DESlGN FOR FOUNTAlNS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9,353, dated June 27, 1876; application filed June 8, 1876.
[Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. W. FisKE, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Designs for Fountains, of which the following is a specification:
This design consists of a basin representing four sea-shells, united and supported on a column made in imitation of a pile of loose stones or rocks, with a circular base. In the center of the basin is the imitation of a rock, on which is the figure of a female standing erect, and holding in her hands, in front of her person, a shell, as though in the act of pouring Surrounding the figure, near its feet, is a circular pipe, provided with a series of jets, the whole being constructed as represented in the accompanying photograph. If desired, this row of jets may be omitted and others substituted. The figure can also be used as a piece of statuary, independently of the base or rock part.
What I claim is- The herein-described design for a fountain, consisting of a basin in imitation of a number of shells, united as shown, resting on a column made in imitation of loose stonework, with the female figure standing erect in said basin.
