DESIGN FOR FOUNTAIN-INKSTANDS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,385, dated June 8, 1575; application filed June 17, 1874.
[Term of Patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEVI L. TowER, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new Design for Fountain]nltstands, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying illustration, to which reference is made.
Arepresents the base ofzifountaininkstand, and 15 a portion of the front; U, the dipping cup; E, the interior of the ink-fountain; and F F, the pen-rack. The base is square and perfectly plain, except a small corner taken off upon the lower edge all around the four sides and up each corner. The front is cut out from the top one-half the distance downward, quite or nearly a semicircle. The pen-rack is serpentine and flush with the two sides, and are composed of four projections each, commencing at the rear corners, and having three recesses each. The ink-cup has a conical semicircular mouth, and the ink-fountain is cylin' dricul, terminating at its top in a dome.
The distinctive character of my design is found in thecuhical form com posing the greater portion of the exterior, with the interior of the reservoir cylindrical or dome-shaped, and the semicircular dipping'cup, when embodying a i'ountain-inkstand made of cut crystal glass, with serpentine pen-rack on top.
\Vhat I claim as my invention is- A design for a glass fountain-inl;stand in which the base A is square, with a semicircular dipping-placc,1, and the cup 0, with cylindrical ink-fountain E, having a dome-shaped top surmounted with a serpentine pen-rack, F F, the whole being of a cubical form, as set forth and shown in the accompanying illustration.
