because the shaft cannot move in the axial direction. The invention has for its object to provide a simply constructed bearing for a shaft which is displaceable in the axial direction, which enables a locking device to act directly on the shaft in its bearing area.
This object is achieved in that the outer bearing ring and the rows of balls encompassed by it have a common radial opening, through which the latching element protrudes at one end and is in contact with the shift rod. The rows of balls can be arranged in a cage provided with the opening. Such a ball bearing makes it possible to reduce the effort required to shift gears and thus to increase shifting comfort.
The opening of the outer bearing ring or the bearing ring and the cage can be designed in the form of a slot which extends over the entire axial length of the bearing. However, it is also possible to make the opening in the form of a circular, oval or rectangular opening in the bearing ring or the bearing ring and the cage.
In the case of an embodiment with a plurality of shift rods arranged one behind the other, a second breakthrough offset from the breakthrough in the circumferential direction, for example by 180 °, can be arranged on the bearing for securing a middle shift rod. In this case, it is possible that the cage is divided into two shell-shaped cage parts. The two cage parts can be connected to one another in whole or in part via their rims.
So that the perforated cage is always correctly arranged with respect to the perforated outer bearing ring, the cage can be held on the bearing ring by means of radial projections which are located in the region of the opening. These projections can either be attached to the cage and protrude into the area of the bearing ring, or they can be attached to the bearing ring and protrude into the area of the cage. The attachment can be made in that the projections in one piece with the bearing ring or are carried out with the cage. As a result of the projections, relative rotation between the bearing ring and the cage is then not possible.
Since the breakthrough of the bearing ring to the locking element must be installed in the correct position. B. can be done by a robot, it makes sense to provide markings on one or both bearing ring rims, which are arranged centrally in the bearing ring in an axial extension to the opening. The locking element can be designed as a locking pin.
Es zeigen:Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and are described in more detail below. Show it:

In a housing 1 of a gearbox, a shift rod 2 is mounted for longitudinal displacement. For this purpose, a ball bearing 3 is used, the outer bearing ring of which has an opening through which a locking pin 4 protrudes at one end, so that it comes into contact with a contact surface 22 in a recess 23 incorporated into the shift rod 2 stands. The locking pin 4 has the shape of a sleeve which is pressed radially onto the shift rod 2 by a spring 5. The spring is arranged within the sleeve which forms the locking pin 4 and is supported as a compression spring with one end on the housing 1 and the other end on an annular stop edge of the locking pin 4.
In the embodiment of the wheel ball bearing according to Figures 2 and 3, a cage 7 with rows of balls 8 is arranged in an outer bearing ring 6. In a U starting area of the bearing, the bearing ring 6 and the cage 7 are provided with a common opening 9, which is rectangular in this exemplary embodiment. A radial projection 10 is formed on the bearing ring 6 along a rectangle side of the opening 9, which protrudes into the area of the cage 7 and has a stop surface therefor. Along the parallel rectangular side of the opening 9, the cage 7 is provided with a projection 11 which projects radially from the inside outward into the region of the bearing ring 6 and also has a stop surface against which the bearing ring 6 can rest. These projections ensure the correct arrangement of the cage and bearing ring. For the assembly orientation of the opening 9 there is a recess 13 in a rim 12 of the bearing ring 6.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, an opening 16 is arranged in the outer bearing ring 14 and in the cage 15 and extends over the entire axial length of the ball bearing. This opening 16 thus forms a slot in the bearing. Here too, a protrusion 10 is formed on the bearing ring 14 and a protrusion 11 on the cage 15 along a boundary line of the opening 16 in order to maintain the relative position between the bearing ring 14 and the cage 15.
In the embodiment according to FIGS 6 and 7 is a second breakthrough r 19 are provided in addition to the aperture 17 in a circumferential region of the outer bearing ring 18 which is offset from the aperture 17 by 180 °. In this way, two identical cage parts 20 have arisen from a cage, which are supported by radial projections 21 of the bearing ringes 18 are held in position. The breakthrough here has the shape of a circle.
